{"id":18792,"date":"2016-01-07T14:28:37","date_gmt":"2016-01-07T18:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=18792"},"modified":"2026-07-19T05:40:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T12:40:47","slug":"letter-to-the-editor-open-letter-to-anne-graham-lotz-regarding-circle-maker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/letter-to-the-editor-open-letter-to-anne-graham-lotz-regarding-circle-maker\/","title":{"rendered":"Letter to the Editor: Open Letter to Anne Graham Lotz Regarding Circle Maker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From a Lighthouse Trails reader regarding Anne Graham Lotz&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=18782\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent promotion of the circle maker concept.<\/a> <\/strong>Please read:\u00a0<a title=\"Permanent Link to The Native Spirituality \u201cMedicine Wheel\u201d and The Circle Maker\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=13869\" rel=\"bookmark\">The Native Spirituality \u201cMedicine Wheel\u201d and The Circle Maker\u00a0 <\/a>by Cree author Nanci Des Gerlaise.\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dear Anne,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have always regarded you as a very spiritual woman, but when I read that you had bought into the heresy found in the book <em>The Circle Maker<\/em>, I thought to myself, <em>how could she be so deceived?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Bible says in 1 John 4: &#8220;Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are come into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you were to type into a search engine\u00a0 \u201cThe Circle Maker\u201d you would find what I, a layman, found out about this book and this \u201cnew way\u201d of praying.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-18793\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/circle-500x502.jpg\" alt=\"circle\" width=\"220\" height=\"221\" \/>And in 2 Peter 2 : 1, \u201cBut there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Ephesians 4: 14, the Word says, \u201cThat we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind and doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And in Colossians 2: 8, the Word says, &#8220;Beware lest any man spoil you, through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jesus said, &#8220;Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required&#8221; (Luke 12: 48).<\/p>\n<p>You have been given much Anne; thus your accountability before Jesus is far greater than the hundreds, probably thousands, who are going to read what you said about \u201cThe Circle Maker\u201d and say to themselves, well, if Anne Graham Lotz believes and endorses and practices what the circle maker says, then it must be okay. BUT IT ISN\u2019T.
