What he apparently has found instead is an emerging spirituality that resonates with many emergent\/contemplative teachers as a <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090228003008\/http:\/\/board.revolutionchurch.com:80\/viewforum.php?f=8\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">recommended book section<\/span><\/strong><\/a> on Bakker&#8217;s website shows with contemplative teachers like Brian McLaren, Brennan Manning, Rob Bell and Tony Campolo. On Bakker&#8217;s &#8220;links&#8221; page, he shows his affinity with groups like Youth Specialties and Sojourners and an organization called RHOP (Revolution House of Prayer) where &#8220;ancient&#8221; forms of prayer and &#8220;emerging&#8221; spirituality are adhered to. A quote by Henri Nouwen on Bakker&#8217;s site further illustrates his sympathies towards contemplative.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to resonating with contemplative spirituality, Bakker has become outspoken in his non-biblical views about homosexuality. In <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20081007090732\/http:\/\/radaronline.com\/features\/2006\/12\/empire_of_the_son_part_iii.php\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">an interview<\/span><\/strong><\/a> with Radar, Bakker is quoted as saying: &#8220;I felt like God spoke to my heart and said &#8216;[homosexuality] is not a sin.'&#8221; On Bakker&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090512153446\/http:\/\/board.revolutionchurch.com:80\/\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">website<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, this view is consistently upheld. And in a December 15th <a href=\"http:\/\/transcripts.cnn.com\/TRANSCRIPTS\/0612\/15\/lkl.01.html\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">interview with Larry King<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, the following conversation took place:<\/p>\n<p><strong>KING:<\/strong> Would you say that you&#8217;re part of the liberal sect of Christianity?<br \/>\n<strong>JAY BAKKER:<\/strong> Well, I definitely say I&#8217;m a little bit more liberal than probably most, yes.<br \/>\n<strong>KING:<\/strong> You, for example, in your church would you marry gays?<br \/>\n<strong>JAY BAKKER:<\/strong> If the laws passed, yes.<br \/>\n<strong>KING:<\/strong> You favor there being a law, though?<br \/>\n<strong>JAY BAKKER:<\/strong> Yes, I do.<\/p>\n<p>As Lighthouse Trails has shown in previous reports, homosexuality and New Age thought go hand in hand. This &#8220;marriage&#8221; of mysticism and sexual depravity is drawing more and more people into its seducing and dangerous web.
