{"id":11632,"date":"2013-05-14T11:41:13","date_gmt":"2013-05-14T15:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=11632"},"modified":"2013-05-14T11:41:13","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T15:41:13","slug":"irs-admits-to-intentional-targeting-of-conservative-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/irs-admits-to-intentional-targeting-of-conservative-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"IRS Admits to Intentional Targeting of Conservative Groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Heather Clark<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>Christian News Network<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Washington, D.C. \u2013 The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has admitted to intentionally targeting conservative groups that included the words \u201ctea party\u201d or \u201cpatriot\u201d in their tax exempt status applications.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 75 groups were reportedly subjected to strict scrutiny during the 2012 presidential election simply because of certain key words in their applications, and were sent tedious questionnaires to dig further into their operations.
