Hoogland was denied bail, and Justice Michael Tammen issued&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitchute.com\/video\/36zCr267yjsE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an oral decision<\/a>&nbsp;last Friday confining Hoogland to prison until his case is tried on April 12, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hoogland\u2019s arrest has garnered&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/father-arrested-jailed-for-contempt-after-referring-to-his-daughter-as-she\">significant<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240304114021\/https:\/\/stream.org\/this-is-child-abuse-this-is-madness-this-must-stop\/\">attention<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpost.com\/news\/b-c-father-arrested-held-in-jail-for-repeatedly-violating-court-orders-over-childs-gender-transition-therapy\">nationally<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/canadian-father-jailed-for-speaking-out-about-gender-transition.html\">internationally<\/a>, and prompted an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240814212046\/https:\/\/lifepetitions.com\/petition\/man-accused-of-misgendering-his-own-daughter-must-be-released-from-canadian-jail\/?utm_source=PT_BC_FATHER_JAILED&amp;utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com&amp;utm_campaign=68b73e2e11-MV-BC-FATHER-JAILED-3-19-21&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_12387f0e3e-68b73e2e11-404965177\">online petition<\/a>&nbsp;for his release. Noted psychologist and author Jordan Peterson&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250115122651\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/jordanbpeterson\/status\/1372772569837801477\">tweeted<\/a>&nbsp;about the case repeatedly last Thursday,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220905075711\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/jordanbpeterson\/status\/1372407638273720321\">pointing out<\/a>&nbsp;that he had predicted such imprisonment was \u201cinevitable\u201d back when he took his stand against the \u201cpronoun laws\u201d in Canada\u2019s Bill C16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/03\/01\/canadian-court-rules-parents-cant-stop-14-year-old-taking-trans-hormones\/\">previously reported<\/a>, the BC Supreme Court ordered that Hoogland\u2019s daughter should begin receiving testosterone injections when she was 14 years old, regardless of parental consent. The court\u00a0further declared \u00a0that if either of the girl\u2019s parents referred to her \u201cas a girl or with female pronouns,\u201d that parent would be considered guilty of family violence.
