‘We firmly believe it’s a Buddhist practice,’ mother says<\/em><\/p>\n

A program aimed at promoting relaxation is causing stress for some Coquitlam parents.<\/p>\n

Ken and Rebecca Kavanagh are speaking out against mindfulness education in local schools, saying it contravenes B.C. legislation to keep religion out of the classroom.<\/p>\n

Last spring, actress Goldie Hawn visited a local classroom to promote a mindfulness education program developed in 2005 through her charity, the Hawn Foundation<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
