If you are someone who primarily reads the King James Version (KJV), you might want to think twice before switching to Whitaker House Publisher’s relatively new King James Version Easy Read (KJVER) Bible.
It doesn’t seem like a good idea to trust a publisher that has come up with its own KJV Bible version, which also publishes the books of a large hodge podge of seriously problematic “Christian” authors. A focus on discernment and biblical integrity don’t seem to be at the top of the list for this publishing company, and one must ask, “Can I trust it to create a KJV Bible? Here’s a few categories with author names in the Whitaker publishing mix:
a. NAR/charismatic/Dominionist authors: Heidi Baker, John & Lisa Bevere, Reinhard Bonnke, Christine Caine, Mark Chironna, Randy Clark (holy laughter leader), Francis Frangipane, Nicky Gumble (Alpha Course), Marilyn Hickey, Charles & Frances Hunter, Bill & Beni Johnson (Bethel), John G. Lake
b. New Spirituality/progressive authors: Mark Batterson, Francis Chan, Steve Furtick, James Goll, Erwin McManus, Leonard Sweet, Sarah Young, (Jesus Calling author)
c. Contemplative/mystical authors: Teresa of Avila, Jean-Pierre de Caussade, John of the Cross, Desert Fathers, Madame Jeanne Guyon, Michelle McKinney Hammond, Brad Jersak, Brother Lawrence, St. Therese of Lisieux, The Cloud of Unknowing, Richard Rohr
If you are thinking of switching to Whitaker’s Easy Read KJV Bible, we hope you will consider this short cautionary note.

The Whitaker House Publisher’s ”author’s” list is a who’s-who of all the usual heretics. This KJVER piece of trash belongs in the can along with anything written by any of those “author’s.”
Is this version the same as a new one called “The Pure Word”? The only thing I heard is that it is a ‘new’ King James Version. Please give me your take on that.
