PORTSMOUTH – What kid doesn’t like painting? How about storytelling and dressing up in period costumes? Maybe they love playing computer games or doing cool science experiments? Dancing? Music? Watching a video?
Infuse this fun with peace on earth, good will toward men, and you have Sunday school 2007 at Middle Street Baptist Church….
After months of hard work and preparation, the church’s Sunday school department this fall officially did away with traditional classroom instruction and renamed itself “The Potter’s Mansion” instead….
Sunday scholars at Middle Street Baptist alternate through a total of 10 freshly painted rooms week to week. Each room has a particular purpose and theme and is painted and decorated accordingly. Among the rooms is The Garden Grotto, where science and nature are explored. The Temple Courtyard serves as a multipurpose room for games, spiritual formation, missions and more. The music and movement room is called The Psalms and Songs Conservatory. The Artisan’s Market is for arts and crafts. The Apostles’ Theatre is where drama, puppetry and storytelling occur….
