Are all of the gifts extant today? I ask myself, what about capitol A, Apostles? If so, what about their writings, are they to be under consideration for canonization?
As for healing, the Apostle Paul told Timothy to drink wine for his stomach problems.
As for anointing, primarily if not almost exclusively it referred to a king of Israel. If not the king, it was reserved to service in the Temple.
In the church age it is used concerning healing by the elders.
The voice of God that most hear from today is identical to their own.

absolutely, the gifts are for today, but in this time of apostasy we see very little reality and what happens in these settings is definitely not of the Lord. It is a hotbed for demonic activity and deluding people into the end time apostasy. I was graciously delivered from this kind of charismatic deception as well as from other kinds of occult oppression and bondage. I praise God that he opened my eyes to see it.

Yes, it is always good to warn against the counterfeit. And as a result of that, many throw the real right out the window, like the baby with the bathwater. Everything God gave to the New Testament church is alive, active, and available today. There is no Bible verse that can contradict that. The demonic does not nullify the real of God. The false teachers who want to rob God’s people of all God has for us try to twist Scripture to promote cessationism, when continuationism is the fact. They try to use 1 Cor. 13 because it says ‘when that which is perfect has come,’ they claim it is the Bible, yet not all had access to it until the Reformation, and not even all until today either. It does not say it is the Bible. If they read it in full context they can see it is referring to the return of Jesus and the kingdom, when we see Him ‘face to face.’ Until then we do need, and do have, the gifts and miracles, communication as it said in that Berean Call article, and baptism of the Holy Spirit. And no amount of 3-ring circus act hoolabaloo of ‘Charismatics’ and Pentecostals gone astray can change that.

I’ve seen all of the above, and I’m sorry to burst bubbles, but it’s all demonic possession and forces; all of it. The best way to describe the entire “slain in the spirit” freakshow is calling it “sex with clothes on.”

God is holy; God is proper . . . God is not a pornographer.

    Thank you for writing this.
I was a psychologist four years ago. I thought most things wete humanistic. I had special training in interpersonal behaviour and effective communication…thinking, in short, all human phenomena are a function of healthy or unhealthy human relations/relational behaviour. In terms of spiritual questions I became involved in new age and eastern ideas….lonh story short. I was attacked by demons. Did bot know that even existed. God protected me from its assignments. Nothing i knew in psychology or psychiatry could explain what i saw and experienced. One moment I also saw a demon and I think i saw an angel for a brief moment. I knew i must stay away from psychology and especially psychiatry…i did not know anything else….i went searching, eventually after turnibg past, reiki and then catholic….landed up in a charismatic environment. Here i learned it was demons that attacked my life because of unrepented forefather sins and curses and that involvement in new age, eastern and catholic also opened for this attack. I learned that the struggle is not against flesh and blood … (Ephesians 6:12). I knew psychology and psychiatry does not know it. I left that profession and started volunteering at this one ministry……goy exposed to all the charismatic pracrices….I felt so bad for having been in so many lies ans not being with God that i thought these people had the truth
Sometimes i wondered how the new age and easter and pop psych thibgs I came from can be sp close to some of the things I hear in charismatic ……I always asked God for the Truth and I started reading the Bible again (I used to as a child coming from a traditional protestant upbringing) ……some things bothered me in the charismatic envirpnment….some i ignored, thinking I obviously did not know the truth and others I just recognised new age and pop psych, lack of understanding and preaching sin. ………then!!….I heard about the NAR…..so I realised I went from the frying pan almost into the fire. I left the charismatics too.
So I appreciate this kind of article.

So often it goes like this for people involved in one type of deception. They go from one to another. Dave Hunt has written extensively in his book, ” Occult Invasion” about psychology and psychiatry have demonic origins. Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud were both heavily demonized men. I recommend an excellent youtube video, Dave Hunt discussing “Seducing spirits and doctrines of demons”.
I too, was involved in the Charismatic movement in the 1990’s and made the trip to the “Toronto Airport blessing”. I can tell you that what happened to me was not simply triggered by emotionalism and hype. I could sense that demons were taking over when I was “slain in the spirit” on the floor. Experiences like this are hard to explain, but I knew that the laughter that was coming out of me was not from myself, but from a demon. I believe that some of the pandemonium and crazy behaviour that occurs is fleshly and induced by what people see going on around them, but most of it is totally demonic in nature.

Rabbis would have been horrified to witness such behavior in the synagogue! Men and women worshipped in separate areas, and still do in some synagogues. The Bible says to do all things decently and in order. Men and women falling on top of each other does not fit the bill. This type of frenzy is not of God and is being used by satan to deceive many. How can anyone who is a true believer belong to a church like this?

    • Lillia

Well a few things are in order here.
      1. Are we talking about the synagogue now? Because they are headed for hell for not believing in Jesus as God and Messiah. So who cares what they think?
      2. If you are referring to the synagogue back in BC times, well they didn’t have the outpouring of the Spirit as today anyway because it was before Pentecost. That is a separate issue as to whether the manifestations are real or counterfeit. We are now the church, not the synagogue.
      3. It is irrelevant what people do in the synagogue today, or even before. We are the church, not the synagogue. And when we are in Christ, we don’t separate men from women. There is no male or female in that sense, no Jew or Greek, etc. We are all one in Christ.
      4. The gifts are for today, but these are not them.

  7. I know some people are afraid to criticize adherents of this so-called “anointing,” due to the fear instilled in them. The “ministers” of this “move of God,” threaten those who say anything against them, that they will be guilty of “blaspheme of the Holy Spirit,” the only unforgivable sin, but I can emphatically state that it is not the Holy Spirit that is “slaying” these individuals at these meetings. I have experienced first-hand the wickedness that took place in Pensacola, and the Spirit of God inside of me grieved over what I was witnessing, especially what was happening to the little children!

I recently posted an article to my website entitled, “The Definitive Truth,” that explain my views on this vital issue that is, and has been for some time, adversely affecting God’ people. I believe it is one of the tools that Satan is using to cause innocent, unsuspecting people to “fall away” from God, as prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. https://truelightpublications.com/2019/04/07/the-definitive-truth/

Please realize if you have been caught up in this “movement,” God can rescue you from the Power of Darkness, if you call upon the name of the LORD from a sincere and repentant heart! I will continue to pray for God’s people! And if you are a Christian, I hope you will too! I leave you with one of my favorite passages from the Holy Scriptures!

    With the love of Christ,
    C. Read

1 Peter 5:6-11 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
