I stumbled across your website at http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/reiki.htm and feel strongly you have not done enough research on the topic to understand what Reiki is or is not. As a Reiki Master/Teacher, I can understand why you are saying what you are in the video [see video below], but this appears to be on one person’s teachings; therefore, I am going to briefly describe it and lead you to websites that I hope will provide you with a better understanding of what it is and is not.
For one thing the person in the video is citing one source of teaching and one person’s experience that could be questionable of her own psychological well-being just as there are bad Christian occult organizations, there are some bad Reiki teachings and practitioner’s, but please do not classify them all as the same. Reiki is scientifically proven and follows more closely to traditional Chinese Medicine where it follows energetic meridian lines to work and allows the person being worked on freedom and to follow their own beliefs and not the practitioners. Reiki is religiously neutral and practitioners are not asked to change any religion or spiritual beliefs they may have and is free to believe anything one chooses and is encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.
My suggestion is you view the following websites regarding Reiki, as I feel you don’t understand Reiki fully. The first website is www.reikiinhospitals.org where you can find research currently being done throughout the United States. The following is a scientific study that has been done which will help you understand Reiki from a different perspective at http://www.nursingcenter.com/pdf.asp?AID=732068 and is located under http://www.christianreiki.org/info/BishopsStatement/ResponseToBishopsStatement.htm should you have difficulty opening the document.
The following is a Christian website regarding Reiki at http://www.christianreiki.org/ and feel this will help you to have a better understanding from a religious perspective which will also lead you to the last two websites I provided.
My recommendation is you contact William Lee Rand to learn more about Reiki at the following website at http://www.reiki.org/, as I feel the websites I am providing will give you a clearer understand of what Reiki is and is not, as it is clear you are basing your information on one person.
I highly recommend you continue your own research before passing judgments about what Reiki is or is not, as it is clear through just these few websites is it is everything opposite of what you are saying. Who are you to judge what maybe gifted by God. I have seen many miracles and people healed through this alternative medicine. Please keep an open mind.
