Recently I visited a local Baptist church. In my first adult Sunday school class the teacher (also the assistant pastor) had five points of spiritual formation on the blackboard and was teaching out of Richard Foster’s Renovari Spiritual Formation Bible. Because of Lighthouse Trails and Ray Yungen’s info, I knew where things were going and left. I really enjoy Dr. J. Vernon McGee’s Thru the Bible programs. On his website there are about a half dozen Sunday Sermons done probably in the 1960’s that focus on the apostasy of the church. Some sixty years ago he, as well as many others (because of liberalism, cults, etc) felt the apostasy was already underway in full force. If they were only alive to see how much worse things are now. Yes, we need to “occupy” (Luke 19:13) but I find myself more and more crying out “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

From your quote… “Once Christianized, contemplation lost its association with divination [soothsaying] and came to signify the prayerful practice of attending to the presence of God.”

For those that want to “blow off” your warnings… what we’re getting, have we not been warned by example? Has not our military become the weak/confused LGBTQ influenced… have our borders become open to our enemies… are our leaders cowardly thieves that pillage and flee… are we, America, becoming the shameful queer the world laughs at? Are these the products of… the alluring prostitute, the mistress of witchcraft?

Nahum 3:4 because of the multitude of the prostitution of the alluring prostitute, the mistress of witchcraft, who sells nations through her prostitution, and families through her witchcraft. 5 “Behold, I am against you,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame.6 I will throw abominable filth on you, and make you vile, and will set you a spectacle. 13 Behold, your troops among you are women. The gates of your land are set wide open to your enemies. The fire has devoured your bars. 17 Your guards are like the locusts, and your officials like the swarms of locusts, which settle on the walls on a cold day, but when the sun appears, they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
