Lighthouse Trails wishes to express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the Norway shootings and bombing.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The man who committed the atrocities on\u00a0Friday, July 22, 2011\u00a0in Norway\u00a0is being called a “Christian fundamentalist,”\u00a0and already, stories are hitting the mainstream media\u00a0telling the world to look out for Christian fundamentalists. Frank Schaeffer<\/span>, son of theologian Francis Schaeffer<\/span>, has likened the Norway killer to those who oppose abortion in his article on Saturday titled<\/span>\u00a0“Christian Jihad? Why We Should Worry About Right-Wing Terror Attacks Like Norway’s in the US,”<\/a>\u00a0 saying\u00a0“the terror unleashed on Norway” is “the sort of white, Christian, far right terror America can expect more of.” But is the Norway killer\u00a0a fundamentalist Christian (someone who\u00a0follows the fundamental teachings of the Bible)? The answer to this is a resounding\u00a0no, for there are\u00a0no teachings in the Bible that would condone these merciless\u00a0acts of violence. The\u00a0 killer of over 90 people in Norway cannot claim the name of “Christian” regardless of what he or the media say no more than Hitler could\u00a0legitimately claim to be one even though he\u00a0would sometimes refer to\u00a0himself\u00a0as a\u00a0conservative\u00a0 and a Christian, the very thing the Norway killer referred himself to on his Facebook account.<\/p>\n

We know that many in the world will now blame “Christian fundamentalism” on this act in Norway. In time, and escalated because of these types of violent acts driven by demonic forces, Bible believing Christians will be told they can no longer say Jesus Christ is the only way to God. It will be a hate crime. As was the case\u00a0 in the 911 terrorist attack in 2001, the Norway shootings will\u00a0be\u00a0used to further\u00a0the progress of\u00a0a one-world unified religion that will have no place for the Bible-believing Christian.<\/p>\n

In 2006, Rick Warren helped set the tone for animosity and marginalization against Bible-believing Christians (Fundamentalists)\u00a0when he stated\u00a0\u00a0that fundamentalism will be \u201cone of the big enemies of the 21st century. . . . Muslim fundamentalism, Christian fundamentalism, Jewish fundamentalism, secular fundamentalism \u2013 they\u2019re all motivated by fear. Fear of each other.\u2019\u201d1<\/a> Less than a year earlier, he defined what he means by Christian fundamentalism when he spoke at the Pew Forum on Religion and said:<\/p>\n

Today there really aren\u2019t<\/span> that many Fundamentalists left; I don\u2019t know if you know that or not, but they are such a minority; there aren\u2019t<\/span> that many Fundamentalists left in America \u2026 Now the word \u2018fundamentalist\u2019 actually comes from a document in the 1920s called the Five Fundamentals of the Faith. And it is a very legalistic, narrow view of Christianity. <\/span>Quote by Rick Warren<\/a>, May 2005<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The fundamentals of the Christian faith include things like the deity of Jesus Christ, the blood atonement, and the inerrancy<\/span> of Scripture. It is a sad day when the world, the media, and “America’s pastor” think Christian fundamentalism is an enemy and a threat in the way they mean. The Christian fundamentals are the Gospel. One following these fundamentals will care\u00a0about the souls of the unsaved that they might be saved through faith in Jesus Christ. A true Christian fundamentalist remembers the words of Scripture: “[t]he Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering<\/span> to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9).<\/span>2<\/a>\u00a0In truth,\u00a0according to 1 John, love is\u00a0meant to\u00a0be the motivating factor in sharing the Gospel.\u00a0Obviously,\u00a0Anders Behring Breivik<\/span> did not have love or the salvation of the people he killed in mind on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people, when trying to discredit Christian fundamentalists, refer to the Inquisitions; but it was the Christian fundamentalists who were being murdered during Inquisitions (by the Catholic church) – not the other way around. On\u00a0Anders Behring Breivik’s\u00a0blog, according to one article<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0he stated: ”\u00a0Today’s Protestant church is a joke.\u00a0. . .\u00a0I am a supporter of an indirect collective conversion of the Protestant church back to the Catholic.”1<\/a>\u00a0So like the ancient Inquisitioners<\/span>,\u00a0Anders Behring Breivik<\/span>, a fundamentalist of his own making,\u00a0is <\/span>opposed<\/em>\u00a0to Christian fundamentalists and certainly cannot be labeled as one himself. The acts of violence he committed<\/span> are not that of a Christian fundamentalist but rather that of a\u00a0religious tyrannist, which is the spirit of antichrist<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests,\u201d is the only post on the Twitter account of Anders Behring Breivik<\/span>, the man who has been arrested as the possible culprit of Friday’s bombing in Oslo, Norway, and for opening fire on a nearby <\/span>youth<\/a> camp. The tweet was inspired by a quote by the British philosopher John Stuart Mill.<\/p>\n

So far, 92 deaths have been reported, 85 of which were from the youth camp rampage, but the total number may increase as the day wears on. . . .<\/p>\n

OnlineSocialMedia<\/span>.net reports that on Breivik’s<\/span> Facebook<\/span> page he listed his interests as body building, hunting, freemasonry, stock analysis and the Modern Warfare 2 video game. Breivik<\/span> said he had completed \u201c3,000 hours of study in micro and macro finance, religion,\u201d and describes himself as being both Christian and conservative. . . . .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Larry Keffer<\/span> of the Biblical Research Center and Norwegian evangelist Petar<\/span> Keseljevic<\/span> spoke to <\/span>The Christian Post<\/em>on Saturday about the attacks and about Breivik<\/span>. . . . Keffer<\/span> warns that people should not think that just because Breivik<\/span> says he is a Christian that he actually is one.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was out in Norway,\u201d he said, \u201cthe people there thought they were Christian because they were Norwegian.\u201d Many people in the so-called \u201cChristian nation,\u201d he says, claim the faith but haven’t necessarily been genuinely converted.<\/p>\n

“A true Christian would not go and … shoot people in a camp or blow up buildings,\u201d he said. \u201cThat’s not what a Christian does. So just because a man claims to be a Christian, or even believes that he is a Christian, does not necessarily make him so.”<\/p>\n

As the world continues to plunge into further darkness and despair, emerging church leaders say it is the church\u2019s fault, particularly that of rigid Christians who won\u2019t bend their beliefs or convictions. While Christians certainly are not without sin, true believers are not causing the world to fall apart. It is happening for one reason alone \u2026 man\u2019s sinful condition. We are each responsible for the sin in our own lives. The Bible is clear that the penalty for sin is death. We all, each and every one of us, have had a death sentence meted out to us. But we have also been offered a free gift of salvation.<\/p>\n

As Christians, God expects us to reach out to those suffering and in need. When Jesus dwells in a human being, He convicts and He communes with that individual. He has saved us from destruction, and He desires to live in us and fellowship with us. And He compels us to live righteously and care about those less fortunate than ourselves.<\/p>\n

The world is in trouble because of sin. And Jesus commissioned us as believers to go out into the world and preach the wonderful Good News of His free gift of salvation to all who come to Him by faith. Satan hates this Gospel message, and he hates the messenger, the church. Is it any wonder that as this new, self-deifying reformation takes form, its followers will grow increasingly hostile to those who preach the biblical Gospel of Jesus Christ?<\/p>\n

Ironically, the emerging church, who says its main goal is to help the suffering and to help eradicate the world\u2019s problems, is not pointing the world to Jesus Christ and His body. Rather it is rejecting the atonement, locking arms with a religion (Catholicism) that teaches we are justified by works rather than by grace alone, embracing mystical practices and altered states of consciousness, and pulling these suffering lost souls further and further away from the only thing that will ever help them\u2014a personal one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ, who explains very clearly who He is:<\/p>\n

Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh<\/span> not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Note from Berit Kjos:<\/strong>\u00a0 Although mainstream media reports characterized this Norwegian revolutionary as a ‘right-wing Christian fundamentalist,’ Breivik denied that claim in his 1,500-page manifesto<\/a> titled “2083: A European Declaration of Independence<\/a>.” There he wrote:<\/p>\n

\u00a0“As this is a cultural war, our definition of being a Christian does not necessarily constitute that you are required to have a personal relationship with God or Jesus. Being a Christian can mean many things<\/p>\n

\u00a0– That you believe in and want to protect Europe\u2019s Christian cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Protestantism, Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity and the legacy of the European enlightenment (reason is the primary source and legitimacy for authority)…. It is therefore essential to understand the difference between a ‘Christian fundamentalist theocracy’ (everything we do not want<\/strong>) and a secular European society<\/strong> based on our Christian cultural heritage (what we do want<\/strong>). So no, you don\u2019t need to have a personal relationship with God or Jesus to fight for our Christian cultural heritage. It is enough that you are a Christian-agnostic <\/strong>or a Christian atheist (an atheist who wants to preserve at least the basics of the European Christian cultural legacy)….<\/p>\n

The cultural factors are more important than your personal relationship with God, Jesus or the holy spirit<\/strong>. Even Odinists<\/a><\/strong> can fight with us or by our side as brothers in this fight as long as they accept the founding principles of PCCTS, Knights Templar<\/strong>….
