By Warren B. Smith
In 1978, long before New Age leaders like Eric Butterworth, Oprah Winfrey, and Marianne Williamson attempted to distance themselves from the term New Age, New Age leader David Spangler explicitly laid out the Antichrist’s plan for becoming the universal New Age Christ. Spangler wrote:
[A]ny old Christ will not do, not if we need to show that we have something better than the mainstream Christian traditions. It must be a cosmic Christ, a universal Christ, a New Age Christ.1
Understandably, as New Age leaders and their teachings become more exposed as New Age, they begin to hide themselves and their teachings behind more positive and acceptable terms like New Gospel, New Spirituality, New Worldview, New Christianity, and New Thought. The New Age wants to be known as anything but New Age as it continues to reinvent and reimagine biblical Christianity as it paves the way for Antichrist.
To downplay the term New Age is to give false teachers, like Oprah Winfrey and Marianne Williamson, exactly what they want—not to be associated with the very New Age teachings they are bringing into the world and into the church. The New Age is in fact, an all-inclusive term for what was previously described as the occult. It is active, and it is thriving both in the world and in the church today.
The world is being spiritually manipulated to prepare the way for the Antichrist, to make him credible and to put him in power. It will be explained, and mostly believed, that Christians got it all wrong. That Jesus is not really the Christ. He is just “a” Christ. Someone like the “Master Jesus” will head up the Christian component of the New Age/New World Religion. He will explain how things “really are” and “set all things right.” The Antichrist of the New Age will be heralded and recognized as the real Christ. However, as night comes on and the world gets darker, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).
Believers must stand in the truth that the Bible’s Jesus is exactly who he says He is—Jesus Christ. We must keep the faith. We must hold fast to the name and person of Jesus Christ as we press on to the higher calling of our Lord.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)

This is much needed knowledge right now as we are on thr threshold of appearance of the Antichrist.
I am glad that Jesus Christ is God is debeted and preached well at the moment. But we need more preaching done on new age. This teaching has gone quieter than before.
Spurgeon……Decernmt is between what is true and what is almost true.
It is amazing how (mis)labels actually often represent the opposite of what the labels in fact imply. This occurs in politics, religion, education, and on and on. All too many people buy into and trust the labels without question or background research. Religion is obviously not exempt from this fatal flaw. Anything coming into our churches, or pushed on the internet, or presented to us by our friend/others should be scrutinized. Healthy God/Bible based skepticism may help keep us from the mass of deception constantly bombarding us. I much appreciate Lighthouse Trails for pointing out many of the attacks and attackers; some of which we were not aware of until LT brought them to the forefront. And yes, LT should be scrutinized also. I have personally found LT to be very reliable and true to Christianity. Unfortunately, it is my understanding that they take a lot of heat from the non-Christian players as well as and supposed “Christians”. So anytime LT publishes something – they have to expect more naysayers than positive pats on their backs for good solid research and God honoring positions.
