6 Comments on The Inconvenient Truth about Vanishing Christianity

I too became a Christian 40+ years ago and remember that end times teaching was very prevalent - however, I too have see the shift away from this subject. I’m sorry to admit that I’ve been attending a seeker friendly church for about 25 years. I kept telling myself that it wasn’t emergent but after countless red flags I finally decided to go back to the conservative, smaller church I had left 25 years ago. At first it was great, many people still there after all these years. I liked the pastor, but in the approx 2 months I was there, he didn’t ever really talk about Jesus, salvation, eternity, etc. I had an opportunity to meet and talk to him personally. I asked if he ever spoke about end times events and if the church still held a pre tribe rapture view. He said yes to both questions, but that he didn’t focus on it in particular - only if it comes up in his teaching of scripture. He said he wears his pre-trib beliefs like underwear! I understood that to mean it’s always there but nobody sees it. I’ve decided this is not the church for me. Guess I’m back to church hunting 🤨

This is great! I pray for people to open their eyes and ears to the truth. That they will go blind and deaf to the lies of the enemy. Oh Lord, that you may receive Your bride as a holy and blameless church, ready and waiting for You.

And when I warn of not denying the Lord even if it means sacrifice, all you get is gaffing looks and comments like; "but, they will fire me if I don't ______!" And I say "Yes! I know! That's called counting the cost!" And I quote verses like: "And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." Mark 8; 34-38 Part 2

"The blunt truth is that the overwhelming majority of professing Christians in our nation enjoy life in their self-ordered environments. Changes that involve any inconvenience or distraction from their delightful pastimes are not popular. They only want as much godliness as is required to be viewed as a valid Christian and then fill in the rest of their life with pleasing and comfortable things and activities. It appears that they are not convicted of yielding their minds and emotional systems over to stimulation by every form of entertainment of the world system. It is perplexing to witness professing Christians become possessed with delirium over sports and yet seldom respond to anointed preaching, teaching, writing..." Yep, that sums it up in one bag! Part 1
