LTRP Note: The following letter to the editor is written by a Christian man who became involved with Reiki (a form of energy healing). As Lighthouse Trails has been warning for many years, Reiki is dangerous; and yet, many Christians (not to mention the countless number of non-Christians) are participating in it, often/usually ignorant of its occultic roots. Dear Lighthouse Trails:
I am writing to help support your warning and exhorting of Reiki as a “healing modality.” My wife and I got “Attuned” approx. ten years ago to Level One. I remember feeling a certain buzz and got curious enough to document this feeling of energy that I had. So I went to get an Aura Picture done. The shop owner described the white spots on my shoulders was an Angel Guide that was honoring me into the art of Reiki. I fell for her evaluation and progressed through the next two levels and attained Master/Teacher. My wife and I practiced for ten plus years and bought crystals, Chakra stones, made energy grids, etc. We bought a table for clients also. All total this was about $700.00 worth of Reiki related stuff.
We were listening to a series of Sermons on the occult, and we felt convicted to look into the issue further. I Googled “Is Reiki evil or occult ?” and was shocked further. We both tried to find supporting Scripture and thought there was some in the Bible we could apply. Everyone is guilty of picking a verse or two that sounds good and saying that validates their certain activity or belief at the time. We were guilty of this.
Once we discovered what the reality of what we were doing really was, we gathered everything together and made a deposit in our dumpster. It was a clean break without regret. We renounced any and all things Reiki at once and have since been on a path of repentance.
I say all this, to our shame, that we were so deceived in the name of healing others. My purpose in writing is to help others understand that there are many attempts from Satan trying to lead us astray. The sad fact is that occult can be anything that promises you power or fame or fortune and connects you to the Unseen World.
In closing, I would like to say the shop owner was correct about there being an Angel behind me.The Angel of Darkness.

Yes, thank you, I do understand this completely.
It’s best to put “heal” in quotation marks. More accurately, what happens is that symptoms of an ailment will alleviate under demonic influence. When a person repents of submitting to an occult practitioner, they need freedom from the evil spirit(s) when they renounce their involvement. This is a freedom Jesus is happy to give us in his authority and triumph by the Cross. “The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s works…”
We are warned in God’s Word that in the end time many false christs would arise. The Jesus that people in the New Age refer to is not the Biblical Jesus. It is a false New Age Christ.
Think about where and how Reiki began. It began in a country that worships many idols. Nothing good can come from a religion that rejects the one true God, the Creator of the Universe and adopts false, evil gods. Even Satan himself can do miracles; the antichrist will perform miracles and appear peaceful in the beginning.
We are all angels??? Chapter and verse please…
Ray Yungen predicted a few years before he passed away in 2016 that now that Yoga had entered the church, Reiki would be next. Here’s an excerpt from his book For Many Shall Come in My Name that is some sober food for thought:
Those “old, outlived structures” are referring basically to biblical Christianity (i.e., the Cross). So the question is, where are these Reiki practitioners being “led and guided” to if it is not toward the beliefs of God’s Word? There are only two directions to go in this life – toward the Cross or away from it. Tragically, Reiki and other New Age practices are taking people away from it.
Oh wow, where to begin? Some of these comments leave me wishing I had a V8!
Reading the comments of those that are deceived into thinking reiki is a good thing saddens me but, does not surprise me. I pray all of you realize you are CHOOSING to harden your hearts. I know you don’t see it right now but, I beg you to get on your knees and cry out to Jesus for the One and ONLY TRUTH!!! Many of you spoke His name or spoke of the Light as if you have a personal relationship with Him. If that is true, I not only beg but CHALLENGE you to cry out to Him and ask if what you are defending is Truth. I also challenge you to study the wiles of satan, educating yourselves about his tactics and about the original lie.

I’m a Catholic and a Lightworker. My gift comes from God. We are all Angel’s in human form. It’s up to us to live our lives accordingly. Gene you are correct in the way you feel. Mislead, yes. Your job is to comfort,ease someone’s sorrow and pain. Please don’t mistake your gift as darkness. My brother you are a Lightworker. Dig deep into your soul and you will see your guardian angels and Ascended masters are guiding you to your soul purpose. The Heavens applaud you. Reiki is just the name. What it involves is universal love, the source from where we all come from. This energy existed before it was rediscovered, and it is available to all. We all have the ability to act from compassion towards ourselves and towards every living being. Let’s help each other and lift each other up.
Craig, Arch Angles are those angles that simply exist in an arch form (in other words: any way you meditate and visualize them into being). Some sharp, intelligent ones come at 45 degrees, some come in at a flat 180 degrees. The subtle but most advanced Arch Angles clock in at 360 degrees but then take a century or so to get back to a more comfortable upstanding 90 degrees. There are even very bashful Arch Angels; they rock up at 1 degree. Yes, I know we’re poking fun but I simply have to; no, not at Thom’s expense at all, and I want him to understand it. I’m simply trying to sound as ignorant and foolish as possible about a topic that is so crucial. Reiki and friends are not games . . . that’s my point.

It amazes me what the weak minded will chose to blame. Reiki I just a label for energy healing. It has nothing to do with evil or being ”man made”.. Just wow 😮 we are all made of energy that flows through our blood. ”The power in the blood” That is how we are made in the likeness of God, is God evil? I don’t think so. All is made of energy. Every single thing. It’s important to our physical health in this physical plane that the energy flows freely through our bodies, chakras are simply where that blood gathers, where our organs are is where the chakras are. It makes simple sense . It’s not hocus pocus, magic or evil it’s just science, it’s just God and how we are made and it’s all about healing the body,( like proper diet and vitamins) this is how God made us and we were made to connect with one another in this way. It’s not about replacing the Lord in our lives. (Actually it enhances the connection to the creator and Jesus.) That has nothing to do with it. Would you tell someone who was ill not to see a doctor or that they don’t need their vitamins? Certainly not.
(Reiki ) is the energy of unconditional love of the most high for the highest good. Where could someone’s mind possibly be to turn such good into something evil or bad for themselves? You do realize THAT has to do with your own intent and your own THOUGHT processes. Which obviously is negative and fear based Thinking.. You can not and should not blame a healing modality for leading you down a wrong path. It’s your fearful negative mind that brought you to where you are, not an energy healing modality.
Agree! I am so tired of the judgement from “Christians”. I have a better relationship with God due to Reiki and I so tired of people saying it’s the devil and not God I am talking too. Ok, sure. While I write my childrens books and started a nonprofit for children too…yup, I listen to the devil….
Totally agree Kate. I do something similar as a massage therapist that utilizes Reiki. God is love and love heals in many many ways.

Dear Gene,
Reiki is a subtle yet powerful form of hands-on, energy healing. Jesus performed hands-on healing and he taught that we could do as he did. He also taught us to love each other and to know ourselves. He was a change maker in his time. He led people to more understanding and acceptance. That is why Jesus is my teacher. I no longer claim to be Christian as too many Christians have gone to the dark side by judging and misleading others.
Reiki is hands-on healing that clears away stress, anxiety, the constant mental chatter and progamming we have. Clearing this interference brings us closer to God.
I healed myself from depression using Reiki and I have helped many others to heal themselves, just as Jesus taught.
The good news is that once you are attuned to Reiki, you are attuned for life. Your hands are always channeling this universal healing energy. So no matter how much you try to denounce Reiki, you are still channeling this energy.
The only reason I can find that religion (especially the Christian religion which is supposed to be teaching what Jesus taught) tries to say that Reiki is bad, is that once you clear all the negativity with Reiki you can no longer be controlled by what doesn’t make sense.
I see the light and will continue to shed light so others can find their way to more meaning and purpose.
Please stop putting down what you don’t understand. Do more hands-on healing on yourself to rid yourself of the negativity you are spreading.

Very well said John J. One of the biggest lies and deception that satan tells people is they need more than just the Lord. Through all these man made practices, like Reiki and all the other occult practices, the focus is always on something other than Christ. We who know Him as our Savior know He is our healer. I pray today for all who are so blind and are following worldly ideas and satan inspired healing methods. Thank you to Gene and Lighthouse Trails for publishing this much needed article.

Really, I would advise you to educate yourself first and read Warren Smith’s book too. I’m sure Lighthouse Trails would send you the book with love, and without cost too.
Reiki and every New Age technique (including acupuncture, Chinese medicine, etc.) is no laughing matter. Who is the Father of lies, of deception?
To top it all, you were most probably under some hypnotic suggestion too (another New Age technique while being “treated.”
I’d love you to see the true light. Light can dispel darkness, but darkness can’t dispel true light.
This is very misguided. I feel sorry for the authors as they don’t understand that dark energy is clearly guiding them. The truth is very clear when the mind control, fear and programming are removed. I wish you both the best and sincerely hope that the light of God is what eventually ends up guiding you.
Reiki is a form of meditation. Jesus meditated. Reiki is spiritual. Reiki is not a religion. Christians who think Reiki is evil are not aware of benefits of meditation. Connecting with the universal life force energy is connecting with God. We are part of the universe. Everything is part of the universe. God created everything. Connecting is no evil. A quite meditation or prayer works wonders. God is happy to help us thru meditation. Again Jesus meditated.

I have had quite a different experience with the Divine Acended Masters, Arch Angles and my spirit guides. Reiki can do no harm to anyone. Reiki is all about Divine Love . Black magic is very different from Reiki. And I believe that is what you experienced.
This is such crap. Reiki is not the occult. It uses healing energy, the same way acupuncture does. I’ve had chronic pain that my doctor wanted to “fix” with multiple medications. Instead of poisoning my system, I used acupuncture and reiki to heal myself, without drugs. Educate yourself before condemning. There are many other books out there besides the work of fiction known as the bible.
As a massage therapist/level one reiki therapist, I pray for every client I see. I ask God to guide my hands and each session. I envision God embracing me and my client.
You can put God in everything you do, you just have to invite Him.
As with all things New Age (Reiki, hypnosis, NLP, witchcraft, etc.), these things don’t just pack up and leave when you proclaim yourself a Christian of whatever kind. I know of a woman who had suffered severe psychotic episodes longer than a decade after she had left her New Age practices, sexual immorality and its “music” behind. Only One can set you free: Jesus Christ and your being born-again of Him; no, not this church, not that one; not this deceiver, not that one; not this book, not that book; not this website, not that one; not this song, not that song; not this movie, not that movie; not this heretic, not that heretic; not the reformation or anything that leaked from that. Jesus Christ alone. Think carefully if you’re still prone to attacks and what you perceive to be being “possessed” by demons. There’s only one hope . . . not holy water, not organic water, not “holy land water” . . . Jesus Christ alone.
