{"id":3607,"date":"2010-02-06T15:37:32","date_gmt":"2010-02-06T19:37:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/?p=3607"},"modified":"2026-08-31T11:03:54","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T18:03:54","slug":"divination-and-contemplative-forbidden-by-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com\/blog\/divination-and-contemplative-forbidden-by-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Divination (and Contemplative): Forbidden by God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>by Chris Lawson<\/strong><br \/>\nSpiritual Research Network<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Divination: any attempt to foretell the unknown by occult means<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"white-space: nowrap;\">It is very clear that the God of the Bible strictly forbids all forms of divination.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><strong>This includes all forms of mediumship, channeling, witchcraft [Wicca], occultism, psychic, fortune telling, tarot cards, reading tea leaves, etc.\u00a0 <\/strong>Divination is forbidden by God because it unlocks the door to the world of the demonic and spiritual deception.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Leviticus 19:31\u00a0 &#8211; <\/span><\/em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\"><em>Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards <\/em><\/span><\/strong><em><\/em><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Leviticus 20:6 &#8211; <\/span><\/em><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">1 Samuel 15:23 &#8211; <\/span><\/em><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Divination also includes forms of Contemplative Centering Prayer whereby contact with the spirit world [demonic] can easily be made. \u00a0<\/span> <\/strong>This occult prayer method [which many Christianize] can and does oftentimes lead to the full conversion of ones spirituality to a <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">pantheistic<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">panentheistic, <\/span>Eastern occult view of reality. \u00a0 This form of prayer divination places into the minds of humans ideas that are not only unbiblical, but thoroughly occult and antichrist.\u00a0 The Self-induction and alteration of ones consciousness [into the Alpha-state], which so often is engaged in by undiscerning people, can quickly lead to full blown spirit contact, &#8220;snapping&#8221;, and even demonic possession.
