“The ‘Respect For Marriage Act’ Disrespects Faithful Americans”

LTRP Note: The following is posted for informational and research purposes. Since this article by The Federalist was released on 11/22/22, the “Respect of Marriage Act” has won full approval by Congress (House and Senate), and Reuters reported on 12/8/22 that President Biden is expected to soon sign it into law. Currently, this law is not expected to affect non-profit religious groups, but it will affect Christian-based businesses with the potential of leading to arrests, fines, and prison time for dissidents. LGBTQ activists, lobbyists, and lawmakers have deceitfully hidden behind (and likened themselves to) legitimate victims of racism (i.e., discrimination against someone because of his or her race) to get this law passed.

Proponents dubiously claim this bill provides religious liberty and conscience protection. They’re also making a contrived argument that the legislation is necessary to protect interracial marriage. . . .

Having manufactured the argument that interracial marriage is at risk, proponents of the “Respect for Marriage Act” now argue it is necessary to pass this legislation in order to alleviate the fear they have sown with their cynical political tactic.

In crafting this bill, sponsors have created a new legal standard that will punish Americans who “cling” to their religious beliefs despite the new orthodoxy about marriage. Click here to continue reading.

  1. What’s really sad is how so many people who claim to be Christians support Trump…. even though Trump is a supporter of gay marriage!

If Trump runs in 2024 we will certain;ly have another democrat for pres and that will wrap things up for the republic as we will be under a one party political system going forward

Desantis will be the best choice for prez in 2024
