Dear Lighthouse Trails:
[I] wanted to share with you some thoughts about all that is happening in the “Christian” world these days. To say the least, it is heart rending to see what is being allowed in the churches, “Bible” institutes, seminaries, what have you.
First of all, I want to encourage you in the work you are doing, though the Lord tells us that in the latter days there will be a great falling away of which we are witnessing. A couple of thoughts come to mind as I hear the response of the those who you are warning. “He that is often reproved and hardenth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy.” To reject correction or reproof is to invite destruction.
The other that comes to mind is from James 3:1. “Be ye not many teachers for you shall receive the greater condemnation.” It is a fearful thing to stand before people, few or many, and realize that we have to give an account to the Lord for what we have brought before their hearing. Whether it is of any good anymore to bring these two things up before these pastors, leaders, teachers, what have you, I don’t know. Regardless, these are solemn warnings to be heeded whether believed or not.
Yours in Christ,
From a missionary in South America
