To Lighthouse Trails:
When I was watching Obama’s Oval Office speech this evening (Sunday), I picked up on a statement that he made that was interesting:
“My fellow Americans, I am confident we will succeed in this mission because we are on the right side of history. We were founded upon a belief in human dignity that no matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or what religion you practice, you are equal in the eyes of God and equal in the eyes of the law.”
There was also another short statement he made shortly after that caught my attention as well:
“Let’s not forget that freedom is more powerful than fear. That we have always met challenges, whether war or depression, natural disasters or terrorist attacks, by coming together around our common ideals as one nation and one people. So long as we stay true to that tradition, I have no doubt that America will prevail. Thank you. God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America.”
I thought it was interesting when he made the statement “…that no matter…what religion you practice, you are equal in the eyes of God…” The statement is interesting considering how this nation is starting to merge Christianity with other religions (interfaith), which is just the starting of the One-World Religion. Also, when he said: “…one nation and one people,” he didn’t say One Nation Under God, which I found interesting. But, it also sounded like “oneness” as well. He did say though “God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America.” The funny thing is, which one? Which “god” (small g) is he referring to? At this point, it’s pretty clear he’s not referring to the One True God, God Almighty of the Bible.
I just found this information interesting and hopefully it might help piece some more information together for you guys. Here is the Full Speech video & transcript for you to watch and read!
