Follow Up from yesterday’s article: AFA has just posted a statement saying that Wal-Mart “will no longer make corporate contributions to support or oppose controversial issues unless they directly relate to their ability to serve their customers.” It is astounding that a secular corporation can make a decision like this overnight, but after three years of concerned Christians telling AFA they have been carrying pro-homosexual and pro-New Age titles in their bookstore, they have not removed all these books (countless New Age and contemplative titles remain), and yet have repeatedly told the public they have. Wal-Mart officials are setting an example that perhaps AFA should follow. So while you can now shop at Wal-Mart this weekend because AFA has cancelled the boycott, it might not be a good idea to shop at AFA.
