Thanks for this Roger, and I know Christians are deceived and continue to be, ‘no longer hearing sound doctrine’ and having ‘itchy ears, and following false teachers, like the Purpose Driven Life, The Shake, Toronto Blessing, and NAR to name but a few, all in a Baptist Church. Now in a Calvary Chapel, thinking I would be ‘safe’ from this, they bring in ‘The Gospel Coalition,’ to endorse the Covid Vaccine…Tim Keller, who has passed away, couldn’t even decide whether homosexuality is a sin, when God says it’s an abomination, and the people become ‘reprobate’ in Romans 1. We are surely in the days of Lot and Noah. Blessings to you and family, Rachel

I have learnt to test what I hear and what I read against the Word of God. Not a cursory glance or cherry picking but by doing as thorough a study as I am able – looking at context and cross referencing and doing so prayerfully. This is not a popular approach in the modern church but I would suggest more necessary now than ever. Modern technology means that many, including pastors and elders, don’t even have a hard copy of the Bible and have not learned to ‘study to show yourself approved of God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth’ 2 Timothy 2:15. Google coughs up themes and verses from man’s ideas and understandings ready made for sermon preparation and they are happy to feed this to the flock. The sad thing is that these men and women (pastors and elders) believe that they are teaching God’s truth and are not open to question. They forget that with their calling to be ministers of the gospel and shepherds of God’s flock they have a responsibility before God and will be held accountable. ‘Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.’ Mark 9:42. Maybe if they had this type of verse in view they would be less ‘frivolous’ with their ministries.

    Hi Roger,
I appreciated your article! As we know, there is no person who has not been deceived & the person I was fooled by was Gwen Shaw back in the day & the Lord showed me that my being fooled by her also tied me into a web of deception of some of the ones she was in association w/. I even wrote a document entitled Web of Deception. That’s how I see today’s deception…it’s a WEB that is a net that ties in one to another to another. All the “christian” celebrities are tied together & under a spell. It’s a frightening thing to see someone I really care about be sincerely loving Christ & not see the truth about this as yet. I am asking Jesus to take the veil off their eyes as He did for me & I believe that is what will take place!
On another note, I’d like you to use your discerning & research skills & find out what age we are really in. I ache every time I see someone is caught up in the doctrine that was passed on down to us from the church system & that is that we are in the last days/end times. You can also check w/ Don K Preston, Rebecca Davis, Jeff Durbin & there are so many others from the past & in the present but I don’t have the list here in front of me. Please ask our Lord & look for the truth & as you use exegesis & not eisegesis, you will find it so clearly. In Christ, Donna G

Jeremiah 17:9 being helped by Strong’s Concordance: “The heart” (mind, thinking, understanding, conscience, memory, knowledge, emotion, and will) “is deceitful” (sly, insidious, slippery) “above all things,” (totally, about anything and everything) “and desperately” (incurably weak) wicked. “Who can understand” (perceive, discern, know through experience, have wisdom, be instructed, have revelation, learn anything) “it?” This is still true for every believer. We have to depend on Jesus Who is the Truth, that is, the only source of truth on Earth.(John 14:6) Can we ever stop being so needy? Can we walk in victory without being a Berean?

This article is spot on. I would also like to see something about Christians turning to adhering to Torah teachings, wearing yamikas, eating only certain foods, etc.

Another Excellent article by Lighthouse Trails. Are Christians praying, reading and studying their Bible ? Or are they coming to church to be spoon-fed by the Pastor? How many Churches Brake Bread every Lords Day to proclaim our Lords Death till He comes for us? The Old Testament has 7 Feasts and the New Testament has 1 Feast to Remember the great cost of our Redemption. Do we prepare to give thanks? We should . Our Heavenly Father wants us to continually remember His Son The Lord Jesus Christ. The One who Loves us that washed our sins away with His own Blood. Pray Christians Pray!!!

You need no man to teach you.
    1 John 2:19-20, 27:

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

I see the terrible lack of discernment in those Christians who are enamored with so-called “Christian” movies like The Shack, Heaven is Real, and now with the new series, “The Chosen”. So much is so clearly unBiblical and yet members of The Gideons along with a local pastor and his wife who are “using The Chosen” as a way to reach her unsaved father are suckered in to these heresies!! How quickly they forget that a little leaven leaventh the whole lump (Gal 5:9). I

It looks like Rick Warren is retiring from Saddleback. Sad to see Al Mohler still deceiving many of the Saints, even though he agrees with Critical Race Theory and sounds dubious on the gay and transgender movement?? These are perilous times! Lord, help us!

My mom’s pastor is teaching the Bosonic String Theory as a Sermon Series. I believe it is TM Transcendental Meditation. One of the current scientist believes that by 2030, all the intellectually advanced will be able to “transport” themselves between the heavens and into heaven with God. What in the world is wrong with these people for allowing an Assembly of God pastor the freedom to have a series of sermons dedicated to a New Age program Luke this. The pastor has posted videos on YouTube. He’s very “proud” of himself and his intellect. This pastor is in love with Rick Warren, and many others who’ve dragged nonsense into that church. It pains me to see this happen to [this] church. I raised my 3 kids there and my father-in-law was my pastor there for 18 years. I called the Assemblies of God Headquarters to check if the pastor and the church was still licensed withe their organization, and he is and the church is. All you have to do is Google “Bosonic String Theory” to open a can of very large worms. Has anyone researched this. I welcome all help and Comments..

Right on target, you cannot serve 2 masters. Matt. 6 and 23 are directed at the sins of loving the praise of men above the approval of God.
In the last days men will become lovers of themselves. Textbook narcissism. Their incapable of esteeming even God above themselves.
Thus the appeal of this business corporation TEAM BUILDING paradigm.
It’s no longer about who is against Jesus, now it’s all about who isnt on the pastors team. To become and remain popular without effort requires being a phony who pretends to love each individual in the flock.
Jesus commanded Peter thrice to feed HIS sheep. that’s not possible even by the exegesis of an epistle.
That’s apologetics line upon line precept upon precept…they then and only then can boldly defend the faith.
