    Nice article!!!
Probably the biggest self-contradiction in Calvinism is – the assertion that humans are granted the function of choice.

If we look at any number of dictionaries – for the COMMONLY understood inferences of the word “Choice” – what we will find is a repeating pattern.

A NECESSARY CONDITION of “Choice” is more than one option available – in order to constitute what we understand as a “Choice”. i.e. [A] vs [NOT A]

Calvinism entails a FIXED and CLOSED future.
For every human event and every human impulse – there is never granted more that ONE SINGLE PREDESTINED RENDERED-CERTAIN option.

No Option(S) + No ability to refrain = NO CHOICE

In PURE Calvinism – the creature is not held responsible for what he is FOUND to be/do. He is MADE morally responsible.

Calvinists today however – struggle with this aspect of the belief system. They want man to be held responsible for the choices he makes. By doing this they deny PURE Calvinism – and defer to an Arminianized form of Calvinism – where the future is treated *AS-IF* it is not FIXED at the foundation of the world.

As a consequence – Calvinism today is a constant tap-dance – back and forth between asserting Divine Determinism in one statement – and denying it in another.

    Matthew 7:7–8 (NIV)
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
    Romans 10:13 (NIV)
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
    2 Peter 3:9–10 (NIV)
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
    10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar;
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right(power, authority) to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and…

The Bible CLEARLY teaches that every Christian was predestined to believe. Eph. 1

The Bible also CLEARLY teaches that every person is responsible for their choices. Mt. 25:31-46

The question is NOT which of these teachings is true. The proper question is how can BOTH of these teachings be true.

I believe when the Trinity ‘decided’ to do all of this, they first ‘sat down’ to work on a plan that would satisfy all of their purposes (forgive the anthropomorphisms). They looked over every possible plan and chose the best. That is the plan they set into motion and it WILL play out as they planned it to.

In one plan I FREELY chose not to marry the woman who is now my wife. In another, I FREELY chose never to have children. in another, I FREELY chose to turn my back on the Holy Spirit’s call and reject Christ. In THIS plan I FREELY chose to marry my wife, FREELY chose to have four children with her and FREELY chose to accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour.

This is the plan that God chose and everything He planned to happen WILL happen EXACTLY as He planned it to happen. I WILL make the FREE choices that were inherent in the plan when He set it into motion.

In short everyone who believes in Jesus Christ has been predestined to FREELY choose Jesus Christ as their Saviour. All those who do not will not be able to claim God predestined them to destruction because they FREELY made that choice themselves and will be held responsible for it..

    That’s the…

Outstanding. Calvinism is not from above but from below. Totally man driven and nothing to do with the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD and his WORD!!! AGAIN OUTSTANDING!!👍☝🙏

I agree, very well put. God is sovereign and although predestination is in the Bible, we can’t force God to use man’s definition of the word. Also I should think the Calvinist ought to stop getting us to CHOOSE their side. Doesn’t that defeat the whole point?

Than you for your thorough research of man’s ability to make decisions. I too, used to struggle with that concept, however the distinction is not whether man can think and make decisions, the argument is that man does not choose SALVATION based on scriptures such as Eph 1:4-5 “..HE chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love HE predestined us to adoption..”
and Roman’s 8:29 For those whom HE foreknew, HE also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son..
The issue is not so much “choice” but Gods predestination–Him choosing our destiny.
Do we have choices and can we reason? Definitely!
Can we choose salvation? I dont see that consistent with scripture.

Is God sovereign over everything? If not, the Bible does not make sense. Can we call it a limited free-will? It is a hard concept. God knows the evil that is hard for us to imagine. Just reading through 2 Kings one can see the evil that existed and still exists. It is so visible today. We do not know who will have eternal life in the future but He uses us to witness and disciple to bring more to Him. The Bible uses the term elect whether we like it or not.

Excellent work Brother. Christians get this Book now. God ordained everything? Fatalistic view of life? Nothing we can do about it? Calvinism is a one-sided theology. Are some being confused with false doctrines? How many Churches are preaching the gospel? How many Churches have fallen from teaching God’s Holy Word? Do people still read their Bibles? Do big Churches help people hide from the truth? Are young people being taught anything at home? We are living in dark days. Pray for young and older people that need to hear the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Time is running out.

Pink, Boettner, Calvin (‘peace be upon him’; nope), Augustine, Luther, White, Spurgeon, MacArthur . . . the list of deceivers is endless; however, their god is a sadistic, insecure, neurotic control freak. In other words, their god is not the God of the Bible.
“Hellvinism” is a superhighway to eternal separation from the Biblical God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. It is on par with any cult out there.
