{"id":12320,"date":"2013-07-24T08:06:04","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T12:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=12320"},"modified":"2026-07-12T19:00:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T02:00:23","slug":"letter-to-the-editor-from-australia-i-never-thought-contemplative-would-enter-my-own-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/letter-to-the-editor-from-australia-i-never-thought-contemplative-would-enter-my-own-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Letter to the Editor from Australia: I Never Thought Contemplative Would Enter My Own Church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To Lighthouse Trails:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I first read Ray Yungen\u2019s book <i>A Time of Departing <\/i>about 8 years ago and was deeply impacted by it, but I remember thinking at the time that although it was really important to be informed about this heresy, it would <b>never<\/b> surface in our fellowship.\u00a0 Well three months ago it got its foot in the door through sermons based on and the promotion of Peter Scazzero\u2019s book <i>Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. <\/i>I took my concerns to the leadership but was told by a very angry pastor that I was spiritually immature and not hearing from God.\u00a0 The elders, although very calm and courteous were also very confused.\u00a0 I am now with a small Bible believing fellowship that preaches through the Word verse by verse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thank you so much for your excellent resource-rich website and also please thank Ray Yungen for me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Yours in Christ<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>L.D.
