{"id":2995,"date":"2007-08-01T22:04:43","date_gmt":"2007-08-02T02:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=2995"},"modified":"2010-02-03T22:05:15","modified_gmt":"2010-02-04T02:05:15","slug":"major-bridge-in-minneapolis-collapses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/major-bridge-in-minneapolis-collapses\/","title":{"rendered":"Major Bridge in Minneapolis Collapses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LTRP Note:<\/strong> At this time, when Minneapolis has had this terrible disaster, we remember many of our dear friends in the Twin City area: Jan Markell, Bob DeWaay and many other believers we have come to know and love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINNEAPOLIS<\/strong> &#8212; A freeway bridge over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis has collapsed, sending many cars into the water.<\/p>\n<p>Police were telling people to leave the area amidst fears of several burning vehicles in the area. A firefighter on the scene said everybody from the north side of the bridge was pulled from the scene alive and that at least 100 vehicles were involved in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>A May 2006 evaluation of the bridge recommended monitoring of &#8220;fatigue cracking&#8221; on the bridge&#8217;s girders. The bridge was undergoing a deck rehabilitation at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n<p>Tons of concrete have collapsed and people are injured.
