In the novel, The Shack<\/em>, the \u201cJesus\u201d says of \u201cGod,\u201d \u201cIsn\u2019t she great?\u201d (pg.88)<\/p>\n

Actually\u2013theologically\u2013she\u2019s a horror.<\/p>\n

With all the controversy still raging around this novel, with the author\u2019s admission that he does not believe the Father punished Christ on the cross for our sins, a demonic goal has been accomplished: Goddess worship has entered the church.<\/p>\n

This may seem like a wild exaggeration.<\/p>\n

Yet, as Professor Mary Kassian has noted, the liberal, mainstream church introduced \u201cChrista,\u201d a \u201cfemale\u201d version of the Lord decades ago. There has been a significant change since that liberal, limited attempt of the 1980s\u2013that is, the Body of Christ as a whole is far more amenable to errant theology. No denomination has entirely rejected the lure of The Shack<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to Kassian,<\/p>\n

\u00a0The Shack<\/em> contains terribly wrong concepts about God. Plain and simple. If you think it doesn\u2019t, then you\u2019re well on your way to accepting the image of the Christa on the cross. In a few years, you\u2019ll be hanging her up in your church. I don\u2019t think I\u2019m overstating the case. In my book I\u2019ve carefully documented the way it happened in mainline churches. The arguments used to justify their feminist Christa are the same ones The Shack<\/em> uses to justify its feminized version of God. In essence, there\u2019s no difference between the artistic image of a feminized Jesus (a.k.a. \u201cSophia\u201d) hanging on a cross and the artistic image of a feminized Aunt Jemima Papa god in a book. There are three objectives in spreading The Shack<\/em> theology among God\u2019s people: The introduction of goddess worship; the introduction of a false \u201cchrist;\u201d and a denial of the purpose of the cross.
