In this heretical movie, “Jesus” claims to BE the law of Moses. But the true Christ said He came to FULFILL the law of Moses. (Matthew 5;17)
This is significant because the Chosen “Jesus” was quoting the book of Nephi, from the book of Mormon!” Run from this Satanic tool deceiving the churches.

It is not only seminarians who need to be utterly respectful and true to the Word, but all Christians.
2 Timothy 2:15 tells us “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
This show may be entertainment but it is possibly leading many astray. Those who do not handle the word (which is like a sword) carefully will be ashamed and judged by God. We are expected to handle the Word rightly and properly present its doctrines.
In Deuteronomy 12:32, we are told “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.”

When from his own admission by Dallas Jenkins that members of the LDS have attested that they see no difference between their jesus and his version of jesus, that is a big red flag that a historically authentic and biblical Jesus Christ is not being depicted.

    Dear Lighthouse Trails,
I wrote the above letter and need to correct the title of the books written by Brigham Young. I mistakenly called it “Doctrines and discourses” . The actual title is
Brigham Young Journals of Discourses . There are a number of volumes but the information regarding his Adam God theory can be found in Volume 1.
I apologize for my error and hope that it has not caused any confusion to anyone who was researching the information.

On 06/27/2022 I posted the text of a Facebook post by Jack Hibbs. The Lighthouse Trails editor asked me to provide a link for readers. I can’t figure out how to do that from a Facebook post. If anyone is interested they can look up Hibbs on Facebook and see the posts that he has made. This particular post of his was drawing attention to a news item that headlines “ Vatican official at Davos says the Church is implementing the World Economic Forum agenda”. Hibbs posted this on 06/26/2022.
    His comment on that was:

If you are a catholic, its time for you to read the Gospel of St. John chapter 3 and ask yourself, ‘when was the last time you were told by your priest that YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN to enter the kingdom of heaven?’”

Then go and read John’s other book – the Book of Revelation chapters 17 and 18 and ask yourself ‘Am I following Jesus Christ or am I following a church, a system, a pastor, priest or pope?’”

Flee any church that seeks to be a friend of the world and the agenda’s o this world.

Mr/Ms Editor I hope this helps.

ALL the cults of idolatrous humanism, including those using the name of Jesus as the idolatrous Jews used ‘Lord’ interchangeably with Baal follow the flattery & lies of that old fallen cherub: yea hath God said (casting doubt on God’s word); ye shall not surely die (eternity without Christ’s vicarious atonement, earned & self-justifying, reincarnation etc); and ‘ye shall be as gods’ (all you need is the hidden knowledge given only to the ‘worthy’ & initiated, redefining ‘elect’ etc) ……and slander God, lowering him to the level of a fallen man or karmic devil who acts arbitrarily & without holiness & truth …..’for God doth know….’

That is the essence of Mormonism whether it’ named or not; & such a depiction of the Lord Jesus Christ NOT according to the scriptures not only supports & promotes Mormonism, but all the pagan cults and MYSTERY versions of false Christianity blasphemously using & wearing the name of Jesus, wresting or deleting or totally abandoning the word of God to do so.

Those who don’t care what words are put into Jesus’ mouth in ‘dialogue’ are ripe to receive the Beast and to worship the idol coming. Careless, dead, proud Laodicea. Utterly deceived & open to anything. So open their brains fall out: professing wisdom they became fools…. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, & worshipped & served the creature more than the Creator who is forever blessed. (The perversions change ‘more’ to ‘rather’ as though they don’t worship God AND the idols, deceiving men concerning the nature of the endtimes, the sin of the endtimes, and nature of the antichrist kingdom & worship. Don’t forget, the Jews worshipped the Queen of Heaven & were judged for it, long before Mary was born ….the fake sons of God, daughters of men thing & fruit. They tried to worship God in ecumenical union with the nations & their gods….and it cost those who ignored the Prophets, the word of God, & every warning dearly.

Anytime people leave the word of God for idolatrous interpretations & the opinions, feelings etc of men, they are & will be led astray. Rome is already the head of these idolatrous humanist ‘ye shall be a gods’ antichrist cults & is in concordat with each & every one: including the Mormons. EVERY false cult in the world teaches the same lies of Satan: yea hath God said, ye shall not surely die, & ye shall be as gods. Jesus mocked the Pharisees & Sadduccees, & their nicolaitan assumptions on Psalm 82 coming of the Alexandrian corruptions with their Babylonian/Greco-Roman influences.

People either have the God who spoke & speaks the truth, & does what he says: the Faithful and True. Or some lying pretender with that old father of lies. The false shepherd & thief who comes but to lie & to steal, to destroy & to kill.

I am sure Tim LaHaye would not have endorsed such blasphemy concerning the Lord Jesus! I will do all I can to direct any soul away from such deception and out right mischaracterization of my Saviour!!

  10. Dave, regarding your last paragraph, we have provided ample evidence that is not “overly generalized” and have included actual quotes, situations, and documentation. Hopefully, you will get a chance to fully read what we have provided in several different posts including our booklet The Chosen Series: 10 Critical Concerns.

  11. Dave

I have found the Chosen to be a remarkable series in how it portrays Christ, the Apostles and the historical figures of that day. While I agree that it is important to not stray from the Biblical story especially when teaching doctrine or preaching a sermon. But, I am not that put off by how the Chosen series has added in dialogue. First of all, it is not a seminary class that only quotes from the Bible. It is a form of entertainment. And with that, it appears that the intention is to portray Christ as close to the historical biblical view as possible. But again, it is a series the will last over several episodes. Dialogue is needed to be added to transition from various scenes. I don’t have a problem necessarily with that because it appears they approach it in a worthy fashion that holds the Bible up as God’s word. Also important is that the series spends a great deal of time filling in dialogue scenes with historical background to the traditions of the Jews in that time period. I find it interesting to learn the background of this time period and of the practices and traditions spoken about in the Bible.

Also, the criticism seems to be overly generalized with assumptions made without quoting much in the way of specific pieces of evidence. Saying that it appears to represent Mormonism without providing specific details and examples doesn’t really prove your point.

I just heard an interview on a podcast with Jerry Jenkins (Dallas’ father, and author of the Left Behind series of books) and he said that he and his son have a plan for Jerry to write a series of novels now…..(get this!) based on The Chosen TV series!….not based on the Bible, but on the show. If there IS a more distorted, twisted or dangerous “copy of a copy”, I can’t think of one right now. Pray for true believers to stand firm in these times. Thanking God for you as always Lighthouse Trails!!

  13. Jeffry

Christians need to pray for Lighthouse as they bring the truth of God’s Holy word to all that will listen. God Bless them. The battle for truth rages on. Race discrimination of white people in America has been Institutionalized. Our children are being lied to. Parents please Home School as soon as you can! We live in a dangerous time.

  14. As Sandy G. pointed out, the series does promote Mormonism. It’s obscure to those who aren’t familiar with Mormonism, but very obvious to those who are . . . and damaging and dangerous to say the least. Another false christ to a sleepy church and silent leaders.

  15. Rocco Carile

I no longer watch the series as I too began to have issues with the way that Jesus was being portrayed and the liberties being taken by the writers and director of the show. However, I didn’t see anything in the show that seemed to promote Mormonism. One of the first things that bothered me, was the episode where Jesus meets Nicodemus and Nicodemus gets on his knees and begins to recite Ps. 2. Jesus tells him not to get on his knees and worship him. Jesus would never have done that. He certainly didn’t stop Thomas and others.
