Letter to the Editor: Coronavirus—More Than Meets the Eye?
Dear Lighthouse Trails:

This is a tad bit curious in my opinion.  One and a half million people infected globally around the world from the virus and 80,000 deaths and the world comes to a screeching halt. Meanwhile, 900,000 people were infected and 80,000 of them died just two years ago of the flu in the United States1 alone and not a peep.  Call me crazy, but something is seriously odd about that.

In addition, according to the World Health Organization, 650,000 people die annually from the flu2 and not a peep again.

Some try to argue that the world is taking this so serious because millions might die.  The problem with that kind of logic lies in the word “might.” It is speculation that millions will die.  Maybe they will, and maybe they won’t.  We do know for certain that 650,000 die each year from the flu, and again, the world does not come to a screeching halt, which tells me something greater is going on here.  And I believe that it might have something to do with the fact (not speculating) that this event is being used to draw the world together in common cause.  Needless to say, the result is that the New Age agenda is being advanced by leaps and bounds.

What I see happening is a slick magician’s trick.  As the world is busy focusing on the what if scenario (freaking out about what might happen, which always bypasses logic), it has become blinded to the fact that this event is definitely being used to shape the global mind and bring the world (and church at large) one step closer to coming together to save the planet.  Pretty clever!

The entire story has all the earmarks of a staged event coupled with mass propaganda.  Is it a real virus?  No doubt.  But I believe there is much more going on here than meets the eye.

All that to say, we all need to be super vigilant as things pick up steam because the Bible promises that as more and more events unfold, greater and greater deception will come (to the point of strong delusion setting in if we are not careful).

There is something else going on here.

LTRP Comments: Frankly, until this current pandemic, we had no idea influenza was causing so many deaths every year. As you said, M.T., we know the illness itself that is now taking so many lives is not a hoax, but as you are suggesting, there is more to this than meets the eye. The fact is, Satan and evil powers behind the scene have an agenda, and that agenda can never be good. Satan is the father of lies and death so anything he is behind is not going to produce anything good. Furthermore, we know from Scripture that our Adversary’s plans are going to play out according to the Bible’s prophecies, until the Lord says enough. In the end, we know it is the Lord who is the Victor.

For us, here at Lighthouse Trails, we are praying that the Lord will show us how we are to live, to minister, to work, and to help during these birth pangs. We will probably never know all the evil deceptive schemes that are behind many of these “sorrows” (Matthew 24:8), but we don’t really have to know; all we have to do is strive to be faithful and pray to be used of Him.

There is no doubt that Satan and his minions will use COVID-19 to their advantage to accomplish their purposes. In a way, it has entrapped the whole world currently, but God can and will also use it for His purposes; and one of those purposes of God is to draw people to Himself (John 12:32) that they might know Him and believe on Him (John 3:16).

So while we don’t know all the evil intentions going on behind the scene, we do know that the world is in a crisis, that God knows about it and is watching, and that we have opportunity to share His truth and His salvation with anyone who will listen and to hopefully offer something to believers to encourage their hearts and help build their faith.

We find this to be an extremely challenging time. It is greatly troubling and perplexing. But, in even our own fears and concerns, we know that our Redeemer lives!  And as Paul said, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair.” (2 Cor. 4:8)

The Federalist

There’s nothing like a crisis to bring clarity. The response of some mayors and governors to the coronavirus pandemic in recent days has made it clear they think they have unlimited and arbitrary power over their fellow citizens, that they can order them to do or not do just about anything under the guise of protecting public health.

We’ve now witnessed local and state governments issue decrees about what people can and cannot buy in stores, arrest parents playing with their children in public parks, yank people off public buses at random, remove basketball rims along with private property, ticket churchgoers, and in one case try—and fail—to chase down a lone runner on an empty beach. All of this, we’re told, is for our own good.

Some Authorities Are Targeting Christians

The most egregious example of this outpouring of authoritarianism was an attempt by Louisville, Kentucky, Mayor Greg Fischer to ban drive-in church services on Easter. On Holy Thursday, one day before Christians were to begin their most important religious celebrations of the year, Fischer declared that drive-in Easter services would be illegal. Sound Doctrine Through It All

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass. (Deuteronomy 32:1-2)

How precious is the Book divine, by inspiration given! Bright as a lamp its doctrines shine, to guide our souls to heaven.—John Fawcett; How Precious is the Book Divine (1782)

Doctrine and Dogma
It is not very popular these days, but the Bible tells us to study and to rightly divide the Word of God:

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Scripture tells us that the Word of God is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword”:

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Scripture assures us that God’s Word really is God’s inspired Word, and that it is profitable for doctrine:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

But in the deceptive times in which we live, doctrine has become, for many, a harsh and even hated word. Yet, according to Strong’s Concordance, the word doctrine in Greek simply refers to “instruction” and “teaching.” Webster’s New American Dictionary defines doctrine as “something taught as the principles or creed of a religion, political party, etc.; tenet or tenets; belief; dogma.” The word dogma also takes a bad rap and is similarly defined by Webster as “a belief or set of beliefs that is accepted by the members of a group without being questioned or doubted.” These definitions are very straightforward, but the words doctrine and dogma still carry heavy negative connotations—even in the minds of many believers. If someone holds to doctrinal truth and refuses to compromise, they are frequently regarded as being too “dogmatic” and “hung up on doctrine.”

Spiritual Experiences
Today, spiritual experience is taking precedent over sound doctrine, and it is leading to great deception in the church. Having an “encounter” with God has become more of a priority than knowing and rightly dividing the Word of God. And in the process, deceptive spirits have moved into the lives of undiscerning believers as they temptingly offer counterfeit spiritual experiences—all in the name of “God,” “Jesus,” and the “Holy Spirit.” And this is exactly what the Bible said would happen in these last days:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

The word doctrine is specifically cited in the New Testament forty-nine times. Any teaching—especially whatever comes through personal experience as seemingly “new revelation,” “new truth,” or “new doctrine,” must always be measured by God’s Holy Word (Acts 17:11) and spiritually tested for truth and authenticity (1 John 4:1-3). Not every spiritual encounter is from God. There is a deceiver. The following selected Bible verses underline the importance of sound doctrine and the necessity of keeping, abiding, and holding fast to God’s Word.

And [Jesus] began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine. (Mark 4:1-2)

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (Matthew 7:28-29)

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. (Isaiah 28:9-10)

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. (Titus 2:1)

In a period of time when the Word of God is being discounted, denigrated, and deconstructed, it is especially important that we hold fast to the Word of God and the doctrines it espouses. The Bible states that “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” (Luke 11:28). The Bereans were commended by the apostle Paul because “they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily” to see whether the things they were being taught and told “were so” (Acts 17:11). May God bless and keep you as you search the Scriptures and endeavor to stand fast on the Bible’s inspired teachings and inspired sound doctrines.

I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. (Psalm 119:14-17)

Corona, Rodney Howard Browne’s Arrest, and the Prophet Jeremiah
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

By Bill Randles (from 3/31/20)

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded. But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: (Proverbs 1:20-25)

Wisdom is always crying out in the streets and particularly through current events which are widely known. There is often a huge handwriting on the wall for our generation. The problem is interpretation. What is God saying through events?

On March 30th, we awoke to news that a certain mega pastor, Rodney Howard Browne, was arrested for holding an “unlawful assembly,” bussing in hundreds to an already crowded church service, in defiance of the [Florida] Governor’s “social distance” decree.

Browne was already in the news for a few other things recently and over the years. The South African immigrant to America had proclaimed that quarantine is for “Pansies” and that his church would remain open until the Rapture.1

Around the time of the inauguration of the President, Browne was among a handful of pastors and spiritual leaders allowed to gather around in the Oval office and lay hands on and pray for the President. Browne is a ministry colleague of Paula White, President Trump’s “spiritual advisor.”

On the one hand, I understand the indignation at the decrees shutting down churches across the nation, as “nonessential,” especially when in many places Planned Parenthood continues to function.

There will be many that lionize Howard Browne—for standng up to the State or as a champion of freedom of religion.

But on the other hand, there really is a dangerous plague occurring globally, and personally, I give the Governor of Iowa (my state) the benefit of the doubt in this and pray fervently that as soon as the physical danger is passed, we can meet again as a whole flock. After all, the Word for church, “Ecclesia,” means an assembly. And according to Scripture, we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves (Hebrews 10:25).

I have struggled with this myself, and been in much prayer about it. I believe God has given me an insight into how we are to look at this; Do you remember the prophet Jeremiah? When the pagan Babylonians surrounded Jerusalem, he was given a rather unpatriotic message. He was told to tell Jerusalem to go out and submit to the Babylonians, even though it would be humiliating to them as proud Jews because God was in the Babylonian invasion. Jeremiah 27 is an example of this preaching. As usual, there were hundreds of false prophets like Hannaniah, who prophesied resistance, victory, and triumph. Jeremiah was hated for his “cowardly message” which amounted to submitting to the harsh discipline of God and not resisting.

When Rodney Howard Browne proclaimed that quarantine was for pansies, I thought of Jeremiah immediately. There is nothing spiritual about the bravado of mockery of the manhood of people who are trying to be prudent. Browne and his accomplice, Kenneth Copeland, who prophesied that CV 19 would be vanquished by the end of March, are just like the false prophet Hannaniah, who “makest [God’s] people to trust in a lie” (Jeremiah 28:15) and eventually discredit the cause of Christ.

I hope you understand these people have an errant theology. They believe that God has given them the power to become “little gods” through the New Birth and to be able to decree and command reality to submit to them; it is called “The Word Of Faith” teaching, and it is heresy. Copeland once told an audience that had he known what Jesus knew, he (Copeland) could have gone to the cross also! They are classic gnostics and heretics.

I hate not having full assemblies, I admit that. I do not put absolute trust in the government either. But God has allowed many limitations to come upon us: no sports, no restaurants, no entertainments (not as many), and in my view, worse of all, no gatherings of Christians in the tens and hundreds or even thousands. The freedom to gather as believers is one of the beautiful and joyous things about being an American!

But all of that has been suspended. Of course, we know the Word of God is not bound.

Do you believe it has been allowed as a discipline of God? Or is this just the Devil? Or could it be a combination of the two?

Like Judah, in the time of Jeremiah, we proud Americans don’t believe we could ever be curtailed in anything, much less worship. What if these restrictions are the discipline of a loving Father that we must submit to? Would fighting them be fighting God? Privileges have been stripped without debate, discussion, or due process; liberties have been suspended indefinitely, and that galls all of us.

The Constitution is a wonderful document, but it is not the Word of God. Could this be a time for repentance, soul searching, and seeking God?

Let us be careful of modern Hannaniah’s appealing to our pride and vainglory but pretending it is faith.

Guest Commentary on COVID-19: “Not Panic Action But a Balanced Perspective”

LTRP Note: The following commentary is posted for informational and research purposes. We have also posted an insightful video interview below the commentary from an unrelated source as well as other articles we have recent posted on COVID-19.

By David Cloud
(Way of Life Literature

As the Covid-19 crisis continues and economic problems mount, there is good news. For the redeemed of the Lord, there is always good news in Holy Scripture.

We have never made light of the coronavirus epidemic. It is a major problem, and serious steps must be taken to minimize its spread and devastation. But there has to be a proper perspective, which is not found in the panic-driven media. To put this business in right perspective, while thousands have died of Covid-19, MILLIONS have died of other things. About 3 million people die of all causes in America every year, and 56 million worldwide. That’s MILLION. Worldwide, that’s 153,000 deaths per day, 6,400 PER HOUR, every hour, hour after hour after hour. The leading causes of death in America are, in the following order, heart disease, cancer, accidents, lower respiratory diseases, stroke, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and influenza. The reason that the predominant approach to Covid-19 is small-minded is that we DO live with death. We are dying people in a world of death. This is the reality of life on Earth. We live with death in a thousand forms, and we must learn how to live with coronavirus.

Many have mocked the comparison of Covid-19 with the flu, but there is a comparison. Covid-19 is still a small thing compared to influenza, though it is yet to be seen how they will compare in the end. In 2018, there were 80,000 flu deaths in America, which was about 450 deaths per day. Worldwide, about 1 billion people contract the flu, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine, and about 500,000 die annually during the flu season, according to the Centers for Disease Control. That is about 2740 flu deaths per day or 114 per hour. It appears that influenza is not as easily spread as coronavirus, but that influenza is very contagious is obvious by the massive numbers of infections annually. A billion!

If influenza infections and fatalities were to be tracked on a chart and updated in real time and broadcast continually from every news site on Earth and flashed across the length and breadth of social media as per Covid-19, there would be unending panic every year. The six-foot rule would be a permanent reality.

Again, this is not to make light of the coronavirus. It is a major problem and requires serious attention and the application of much wisdom. We aren’t saying that radical steps shouldn’t be taken, such as social distancing, limiting large gatherings, etc. But there has to be a proper perspective. We do live with death. It is reality, and we must learn how to deal with the coronavirus epidemic without pulling down the very fabric of a modern society.

According to The Lancelot Infectious Diseases medical journal, the current estimates on the Covid-19 fatality rate is 1.38% of confirmed cases, .66% overall, and 7.8% for those over 80 (“The Lancet Infectious Diseases: comprehensive Covid-19 hospitalization and death rate estimates,” EurekAlert, Mar. 30, 2020).

This is less than half of the rate that was reported earlier. It means that more than 99% of those who are contracting Covid-19 are recovering and 92% of those over 80 are recovering.

We wonder what percentage of those over 80 who contract influenza recover? We could only find statistics for 65 and over, and 65-80 is a significantly different group than 80 and over. We do know that 12,000 people over 65 died of influenza in America the 2017-18 season (“Flu Deaths Rising for Americans over 65,” AARP. Oct. 2, 2018).

The sad reality is that when you are over 80, you are likely to die of anything, anytime! I don’t think anyone over 80 would argue with me about that. The interesting thing is that three thousand years ago, God’s Word spoke specifically about the ages 70 and 80.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. (Psalm 90:9-12).

This is very good counsel. Our earthly lives are like like a passing shadow at best, and we need to apply our hearts to wisdom.

Just an observation here:  With all my news watching for the last three weeks regarding the coronavirus or Covid-19 (can’t seem to find reporting on anything else but), I don’t ever recall any of the “experts” or interviewers ever considering the One True God.  I have heard from the politicians of all sorts and sizes ad nauseum, the scientists up one arm and down the other-at least the ones in agreement with the story being put forth, and, of course, the ever-present sociologists and psychologists weighing in and putting forth their own particular brand of pseudoscience.

This very fact alone demonstrates that while “God” remains in the national vocabulary, “he” has been marginalized so we might find answers from our true saviors—the politicians, scientists, and the ever-present pseudo-scientists.  I guess God isn’t yet convenient or deemed necessary or fit the accepted story line.  Actions DO speak much louder than words!  Read the actions.  While they are seeking for wisdom and answers from all the wrong people, here is what the True God has to say as He reveals Himself and the way in which He deals with men—Listen closely:

The unrecognized and unfaced reality of God’s relationship with men—there are limits—the appeal to men: Proverbs 1:20-31—

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

“Frame, Reframe: The Battle for Truth” About Replacement Theology
LTRP Note: The following article is posted for informational and research purposes. To learn more about “Replacement Theology,” please read Mike Oppenheimer’s booklet/article Israel: Replacing What God Has Not.

By Steve Herzig

I witnessed an attempt to reframe theology during our Canadian Friends of Israel Prophecy Conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba, last year when a colleague showed me a one-page flyer titled “Questions for Christian Friends of Modern Israel.” He had found hundreds of them circulating in the auditorium during the lunch break. At the bottom, it read, “Prepared by concerned friends of Palestinian Christians.”

We both knew the flyer was a stealthy attempt to undermine our teaching and persuade those attending our conference to abandon biblical Zionism in favor of Replacement Theology, which puts the church in place of Israel. How did we know? After all, the flyer itself did not contain the word replacement. We knew the historical truth, and we examined the flyer’s contents. It’s easy to fall for a reframed theology and its euphemistic language if you don’t know the facts. . . .

After the session, several people made it a point to thank us for using the flyer to expose Replacement Theology. They now could better see the attempt to reframe the biblical view on Israel, and they were renewed in their faith. God’s promises to Israel are indelibly framed in His Word and provide a guarantee to protect, preserve, and provide for His Chosen People. Click here to read this entire article.

New Song by Trevor Baker - Go Down Lovin'

Note: Another new song by Canadian singer, Trevor Baker. You can read the words below and click here to listen to him singing it from his home in Saskatchewan.

Go Down Lovin'

We oughta go down lovin, cuz that's what Jesus said to do

Go down lovin, take the road among the few

When our heart gets locked on hurtin, our Savior holds the keys

So we can go down lovin, when we fall upon our knees

We've got a world that's hooked on fightin, and forgiven's outta style

Cussin out the other, busy hatin, as they smile

Courtrooms filled with bitter folks, yes they've got it all on file

Some even saying that they're Christians, simply living in denial

Cuz it's right there in the Bible, God said turn the other cheek

He either meant it or he didn't, when he said blessed are the meek

But take a look around us, how we live and how we speak

If Jesus did that at the cross, then we'd all be up the creek

He said, "Father please forgive them, they know not what they do"

I'm thinkin that same principle, applies to me and you

Cuz hatred's just a prison, that will always leave you blue

When we take our anger to the Lord, his peace comes shinin through

So we can go down lovin, cuz that's what Jesus said to do

Go down lovin, take the road among the few

When our heart gets locked on hurtin, our Savior holds the keys

So we can go down lovin, when we fall upon our knees

The old cliche is go down swingin, but that's really wrong

I've heard it many times, how survivin's for the strong

And we can hum that tune, everyday from dusk till dawn

But it's never helped this world, that keeps singin that same song

Just look around and tell me, if what I'm sayin isn't true

The attitude is mostly, if you wrong me I will sue

I'd say by how we're livin, we sure need to get a clue

Start takin our instructions, from the only one who knew

You didn't see him cussin Romans, the politics of the day

If they were chargin unfair taxes, he'd just turn the other way

If someone does us wrong, he never said to make them pay

Instead he said we should bow our heads, and simply pray

We oughta go down lovin, cuz that's what Jesus said to do

Go down lovin, take the road among the few

When our heart gets locked on hurtin, our Savior holds the keys

So we can go down lovin, when we fall upon our knees

LTRP Note: The following are some of the recent comments made by LT readers on the Coronavirus articles we have posted. There is a variety of persuasions in how the Coronavirus situation is looked at, but you will find some interesting and helpful insights.

The restructuring of life as we know it is not about the virus. Consider: Even 80,000 deaths in the US is an average of about 1600 deaths per state. Wyoming, with the smallest U.S. population, has approximately 600,000 – the 2010 census put the count at 563,000 – would still show a very small percentage of deaths compared to the overall population.

Of course, some areas have more deaths than others. Still . . . we close down our entire country, destroy the livelihoods of millions of productive citizens, derail the education of millions of students, etc. — for 1600 deaths (more or less) per state?!

The socialist maxim about never wasting a good crisis . . . to gain power and control over free citizens . . . is clearly in play here. Economy booming? People happy to be prospering? America re-emerging from dark days of tyrannical overlords? No crisis on the horizon? No problem. Engineered crisis works just as well.

God is so good to us to warn us beforehand about what to expect from the world. We are blessed beyond measure to know Jesus Who is rock-solid, unchanging Truth, Who is the Way through worldly deception and absurdity, and Who is LIFE which surpasses even death. To not fear death in the midst of fearful, life-threatening times is an incredibly blessing. We are so thankful. A.C.

LTRP Note: The following comment has been stroked out because these figures on TB are incorrect. According to the CDC, there were 8,920 cases of TB "provisionally reported" in the U.S. in 2019; in 2017, 515 deaths from TB were reported. The CDC does say that 13 million Americans have "latent TB" (a non-active form of TB). We thank one of our readers for bringing this inaccuracy to our attention, and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused.,

It should be noted that there are 10 million people globally who become ill with TB each year with 1.5 million dying from it. It is said to be one of the main causes of death worldwide. (source)

You want a real eye opener? Look at the recent history of Tuberculosis in the world and the USA in particular. Based on the total lack of coverage one might be inclined to believe it was eradicated decades ago thanks to a vaccine which has been around since the early 1920s.

Turns out we have roughly 1/3rd of the world’s incidences here and there were 500,000 who died from it in a recent year. Can you imagine the draconian measures we would see if Covid-19 even reached half that number?

No thanks for the vaccine for me! Not if they can’t get one to work in 100 years! M.M.

Yes Coronavirus is real. However, when has the entire world shut down over a virus? People are being controlled by fear now as they will be controlled by fear when they willingly receive the Mark of the Beast. It is surprising how willing Americans are to throw away our civil liberties. The government says stay home. We stay home. The government says don’t go to church. We don’t go to church. The government says don’t assemble. We don’t assemble. What else are they going to ask of us that we will willingly do without question? It’s a mindset that is willing to be controlled by a global government and willingly receive the Mark of the Beast. B.

The Constitution specifically states that Congress (extrapolate to include “the government”) may make NO, repeat – NO law abridging the right of the people to peaceably assemble. No citizen in government office has governmental authority to tell us to stay home.

I would add to your observation that we also allow ourselves to be governed by citizens who neglect to uphold the basics of our Constitution. As a student learning about the holocaust, I have always wondered HOW? How did ordinary citizens change so drastically as to viciously brutalize and murder their neighbors, relatives, and friends merely because they were told to do so. Now I am seeing the HOW. Deception is a terrible weapon — one which our adversary adroitly employs.

Thankfully, Jesus has already defeated our adversary. What have we to fear? Jesus gives us life eternal. We live in Him Whom is victorious forever. The Lord’s saints have ever been privileged to be a thorn in the flesh of worldlings for obeying God rather than governments. May many be attracted by our freedom in Christ and be gathered in by Jesus who sets us truly free. A.C.

Something definitely doesn’t add up…. For info, this disease is also treatable with high dose vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) or intravenous vitamin C for serious cases. This treatment was officially recognized in China. Z.

I am sure Satan is delighted with the death and chaos going on around the world right now. If the Anti-christ is waiting in the wings to appear, the scene is being set. Societies cannot continue to function under these shut-down conditions. I am glad that President Trump is looking forward to the normalization of America, where churches will be open and people can go back to their jobs, schools can re-open, etc. The success of those two drugs is not anecdotal, as some liberals and experts say but have been proven for many yrs., with minimal or no side effects. People who are being treated for malaria or lupus are not getting the Corona virus because they are using these drugs. Some countries are having their doctors and nurses take these drugs to protect them from the C. virus (is this called prophylactic?). Let us pray that our nation repents, humbles itself and returns to the Lord and God of creation and His Word, Jesus Christ. E.B.

There is an interesting article by Patrick Wood at titled “The common roots of climate change and COVID 19 hysteria. Put enough fear in people and you can control them. The real agenda is control .COVID 19 is the distraction. This has been planned for awhile . As a veteran medical professional (retired), I never bought the “bat” story. That virus clearly came from a laboratory. The global elites, including Bill Gates, needed another card to play in advancing the one-world system. A pandemic and economic collapse fits the scenario they want. B.

Coronavirus is new; medical science can’t find a cure; they can’t predict what it’s going to do next. Of course, they must worry and act NOW as never before, otherwise, they should resign and play Gamestation games. The flu numbers cannot be compared with corona, as we do not know corona. It’s not apples with apples. It’s corona against the unknown, and that’s the scary part for everyone who is concerned and involved. If the medical world knew that this were similar to flu (which it isn’t), the urgency would not be present or severe.

There are opportunists everywhere; everyone (Christians, atheists, euthanizers, evildoers, etc.) will take their share of the corona cake (it’s happening already). “Conspiracy waters” are not where born-agains belong. We should not even look for hidden agendas right now. Right now, the unknown danger is here and we have to deal with it.

Many (like LTRP) have echoed my recent pleas: This is a perfect time (like every day) to tell a lost world about the only salvation found in Jesus Christ, as promised by Him and our Father.

My daughter is a microbiologist/geneticist in the medical field. “Dad, we’ve never seen anything like this. It’s unpredictable.” Let’s focus on two things: be a lamp in the dark world and keeping our focus on things heavenly, and let’s do our human duty by obeying the rules and helping where we can.

Corona will pass, but let’s not be caught off-guard because we’ve been told second-hand that it’s nothing to worry about. BTW, this coronavirus will not bring people closer together; that is as clear as mud on a white shirt. J.J.

In reply to J.J.: There are many things you wrote that I disagree with, but the one thing you said that got my attention was your erroneous claim that ““Conspiracy waters” are not where born-agains belong. We should not even look for hidden agendas right now.”

That is a bizarre statement to post on a discernment website. If conspiracies do not exist (e.g. people conspiring to bring new age teachings into the church), then Lighthouse Trails is a complete waste of time.

Not to mention, if conspiracies do not exist (or are not worthy of looking into), then Christ’s warning to us about watching for false prophets is pointless. After all, if false prophets are not conspiring to alter the word of God, then we need not be concerned.

Furthermore, if conspiracies were a non-issue, then Jesus would never have been nailed to the cross. His entire death was the result of a conspiracy. Should we simply ignore that part of scripture?

And what about Acts 23:12-13 which says, “And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.”

Should we toss it?

The bible is rife with conspiracies. And yet, for some reason there is a flippant attitude in the church that says we need not think there will be any conspiracies in the last days when deception is at an all-time high. M. T.

P.S. – I do not mean to sound harsh, but what you are saying is downright dangerous and needs to be addressed in a direct manner. I still love you.

When God declares judgment on a nation (which is what happened in Jeremiah’s day, when He sent Babylon to conquer Israel), that’s that. No man can stop what God decrees. Irony of ironies, the Babylonians were kinder to Jeremiah than his own people! God’s hand was in that, too.

I’m not saying that’s what this is. I am seeing some things that cause me to wonder if that’s what this is, but only the LORD knows all things. Only HE knows the future. Doctors and scientists are prognosticating, but they are not God and they don’t really know what will happen an hour from now, let alone in the weeks and months to come.

America has been ripe for judgment for many years now, at least 50+ years. As Jeremiah said in Lamentations (the sequel to the book called by his name), the mercies of the Lord are new every morning; his compassions, they fail not. HE is our hope. HE is our only hope. My trust is in Him. I know His judgments are true and righteous altogether. CW

CW, as I’m from a place where there are various malaria areas, I can confirm your facts about the drug. Malaria medication can be taken for up to one year (as prescribed by a physician) without there being any side-effects, and it’s been used here since time out of mind. Hydroxychloroquine is not some snake oil homeopathic ‘remedy,’ — it’s the real thing. But as you’ve said, Trump can’t say anything without being opposed automatically. I hope his enemies, through their indoctrinated hatred, do not contribute to more fatalities. J.J.

I pray this pandemic and economic crisis will drive people to the Lord Jesus Christ as their only refuge and salvation. So China knew in November about this dangerous virus and exposed millions of people to it and punished the whistleblowers, at least one who is dead now. I see that Spain is now second to the U.S. in cases. I lived there for 5 yrs. and still have 5 grandchildren, one son and one son-in-law there on lockdown. I cried today about all this. Will I ever be able to see my family again? Part of my heart is still in Spain. Lord give our leaders wisdom to do your will in all things. Sometimes experts are wrong, as we have seen. E.B.

I am more concerned about those false teachers who’ve laid hold of the President than I am over our government shutting the church doors. It seems that God might be handing the church “at large” complete with wheat and tares over to those who hate us for a season. The church gathering will survive this time of refining – it will look different than it does now. There will be fewer tares in the meetings because the cost will be too high. Yet the cost will cause our faith to increase and we learn to what it literally means to put our flesh to death and to find our lives in Christ. In Him, I live and breathe, and have my being.

Yes I think it is discipline from God – “The LORD loves those whom He disciplines.” “Judgment begins with the House of God.” I think God is discipling us – giving us (the church) a chance to repent and return to her first love. It’s been a long time coming.

I don’t know if I should say (as some do) that this is the beginning of the birth pangs. I don’t know that this it is that. I do know that unless we, the church, repent, there are greater disciplines on the horizon. God wants our full attention. God is calling us to be about our Father’s work – while we still have time. J.D.

It seems as if God has “hit the pause button” on the whole earth . . . so that many would seek His face and be saved! It seems that the NWO is trying to force the change that they want thru the excuse of a Virus. Yes, we are being stripped of our “rights,” in favor of their agenda (a New World Order). If they can just make this pandemic last long enough, then Bill Gates will have the excuse to vaccinate the whole population with a virus vaccine that also has tracking capabilities using 5G. There’s only one problem with that, vaccines don’t work with Viruses.

So, I see God’s hand for Great Good in this whole thing, He has the whole worlds attention and the fields are white unto harvest! We need to pray for many to come to saving Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! Look up, our Redemption draws nigh! Maranatha. L.

The Word of Faith “Prophets” on COVID19 Showing Their Bad Fruit

The false Word of Faith teachers are showing their bad fruit.

Can this be God’s way of showing false teachers to the church? On March 29th, Word of Faith teacher, Kenneth Copeland, stated:

“In the Name of Jesus, standing in the office of the prophet of God, I execute judgment on you COVID-19. I execute judgment on you, Satan, you destroyer, you killer. You get out. I break your power. You get off this nation. I demand judgment on you. I demand. I demand. “I demand a vaccination to come immediately. I call you done. I call you gone. You come down from your place of authority, destroyer. You come down and you crawl on your belly like God commanded you when He put His foot on your head in the Garden of Eden. You will destroy through COVID-19 no more. ‘It is finished! It is over! And the United States of America is healed and well again,’ saith the mighty Spirit called Peace, who is also the Prince of War, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Copeland’s left-side “puppet” says to him, “COVID 19 has ceased to exist.”

Then Copeland responds with, “At exactly 12 noon on the 29th day of March.” They break out into praise, saying thank you Jesus “it’s over”!

Sounds like a child’s tantrum. No matter how loud he sounds, it is a whisper in God’s ears; and he does not teach what is in the Bible (God did not put his foot on Satan’s head in the garden.)

Look at the COVID 19 maps to see if it is over as Copeland pronounced in the name of the Lord. It’s not over, and this man has once again brought shame to the name of the Savior.

How is this any different than what Copeland said at another church at another time previously right here in Hawaii (20 years ago) that did not come true either. The fact is, he has a perfect record—of false prophecies:

“We are going to agree together tonight that God’s will be carried out. And that whosoever is elected as president of the United States and whomsoever is elected in the congress of the United States, WILL HEAR AND OBEY THE VOICE OF GOD ALMIGHTY FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS IN THIS NATION.”… WE BIND YOU SATAN in the name of Jesus. This nation doesn’t belong to you, it never has and never will. In the name of Jesus, YOU COME DOWN from your place of authority and you crawl in the dust like God told you to in the Garden of Eden.” (Copeland on August 18, 1996 at a Word of life Church,

Copeland is doing exactly what the Bible says not to do on fallen angels (read Jude). He is Word of Life’s spiritual father; he came to dedicate their new building on Dec. 2, 2001. At a Word of Life Christian Center dedication celebration service in Honolulu Hawaii on Dec. 2, 2001, Copeland gave a “prophetic utterance”:

“But There are going to be multiplied millions upon millions. There’s going to be close to a billion people that have been trapped in that religion, that over the next few months are gonna to come into the kingdom of God. That’s gonna happen, you watch and see what I’m telling you (cheering) Because it’s been . . . I’m telling you Satan’s fat is in the fire he pushed it over the line, and God has moved. . . . I’d to get in there and walk around a while but I don’t have the time but I can tell you this, that thing has come to an end, it’s over, I’m talking about Islam and every, all that that stands for. That’s over with. ”

Benny Hinn—talking about COVID-19 claiming “those who abide in Him no plague will come, he who dwelleth in the secret place of the most high . . .   you said lord he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high, who abides in your shadow no evil shall befall them, no plague will ever come nigh their home. That’s your promise. I pray you will give assurance to your people in this hour now Lord. We pray and agree because you said when two agree you will do it. . . . This virus will die, it will die. I declare in the name of Jesus no plague shall come near you, I speak it now, and establish it in this atmosphere in Jesus name.” (No Plague Shall Come Near You.” London Ministry Conference March 14, 2020)

Of course, this virus will eventually fade (not die) like all others. But to guarantee this to those attendees is absolutely shameful and dangerous.

Gloria Copeland also says there is no flu season
(, that we are healed.

The Word of Faith teachers are deluded, and you should now be able see how dangerous they really are. Flee from the false prophets while there is time. Do you want to be a goat or a sheep under the Lord?  Time to see it for what it is and choose.

He preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection . . . And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:18, 30-31)

Apart from the great fact of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, we would have no Gospel to preach. By “resurrection,” we do not mean that our Lord’s spirit continued to live after His body died but that He was actually raised from the dead by the glory of the Father and came forth from the tomb in the very same body that had been impaled on Calvary’s cross. In that body, now glorified, He sits at God’s right hand, and in that same body, He is coming again as the Judge of both living and dead—the saved and lost. This is what is emphasized for us in the seventeenth chapter of the Acts of the apostles.

The entire passage, beginning with verse 16, is of tremendous interest, but I have no thought of attempting to explain it all, though I hope you will read it carefully at your leisure, if you are not thoroughly familiar with it, for it is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of a preacher’s eloquence that we have anywhere in the Bible.

Paul appears here at his best, from the human standpoint, but he also speaks as a divinely inspired servant of Christ. Of Apollos, we read elsewhere that he was an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, and it is very evident from this sample sermon that Paul was a man of the same stamp; although on the other hand, he did not particularly cultivate what was simply rhetorical, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

But it was quite in keeping with his principle of being” made all things to all men,” that when he stood on Mars’ Hill, the very center of culture of the Greek world, he should meet those philosophers on their own ground.

So far as culture was concerned, he was every whit their equal, combining a thorough acquaintance with their literature, history, and customs, with a deep knowledge of the Word of God to which they were strangers. Thus he gave them that day a new and arresting message such as they had never heard before, and possibly many were destined never to hear again.

Notice some of the circumstances. Paul was waiting in Athens for several of his fellow servants, who had returned to Thessalonica to find out how the newborn Christians there were getting along. As he wandered about the city, his spirit was deeply stirred, for he saw everywhere the evidences of idolatry. They worshipped everything in Athens; in fact an ancient philosopher once said, “In Athens it is easier to find a god than a man.” There were images on every street corner, over every doorway, in every courtyard, found in every store, and every dwelling house. Turn where you would, you were confronted by them.

Paul, as he walked those streets, knew that the things the Gentiles sacrificed were sacrificed to demons and not to God; he knew he was probably the only man in that city who had a knowledge of the true and living God and of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; and yet for the time being he saw no opportunity to give his message in a public way.

A Jewish synagogue, however, attracted his attention, and entering it, he claimed his right as a recognized teacher to speak, and there he presented the Gospel, disputing with the adherents of Judaism, and with proselytes who were doubtless weary of the unsatisfactory character of idolatrous rites and ceremonies, and had sought out this place of instruction in the law of Moses.

In the market place also he addressed himself to individuals, and sometimes little groups would gather about him to whom he proclaimed the wondrous story of God’s grace in Christ Jesus to a lost world. Little by little he drew the attention of the people, who were always interested in that which seemed new and strange. So we need not be surprised that at last certain philosophers of the Epicureans and the Stoics became interested in him and his teaching.

These believed that man’s supreme good is found in trying to please himself, that there is no use denying one’s self; make the best of life by getting all the pleasure out of it you can, for you are going to be dead for a long time. We can hear the echo of this in the philosophy of so-called self-expression of our day.

The Stoics took the opposite view of life. They said: we are in the hands of a remorseless fate; we had nothing to say about coming into the world, and there is no telling what will happen when we leave it. Just grit your teeth, don’t show the white feather, make up your mind that “what cannot be cured must be endured.” Stoicism has come down through the ages as the synonym for patient endurance.

Some of these philosophers asked, “What will this babbler say?” To them he seemed to be setting forth new gods. New gods in Athens! They had searched the world to find all of them. They had shrines for the gods of Babylon, Phoenicia, Greece, Egypt, and Rome. They worshipped them all, and yet this man seemed to know something about some new ones, because Paul preached “Jesus and the resurrection.” They thought that Anastasis (resurrection) was yet another god! They had the god of peace, the god of victory, the god of justice, the god of love — all these different deified human attributes; and now they thought, “This man seems to have two new gods, one called Jesus and the other, Resurrection. We would like to hear more about them.” And they took him up to Mars’ Hill, or the Areopagus. This overlooked Athens, and was where the philosophers met for discussion. So they invited Paul to come up there and expound his new doctrines. Led by them, he wended his way to the meeting -place above, and at once began to proclaim the message that he had been yearning to give them for so long.

He took his text from an inscription he had seen on one of their altars, and said, as it were, “I see you are a very religious people. You seem to worship every god known to the Greeks and all other nations, and as I walked about I noticed an altar with an unusual inscription.”

It was evident that these Athenians feared lest they might be neglecting some god whose name had not been communicated to them, and so they set up the altar that had attracted Paul’s attention.

What a splendid text it made! And so Paul said, “Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.” In other words, “I am here to tell you who the unknown God is.” How can anyone make known the unknown? God has made Himself known in the person of His blessed Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was there, indeed, to present Jesus and the resurrection, and let me say that no man preaches the Gospel unless he does preach Jesus and the resurrection.

There is no Gospel for guilty sinners apart from Christ, for the Gospel is God’s message about His blessed Son. The Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed; it is good news to be believed. And that good news concerns the Lord Jesus Christ, Who came from the glory that He had with the Father from all eternity down to the sorrow and anguish of the cross of Calvary where He bared His breast that the sword of divine justice might be sheathed in His heart. He took our place and endured what we deserved. But that alone would not be the Gospel; there is something more needed.

Paul preached: JESUS, AND—And what? “And the resurrection.” Wherever the disciples went, they preached that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. The essence of their message was that He “was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25).

So Paul preached Jesus and the resurrection, and we today proclaim the same, and we tell you in His Name, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).

Notice how Paul prepared the ground for his message. First of all, they were reminded that the Creator must be greater than that which is created, and Paul directed their attention to the visible universe. It was very evident that the God Who made all things could not be confined in one of their temples. He says, “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing he is Lord of Heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.” He is not the God of one nation, but of all nations, and we are really one people, for He “hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and bounds of their habitation.” He has put upon men the responsibility to know Him, for He is not far from any one of us.

There is no man anywhere who will dare say in the day of judgment, “I wanted to find God and could not,” for
“Closer is He than breathing, Nearer than hands and feet.” He is so close that if men will feel after Him, will stretch up empty hands towards Him, they will find His great strong hands reaching down to lay hold of them. God will never permit it to be said that any man honestly sought the way of life and failed to find it, that any man really wanted to be saved, and cried to God unheard.

This answers a question that troubles a good many people. I am often asked: WHAT ABOUT THE HEATHEN?

They have never heard the Gospel. What of them? Are they going to be damned because they have never heard? No matter where a heathen man may be today, if he wants to know God and honestly reaches out after Him, God will make Himself responsible to give that man light enough to be saved, for He is not far from any one of us. God has commanded men “that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him.”

This is the only place in the New Testament where we get the word “feel.” I have often urged people to trust the Lord Jesus and have told them how He died for them, bore their sins on the cross, and that if they will believe on Him, He has given His own Word that “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” And then they say, “Well, I do believe, but I don’t feel any different.” That has nothing to do with it. The word feel is not a Christian word at all. The only place it occurs in the New Testament is here where Paul is speaking of the heathen. But you have an open Bible; you do not need to feel after God. What you need to do is to believe the testimony that He has given, and then you will be saved. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31). This is the word of the living GOD given through His servants of old.

I said that the word feel is found only once in the New Testament, but the word feeling is found twice: once in Ephesians 4:19, where it speaks of certain Gentiles, and says, “Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness”; and again in Hebrews 4:15, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.” Apart from these three instances we do not find the words feeling or feel used in the New Testament. The moment you believe in the Lord Jesus, the moment you trust in Him you pass out of death into life, out of condemnation into justification before the throne of God.

In John 5:24, Jesus says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

1.”HE THAT HEARETH MY WORD.” Face this: be honest with your own heart. Have you heard the Word of the Son of GOD? Have you heard Him speaking to you through this blessed Book?

2.”AND BELIEVETH HIM THAT SENT ME.” Do you in your heart believe that GOD sent the Lord Jesus Christ to be the sinner’s Savior, to die for you on the cross, to rise from the dead for your justification?

3.”HATH EVERLASTING LIFE.” When do you get it? When you die? No, you get it now, from the moment you believe, from the moment you hear the Word of the Son of God, and receive and confess Him as the One whom the Father sent into the world to be the sinner’s Saviour. The trouble today is that people are stumbling over its very simplicity.

I heard of a man who wanted to be saved, and he was told to do penance for sin by putting hard dried peas in his shoes and walking on them so many hours a day. This poor man did this and limped around the streets, trying to make atonement. It would have done him just as much good if he had boiled the peas first.

But people are willing to do all kinds of hard things. They are like Naaman who, when the prophet commanded, “Go and wash in Jordan seven times,” said, “That is too easy a way.” But he had a wise old servant who suggest, “If the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it?” Why, of course he would. “How much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?” If you had to give a great deal of money, say a great many prayers, make long pilgrimages, do vast numbers of charitable deeds in order to get life eternal, how many of you would be willing to do these things? How much more when He saith to thee, “Believe and live!”

4. “SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION.” Think of it! Is that not good news? Not a word about purgatory, not a word about confession to a priest, not a word about sacramental observances, not a word about penance; but here and now, the moment you put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, your sins are gone and you will never come into judgment, but you have everlasting life. It is all for you. That is the Gospel which Paul preached. And notice the next point:

5. “IS PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE.” It is a settled, complete salvation, giving a new standing before God to the believing sinner. Observe the threefold link with resurrection:

a. Resurrection and Repentance
But what if men do not accept it? Then there is the judgment. He says that God has been very gracious with the heathen: “The times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” Repent means to change your mind completely, to have a new attitude. You had an idea that you could save yourself by your good works, but you change your mind and now admit that you cannot do a thing to save yourself, but that Christ must do it all. That is repentance— a change of attitude toward God. Instead of trying to do anything to save yourself, let the Lord Jesus do it all.

God “commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained.” God is going to judge the world in righteousness, but your case can be settled out of court, and settled today, so that you need never think of coming into judgment. But if you reject Christ, some day you must give account before His judgment throne.

b. Resurrection and Assurance
“Whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” The resurrection of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ is the ground of our assurance that we shall live again in our resurrected bodies. He says, “Because I live, ye shall live also.” We are told that “As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” This does not mean that all men will be saved, but that the bodies of all men will be raised from the dead. Thus God has given assurance to all men of a life after death in that He raised the body of Christ from the grave. In the second place, He has given assurance unto all men that the sin question is settled in the death of Christ, by raising His body from the dead.

Here is an innocent man who has gone to prison for the crime of another. He knew the other man was guilty, but he knew, too, that in order to prove his own innocence he would have to expose his friend; and so he hears the sentence of the judge, sending him to prison for one year. What must be the feeling of the other man outside? He says, “I have sent that man there; I deserved to go, but he is there in my place.” Perhaps he goes to see him and the man says, “I took your place voluntarily, and I am quite content; you let me endure it.” The other roams the streets and says, “I wonder how long he will be content to remain there; I wonder how long before he tells the whole story.” But by and by a year has passed, and walking down the street one day, he sees the one who went to prison for him. He rushes up and says, “What does this mean?”

“It means,” is the reply, “that you have nothing to fear now. The sentence has been endured.”

So our blessed Lord bore on the Tree the sentence for us, and now we who were once guilty sinners are free. ” Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more.” The resurrection is the proof that the sin question has been settled, that God is satisfied. “He hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

c. Resurrection and Reckoning
In the third place, we have assurance in the resurrection of Jesus Christ that some day all men are going to give account to Him. This will be when He sits upon the great white throne. Think of giving account of your sins to Him after all He has done to save you from them!

Notice the threefold response from Paul’s message had that day. “When they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter . . . . Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed.” I wonder if there are not people manifesting these three different attitudes toward the message today!

Some mock, some ridicule, some say, “Oh, we cannot believe this message about Jesus and the resurrection; we cannot accept it. We do not see how He could die for sinners and rise again, and how men can be saved through believing on Him.” God pity you if you are turning this message down. Some day He will turn you down, for He says in His Word, “Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; but ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh” (Proverbs 1:24- 26). God grant that you may not at last be exposed to such a doom. Do not turn it down, do not go away with a cold, careless sneer and say, “It is nothing to me.”

The second class said, “We will hear thee again of this matter.” They are the procrastinators. You may not be mocking; possibly you would not sneer at the Gospel message; you fully intend to be saved some day, but you are saying, “I will hear you again; I am not ready to close with Christ today. There is so much to occupy my heart and mind these days; some other time. Let me alone for the present. Sometime I will give attention to these things.”

Remember the old saying, “Procrastination is the thief of time.” There is a Spanish proverb which says, “The road of by and by leads to the town of never.” How many have taken that road, have said, “By and by, some other day,” and have gone on and on, until at last they have reached the other world, hopelessly lost, and that forever!

The third class, ” Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed.” What a blessed testimony! God has recorded the names of two of them, one man and one woman, Dionysius and Damaris, who accepted the message proclaimed that day.

Men have an idea that what sinners need is more culture, more refinement; but if polite culture could have saved the world, Greece would have been saved long ago. But Greece went all to pieces in spite of its culture. It was the Gospel of the grace of God that saved the ancient world from ruin. And it is the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ that saves men today. I bring before you these two examples, Dionysius and Damaris, and I beg you to follow them as they followed Christ; believe the message, and go on rejoicing in Him, who was raised from the dead, never to die again. Hear what He says in Revelation 1:18—”I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore.”

Donating to Lighthouse Trails

SUPPORTING LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS: For those who would like to support Lighthouse Trails, we always appreciate both your prayers and your giving. And for those who have faithfully done that over the years, we thank you with all of our hearts. We know that some people may have the impression that Lighthouse Trails does quite well financially because we sell products that we publish and because our resources have had such a far reach; but, the truth is, it takes everything made through sales to keep Lighthouse Trails operating. Publishing, at least for small presses such as ours, is rarely a high-profit business. It would take a best seller to see that, one that the masses of people love. And because we are not just a business, but even more so a ministry, we keep our prices as low as we can, give away many resources, and have also made much of our material available for free on the research site and blog. That's not how big corporations run things as that would hurt the bottom line (profit), but we see the needs out there, and we trust God to keep us going as long as He sees fit.

We thank you in advance for seeing the value in a ministry like Lighthouse Trails and coming along side us with your prayers and support.

It is our prayer that we will faithfully be humble servants of the Lord’s work for years to come should the Lord tarry. If you would like to donate to Lighthouse Trails, you may send a donation by mailing it to: Lighthouse Trails, P.O. Box 908, Eureka, MT 59917. Or you may call 866/876-3910. A note to our Canadian readers: As many of you know, in 2019, we were informed by the Canadian government that some of our booklets cannot be sent across the border into Canada because they would be considered "hate propaganda" according to recent Canadian law changes on homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and transgenderism. However, we also learned that it is currently not illegal for Canadians to have possession of these booklets (we just can't send them across the border). Therefore, Canadian readers may call 866-295-4143, the number of our new Canadian distributor, to obtain copies of all of our booklets and several of our books. In time, we hope that all Lighthouse Trails books will be available through the distributor. To view a complete list of our current booklets, click here.
