LTRP Note: As millions around the world rejoiced when the Thai boys and their soccer coach were rescued from the flooded cave in Thailand, the world also learned that the boys credited much of their survival to meditation, which they learned in the cave from their soccer coach. Now, to show their respect and sorrow for the Navy Seal who died while trying to save them, the boys (all but one) have been ordained as Buddhist novices. Let us pray for these young men that they will turn their lives over to Jesus Christ, and in so doing, find true relief and peace. And pray also for the one team member who is a Christian who is not participating in the Buddhist ceremonies.

The Blaze
Eleven of the 12 boys rescued from a cave in Thailand on July 10 have joined a Buddhist monastery as novices. The remaining boy is a Christian, and will not be participating. . . . The boys, who range in age between 7 and 16, won’t be able to become full Buddhist monks, if they choose to do so, until they turn 20. . . . Their coach, 25-year-old Ekaphol Chantawong, used to be a monk, but left to care for his grandmother. Now he has re-entered monastic life. . . . Entering a monastery could also be seen as a way to make things right after the cave debacle, and to earn good karma. Click here to continue reading.
Praise God that one is remaining steadfast as a Christian!
