This false teaching has taken over even THE CONSERVATIVE BAPTIST CHURCHES…on The West Coast. They have now “renamed” themselves = …”Covenant Community” So as not to offend ??? The new pastor of Auburn Grace Community now has lead this church into Charismaia, Domionism, and false signs and wonders. The books in this churches library are new age, false prophets, and encourage new Christians to be lead astray. From the simple truths in God’s Word, The Bible. “hearing the whispers” or Contemplative prayer is the norm now. Lies, whims, ego, teaching things JESUS THE CHRIST! Never, ever taught or recommended! Is now the entire service. Add on 45 mins. of new age choruses repeated until you want to drop. AT TOP VOLUME!!! Is the only way to hear music within most churches today. It is a sad day, to see a wonderful 60+years old ministry of A Conservative Baptist Church…. Go into heresy. The Adult Bible Sunday School is not now listed in The Bulliten! Why? ..fear someone might look up the false teacher and teachings the leadership is infiltrating within the innocent congregation. What a sad day, to see this happening. And even sadder to know the rest of the churches for 50 miles around you!…are all infested with the same false teachings. Churches of The Tares 1 and all.

What is wrong about trying to listen to God thru stillness, HUMILITY – in peace? The Holy Fathers of the church have been practicing the contemplative prayer for 2000 years. Yet, we, with our church of like mindedness and modernity think we have it right by our interpretation of scripture? I could attempt to cite 1K scriptures that would refute 30 percent of what is going on in the modern protestant church. BTW, citing Merton as your understanding of contemplative prayer is probably the first issue you have. Love Merton, but don’t think you start there.

“And when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father, the One in secret. And your Father, the One seeing in secret, will reward you” (Matt. 6:6). This verse is very much about the contemplative life – for the inner room is the inner life where God resides. Contemplation is nothing to fear, for it is the quiet reception of Christ within. Truly, if you are born of the Spirit, then is not the Spirit within? If so, then it makes sense to quietly reflect and contemplate what the Spirit of God within you is saying to you. There is nothing extra-biblical about this – for it seems that it is the other traditions of the East that mimic Christ.

I was shocked and distressed to find this practice in my own church…under the guise called “listening prayer”. I went to the leader of prayer ministry, wanting prayer, (based on the Word) and hoping to find encouragement through confession. (James 5:16). What I found was confusing, not biblical, and harmful to those who do not understand that the Cross is the Finished Work of our Saviour. We must pray for discerning, wisdom and boldness to confront these harmful practices.

Incredible article to say the least. Our Lord Jesus spoke clearly to those who wander and go astray when he said,”“Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by its roots. Disregard them! They are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” Matt 15:13 & 14. Also Isaiah 9:16 For those who guide this people are leading them astray; And those who are guided by them are brought to confusion. Confusion is of Satan and many will be entrapped by his cunning. We must pray for all who are being led away from the Spirit of Christ and are headed for destruction.
