September 2021

Dear Lighthouse Trails readers:

Some of you may remember that in 2010, we relocated Lighthouse Trails to Montana. In so many ways, it’s been a wonderful place to run the ministry. However, for various reasons, some of which we mention below, we made the decision to return to Oregon.

For the last few years, it has been an ongoing struggle to acquire the hired help we need, partly because we live in an area that has a low employee pool. This has presented a lot of stress and challenge for us.

We began praying about moving back, but without clear direction from the Lord, we put that thought on a back burner.

In  March of this year, Deborah was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. Needless to say, it shook up our world. After surgery, we were told that the cancer had spread to just one lymph node (which made it a “low-risk” Stage 3 cancer). While scans and blood work indicated there was no metastasizing, Deborah was advised to do 3 months of chemotherapy. That is now completed, and recent tests continue to show no more cancer. The doctors told us they consider her in remission. We have also been able to receive ongoing medical advice from an integrative oncologist in Oregon, who has helped us apply natural means to lessen the negative effects of chemotherapy. We are so grateful to the Lord that Deborah has remained strong and resilient throughout her treatments.

Consequently, after finding out about the cancer and after much prayer and counsel, we decided to return to Oregon where we have strong family and ministry support and continue running Lighthouse Trails there. We have hesitated until now to tell our readers about our situation because we know many of you are also going through health and other challenges, and we did not want to put any special focus on our own.

Our last day in Montana was August 31st.  Our office will be closed until September 7th as we make the move, but phone messages may be left and will be returned as needed. Plus, our websites and online store are always available for your service.

We look forward to continuing the work of Lighthouse Trails and are putting our trust wholly in the Lord to provide the grace and strength to finish the race that He has set before us. God bless each of you, and may we take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support and prayers.

David and Deborah Dombrowski
Lighthouse Trails Founders

P.S. We will be posting new phone numbers and mailing addresses soon. In the meantime, you may continue using the contact information on our websites.

Update on Deborah: In November 2021 – three months after completing a three-month course of cancer treatment – CAT scans and blood tests show no sign of any cancer activity, and Deborah was told to return in six months to continue bi-annual checking for the next few years. We want to thank all of those who prayed for her these last few months, and we thank the Lord for His mercy and kindness.

I/we have been a small part of Lighthouse Trails for 15+ years. We thank God for you and this awesome ministry that God has raised up “for such a time as this”. The article in today’s newsletter from North of Toronto, is so right on, as to what is and isn’t going on here in Canada. The church, for the most part, is bowing down to the “altar of the government”. It’s only pastors like Pastor James Coates (Grace Life Church near Edmonton), Pastor Tim and Pastor Artur (from Calgary) and a couple more that have stood up to the tryanny of governments here, provincially and federally. It’s really a pathetic situation. However, we are in that “Time of Departing” that Ray Youngen wrote so elequently about in his book by the same name. We should not be surprised, for sure. Thank you sor your service to the cause of Christ and His church. May we be ready for him to come for His Church, whenever that time comes. God bless!

  2. I have been away for quite some time, and I just read this very distressing news about Deborah today… I AM very sorry to hear what you all have been going through. I pray that God will be with you! You will be in my prayers to the LORD! Take care!

Please, if possible or not being invasive, please let us know how Deborah, our precious sister in Christ, is doing. But only if you feel we need to know.

I did not know until 10 minutes ago that you, Deborah, have been dealing with this terrible illness. I want to offer my deepest sympathy to you over what you are dealing with. I will be asking God to please heal you and restore your health and also for peace for you and your family. I have had more help and education from your site and that of Berean Call than any other sites on the web. The work that you do is of the greatest value. I thank God for you people. Connie

I’m so sorry to hear of your suffering, Deborah, but happy to hear that you are pulling through with our Lord’s help directly and through His medical helpers. I hope the move back to Oregon turns out to be a great decision. Thank-you and everyone at Lighthouse Trails for your dedicated service to Jesus. May he bless you all, always. ………..a sister of yours in Jesus, “LW”…………..

We will pray for you. We will pray That Deborah makes a full recovery from cancer with no complications. We will pray the Lord gives you the help you need. We will pray for your protection in Oregon. God Bless all of you that have kept lighthouse trails as a beacon of light for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Christians, when was the last time you went to Calvary? Erich Sauer wrote of Calvary; “ Of all times it is the central point; of all love it is the highest point, and of all Salvation it is the starting point. Today 9-5-21, is The Lords Day A day of Heavenly Grace. To treat as a day appointed by the Church is to lower the character and authority of the first day of the week. Neither Creation, nor law ,nor human arrangement has anything to do with it. It tells the Born Again Christian to proclaim His Death till He comes for us. Maybe today? Amen, even so, come Lord Jesus

May the Lord continue to be your refuge and strength as He goes before you and plans your steps. Thanks be to God for Deborah’s remission and the open arms of family and friends to love on and support you both. May He continue to bless the work of your hands! Thank you for your ministry which brings your readers a wealth of information, wisdom and discernment.

  13. Crystal

Sorry to hear about the trying time you have both had lately and praise God that He has granted Deborah remission….this is wonderful news.
I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and Lighthouse Trails in the foreseeable future and that the move will prove pivotal in your new move and that you will see His goodness in your new/old setting.
Blessings and shalom and thank you so much for all that you do to keep brothers and sisters informed and equipped. 🙂

  15. Lydia Langbein
