LTRP Note: <\/strong>The following news story is posted for informational and research purposes. At various times over the years, Lighthouse Trails challenged the ministry of Ravi Zacharias regarding its promotion of contemplative spirituality and contemplative figures such as Thomas Merton and Henri Nouwen. At one point, a LT reader was able to personally hand Ravi Zacharias (who was born in India) a copy of Out of India, <\/em>which warns about these mystical teachers. To his credit, he came out with a statement <\/a>several years ago renouncing his earlier accolades for Henri Nouwen even though some in his ministry have continued promoting contemplative spirituality<\/a> on the ministry website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravi Zacharias, the prominent Christian apologetics author and speaker, died Tuesday at the age of 74 following a battle with a rare form of cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
