Dear Editors at Lighthouse Trails,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new edition of your booklet<\/a> on Reiki, chakras, and energy healing is a good and needed resource.\u00a0 I was sorry and surprised to read in your newsletter that you had received two calls in one week about chakras being taught in a positive light at two different churches.\u00a0 That seems so blatantly Hindu it’s hard to believe!\u00a0 I praise and thank the Lord that those two callers understood that was not right and contacted your ministry.\u00a0 It’s just wonderful that Lighthouse Trails and a handful of other sound, biblical warning ministries are available to help people.\u00a0 Your work is so valuable! For some time now, I pray for you daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My family has come across things like this in churches, too.\u00a0 A recent instance was at a very conservative Mennonite church we attended out of state while traveling.\u00a0 An acquaintance there, seeing I am disabled, asked for my phone number and called later to tell me about a health product, patches worn on the skin, she feels helped her and her son.\u00a0 It is a multi-level marketed product that she also happens to sell.\u00a0 I knew from her description of it that it was nothing I would be interested in, but to be polite I told her I would look at the website.\u00a0 There I learned that it claimed to work by aiding the flow of Qi energy.\u00a0 Then I felt I had no choice but to let this lady know of the spiritual wrongness of this health product, especially since her church standards limit Internet use, meaning she might not have had access to the information.\u00a0 I wrote her a letter and sent a book excerpt explaining the matter.\u00a0 Sadly, a few weeks later, she called to tell me she had read my letter but believed that just because some people think that the method isn’t of God, her family chose to believe the healing was from God, so that made it right for them to use and sell the product.\u00a0 I feel terrible for them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the way a lot of people in conservative Baptist and Mennonite churches get drawn into spiritually wrong health practices is by recommendations their chiropractors make.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
