The \u201cJesus\u201d of Jesus Calling <\/em>completely contradicts the sober warnings of the true Jesus Christ in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 when he states: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cThe future is a phantom, seeking to spook you. Laugh at the future!\u201d1<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In the Bible, Jesus Christ makes it clear that the future is no laughing matter. In Matthew 24 and in other verses, He describes the serious events that will transpire at the end of time as very real and not a phantom. He tells His disciples to \u201cnot be troubled\u201d by these future happenings, but He does not<\/em> tell them to take the future lightly or to laugh at the future. Rather, He tells them to watch and be ready and to not be deceived by the false Christs and false prophets that will come in His name (Matthew 24:3-5, 24, 42, 44).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the book of Revelation, Jesus prophesies of God\u2019s impending judgment and about a very real battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). Ecclesiastes 3:4 says there is \u201ca time to weep, and a time to laugh,\u201d and the true Jesus makes it very clear that the future is not<\/em> something to laugh at or laugh about. Rather, He warns in Matthew 24 of the increased hatred and persecution toward Christians that will be taking place\u2014that we may even be killed for our faith. It is definitely a time to be taken most seriously. Only a false \u201cChrist\u201d would tell people to laugh at the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not surprising that the false \u201cChrist\u201d of A Course in Miracles<\/em> promised that \u201c[t]he world will end in laughter.\u201d2 Nor is it surprising that this false \u201cJesus\u201d of the New Age and the \u201cJesus\u201d of God Calling<\/em> and of Jesus Calling <\/em>place an unbiblical emphasis on laughter rather than the watchfulness, sobriety, steadfastness, and prayer that is called for in Scripture.
Ecclesiastes 7:3-4 says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In Luke 21:19, Jesus Christ does not say \u201cin your laughter possess ye your souls\u201d but, rather, \u201cIn your patience possess ye your souls.\u201d In regard to the future, the true Jesus Christ tells us to count the cost<\/em> (Luke 14:28), not look for laughs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. (Luke 6:25)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
