The Fake prophets dishonor our lord. I have friends that have hardened their hearts towards those rich false fake prophets. We pray for wisdom when we speak to friends about salvation. This dispensation of grace is coming to a close. Even so come Lord Jesus!

Anne, I read at an online article that Mike Pence was raised Catholic, then left that (false) religion, was born again. That’s what I read and that’s what I was referring to.

Friends of mine used to live in the state where he was governor, they are strong born-again Christians, and they were thrilled that he became our VP. They said that he was a wonderful governor due to his faith.

Since when was Pence born again? I did research and heard his testimony in which he said he got saved at a rock concert. He claim to be a Evangelical Catholic. All our dear leaders say they are Christians.

I hear you and your concerns, just wanted to point out the fact that VP Mike Pence is no longer a Catholic — he was born again.

    I understand ALL the rest and am praying daily. I realize that H. Clinton would have been even (far) worse. {sigh}

That was in response to Charles’ comment downthread.

Jesus is so clear in His Word.

Yet, I thought of false prophets, false workers, and wolves as being “out there somewhere,” not in my church.

My church was filled with folks I liked, respected, cared about, laughed and shared good times with, and who cared about me.

When I decided to APPLY the Scriptures you reference, along with1 John 4:1, to my “right here / right now” life, I was shocked — radically.

    While I am at it . . .
    Further . . .

To my knowledge, neither has God supplied anyone with a spiritual director, a spirit guide, an ascended master, a highly evolved extraterrestrial being, a pedophile priest or pastor, a prophet who contradicts God’s Word (the Bible), a medium (spirit channeler), a diviner – nor utensils for divination, a necromancer, a soothsayer, a homosexual priest or pastor, a sorcerer / witch / wizard, an idol, nor a “window into heaven” icon.

    just sayin’ . . .

We know that we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the evil one.
    1 John 5:19

As far as I can discern (thankful for on-going correction and deeper insight from God), our adversary vents his acrimonious spewage via both his left-handed and right-handed paths of falsehood.

What I did not get in a former church was that members (and leaders) who do not actually have the indwelling Holy Spirit CANNOT, (as in – lack the capability to), live as if they do.

No wonder they did not “get me,” and I kept bumping heads with them.

In reality, we were living in two distinctly different kingdoms.

I am working at adjusting my unrealistic expectations for people who are truly without God’s grace, power, and truth in their lives.

The unspiritual [person] does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
    1 Corinthians 2:15

As far as I can discern, God has never supplied a “spiritual adviser” to anyone. The term toggles my red flag alert to the false light of counterfeit spirituality.

1 Corinthians 12 explains extraordinary, God-given gifts which nourish the Body of Believers to build ourselves up in love.

A small group (around 5 or so) of grounded believers addressing a given topic or question from God’s Word is a better source of godly wisdom and counsel than a “spiritual adviser.”

Does it not bother you that all these ‘word faith prophets’ are the ones surrounding our president? Does it not bother you that Norman Vincent Peale, a 33 degree free mason was our president’s pastor? We railed about Obama’s pastor, what about Trumps? What about his spiritual advisor which HE chose, Paula White (Rev. 2:20)? What about our presidents appointments of many Jesuits and Roman Catholics? What about the supreme court justice he chose Georgetown educated, Jesuit Bret Kavanaugh, making our supreme court mostly Catholic/Jesuit. And his Catholic Vice president Pence who is involved with the 2 scientists Fauci and Birx and Gates, and Bono, And George Soros. The woman truly rides the beast Rev. 17. This Q guy has been mentioned everywhere by commenters on conservative websites and Christian alike-even non Christian.

Does anyone else remember that David Wilkerson called such prophets “pillow prophets”? What he meant by that was that they prophesied “positive” words which were not from the Lord but were meant to appease the hearers (the Lord through Paul warned of “itching ears” in His Word”, but they were not from the Lord — neither the prophets nor the prophesies.

Jeremiah was mentioned here recently. In his day, when he was faithfully declaring the word of the Lord to unfaithful Israel that judgment was coming, indeed was at the door, a false prophet came against him (and the Lord), calling Jeremiah a liar and prophesying GOOD things to come. Sound familiar?

I remember years ago a “prophecy class” I did not attend, but a friend did. She told me that they were told they could only prophesy “good” things. Ah yes, they were in training to be pillow prophets.

There were times the Lord God DID prophesy good things to His people. He is not all gloom and doom, not at all. Whatever His people need, He is faithful and just to provide it. He is the perfect balance — His love includes discipline (see Hebrews 12). A lot of Christians forget that it is Jesus who will judge everyone, who will separate the sheep from the goats. Everyone needs to see Him as He really is.

This IS what’s going on in the NAR churches! Unfortunately, I’ve tuned into some online services to see their declaring and decreeing against the virus plus a few ‘I see someone’s right nerve in the left leg, no.. maybe the right leg being cured and the problem in someone’s Larynx healed’ all the while looking at their iPhone! Hook, line and sinker the multitudes believe! I pray for the mud to be cleansed from the eyes of those duped into believing heresy and following false teachers, and doing so joyfully! God said He would send a strong delusion so that those would believe the lie. Prophecy fulfilled!

    Lord have mercy!

It is frustrating to continually see these false prophets on t.v. I suppose the personalities with the most money can buy more time on t.v., while good Bible-based programs are omitted whenever there is a marathon.
