LTRP Note: We post the following news story with sadness. Yet, we have anticipated this coming for a while now as we began to see Alan Chambers, the founder of Exodus International and a former homosexual-turned-Christian, lean toward minimizing the serious and multi-faceted ramifications of homosexuality. We remember, back in the early days of Lighthouse Trails, we thought we saw a connection between homosexuality and the New Age. We contacted Exodus International and asked if they saw this too. They said, yes, they did. Now, a decade later, we understand more clearly what that connection is: both are part of what we call the Death Religion (e.g., homosexuality, abortion, evolution, panentheism, anti-Semitism, and pedophilia). All these things lead to death, not life. Let us pray for those who believe that these elements are “good” and life-giving. May we point the way to true life and true goodness, which is found only through Jesus Christ and His Word:
As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. Proverbs 11:19
In a statement issued by Stephen Bennett Ministries in 2007 regarding the organization’s concerns about the direction Exodus International was heading even back then, Stephen Bennett stated:
It was Jesus Christ alone who set me free from the sin of homosexuality – not an ex-gay group, not reparative therapy and not any psychologist. I was made whole by the Word of God and the blood of Jesus Christ shed for me on Calvary, and I will proclaim and offer that same hope, freedom, grace, truth and reality to all who seek it until the day that I die. I pray my brother Alan Chambers will grasp that same message. 1

“Ex-Homosexual Ministry Closes Following Apology for Judging ‘Who’s Worthy of His Kingdom’”

Exodus International, a prominent Christian ministry that has served to counsel homosexuals for nearly four decades, is closing its doors following the issuance of a public apology from its president.
“Exodus International [has been] the prodigal’s older brother, trying to impose its will on God’s promises, and make judgments on who’s worthy of His Kingdom,” President Alan Chambers, former pastor of Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando, said in a news release announcing the closing. “God is calling us to be the Father – to welcome everyone, to love unhindered.”
“For quite some time we’ve been imprisoned in a worldview that’s neither honoring toward our fellow human beings, nor Biblical,” he stated. Click here to continue reading.
