This just in from a Lighthouse Trails reader:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t know if you’ve heard about this test scheduled for next week or not. From what I hear on the radio and tv, there has been no mention whatsoever about the FIRST NATIONAL<\/em><\/strong> Emergency Alert System test. You’ve all seen those “Emergency Broadcast System” Service Announcements. In\u00a0[my state]\u00a0when there are monsoons or severe weather alerts, they will break in to TV and Radio to make the warning. Also if there has been a child kidnapping, Amber Alerts appear on radio and tv as well.<\/p>\n

This will be different<\/span>. This will be a nationwide<\/em> test, consuming anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes of air time [FEMA has apparently reduced this to 30 seconds because of public concerns], across TV, Radio, Satellite, and Cable. I have not been able to find out if Internet or cell phone will be affected. [As far as we know, Internet will not be affected.]<\/p>\n

The FCC has to have permission by the current President in order to do this, and Obama has signed off on this. It will test the Nation’s infrastructure of communications. It will be the first of many, and they will find out where the holes are and how to improve it.<\/p>\n

One word of caution:<\/strong> During this test, it may or may not say “This is a Test.” What they will say is “It is an Alert.” <\/em>
\nWell,\u00a0if\u00a0some listening have\u00a0no idea that this test<\/span> is coming, they may freak out. Since the Government seems to be making LITTLE effort in warning people of this future event, I’m taking it upon myself to warn those whom I care for and maybe you’ll pass the information along.<\/p>\n

*** There are a lot of people who have taken issue\u00a0with this test and attached their own conspiracy theories to it. I have not done that because I think it’s obvious by their (the Govt.) own actions they are not being forth coming. I will leave you to speculate on whatever you’d like, this is for information purposes only…***<\/p>\n
