“Pope Leo May Be the Most Radical Pope Yet”
LTRP Note: The following posted for informational and research purposes.
By Daniel Greenfield
Front Page Magazine
Pope Leo XIV met Arnold Schwarzenegger at the papal summer residence, and then urged the green faithful to undergo a “true ecological conversion” and to “listen to the cry of the Earth.”
The new pope quoted his predecessor’s condemnation of climate unbelievers who have chosen to “deride the evident signs of climate change” and “ridicule those who speak of global warming”. . . .
The elevation of environmentalism to the level of doctrine, the pseudo-pagan deification of the earth and the implication that those who do not believe in the environmental movement are heretics who need to undergo a conversion “that transforms both personal and communal lifestyles” which he equated to a conversion to Christianity and the claim that failure to participate in made it impossible for anyone to call themselves “disciples of Jesus Christ” were radical positions, but the real radicalism lay in the infrastructure of leftist political organizing. By Michael Starr
The Jerusalem Post
Right-wing pundit Tucker Carlson referred to a murderous plot of people eating hummus in Jerusalem in a speech, comparing the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk to that of Jesus, at the activist’s memorial service on Sunday. This led many commentators to accuse Carlson of engaging in antisemitic dog whistles and flirting with conspiracies about an Israeli hand behind the September 10 murder.
Carlson said that Kirk’s Christian evangelism reminded him of the story of Jesus arriving in Jerusalem to denounce people in power. Click here to continue reading.

Will the Evangelical Church Help Usher in the “Age of Enlightenment” and the Coming False One?
By Ray Yungen
In the early twentieth century, a figure who would have a major impact on the Western esoteric movement came out of the occultic Theosophical Society. The actual coining of the very term New Age has been attributed to her writings. Her name was Alice Ann Bailey.
Born Alice LaTrobe-Bateman, in Manchester, England on June 16, 1880, she grew up as a society girl and enjoyed all the privileges of the British upper class. Being very religious, Alice met and married a man who later became an Episcopal minister. In time, they moved to the United States. When Alice’s husband became physically abusive toward her, she fled from him and settled with her three children in Pacific Grove, California.
Alice was greatly comforted when she met two other English women living in Pacific Grove. These women introduced her to theosophy, which seemed to provide answers to her questions concerning why such misfortune had befallen her. Alice, then 35, was about to have her life changed forever. Later, in her unfinished autobiography, she wrote:
I discovered, first of all, that there is a great and divine Plan . . . I discovered, for a second thing, that there are Those Who are responsible for the working out of that Plan and Who, step by step and stage by stage, have led mankind on down the centuries.1
In 1917, Alice moved to Los Angeles and began working for that plan at the Theosophical Society headquarters where she met Foster Bailey, a man who had devoted his life to occultism. She divorced her estranged husband and married Bailey in 1920. Alice had her first contact with a voice that claimed to be a master in November of 1919. Calling himself the Tibetan, he wanted Alice to take dictation from him. Concerning this, Alice wrote:
I heard a voice which said, “There are some books, which it is desired, should be written for the public. You can write them. Will you do so?”2
Alice felt reluctant at first to take on such an unusual endeavor, but the voice continued urging her to write the books. At this point in time, Alice experienced a brief period of intense anxiety in which she feared for her health and sanity. One of her other spirit “masters” finally reassured her she had nothing to fear and she would be doing a “really valuable piece of work.”3 The “valuable work” Alice was to do ended up lasting thirty years. Between 1919 and 1949, by means of telepathic communication, Alice Bailey wrote nineteen books for her unseen mentor.
To occultists, the significance of the Alice Bailey writings has heralded anticipation of the appearance of a World Healer and Savior in the coming Aquarian Age (the astrological age of enlightenment and peace). This savior would unite all mankind under his guidance. Bailey termed him the coming one. This person was not to be the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom Christians await the return but an entirely different individual who would embody all the great principles of occultism, chiefly the divinity and perfectibility of man. One of Bailey’s followers wrote:
The reappearance of the Avatar [world teacher], by whatever name he may be known, has been prophesied in many religions as well as in the esoteric [occult] tradition. A major manifestation is expected in connection with the Aquarian age.4
Interestingly, the apostle Paul declared one called “the man of sin, the son of perdition” would also proclaim himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:3,4). I believe this coming Aquarian messiah will be the son of perdition spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians. Furthermore, I am convinced the New Age movement is his spiritual platform. Too many things fit together for this to be just mere coincidence. Therefore, we must watch for the restructuring of our world by those who are preparing the way for his arrival and identity to be revealed.
Daniel 8:23 states this man will be a master of dark sayings. In Hebrew, this translates as one skilled in cunning and ambiguous speech. The world will see him as one who is distinguished and spiritually brilliant. Keep this in mind as you read the following description:
The coming one will not be Christian, a Hindu, a Buddhist, not an American, Jew, Italian or Russian—his title is not important; he is for all humanity, to unite all religions, philosophies and nations.5
The only one who could bring this about is the one who fits the description mentioned in Daniel. This explains the all-out effort by the New Age, which is saturating our society with meditation right now. When this man comes forward, all those who are in touch with their “higher self” (those who are awakened through meditation) will clearly recognize him as their unifier and give him their allegiance. He will have a ready-made constituency (many in key positions) to help him reconstruct society. This will be the final culmination of the paradigm shift.
A disciple of the Indian guru Rajneesh made this keen observation, illustrating the potential power of this deception and the hypnotic influence of this “coming one”:
Something had happened to Rajneesh that made him unlike other men. He had undergone some change—enlightenment, the rising of kundalini [serpent power]—and his being had been altered in palpable [noticeable] ways. The change in him in turn affected his sannyasins [disciples] and created a persistent and catalyzing resonance between them.6
What was the nature of the resonance? The Bible predicts the Antichrist and the false prophet will perform lying wonders (Revelation 13). Alice Bailey described the work of her New Age Christ very explicitly:
The work of the Christ (two thousand years ago) was to proclaim certain great possibilities and the existence of great powers. His work when He reappears will be to prove the fact of these possibilities and to reveal the true nature and potency of man.7
In light of the many who will be coming in Christ’s name (Matthew 24;5), I also believe the Alice Bailey prophecies can provide further insight into what the apostle Paul called in 2 Thessalonians the falling away. Bailey eagerly foretold of what she termed “the regeneration of the churches.”8 Her rationale for this was obvious:
The Christian church in its many branches can serve as a St. John the Baptist, as a voice crying in the wilderness, and as a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished.9
In other words, instead of opposing Christianity, the occult would capture and blend itself with Christianity and then use it as its primary vehicle for spreading and instilling New Age consciousness! The various churches would still have their outer trappings of Christianity and still use much of the same lingo. If asked certain questions about traditional Christian doctrine, the same answers would be given. But it would all be on the outside; on the inside a contemplative (mystical) spirituality would be drawing in those open to it.
In wide segments of Christendom, this has indeed already occurred. The Catholic contemplative mystic Thomas Keating alone taught 31,000 people mystical prayer in one year. People are responding to this in large numbers because it has the external appearance of Christianity but in truth is the diametric opposite—what a skillful spiritual delusion! Could this possibly be the falling away Paul speaks of?
Note this departure is tied in with the revelation of the “man of sin.” If he is indeed Bailey’s “coming one,” then both Paul’s prophecy and Bailey’s prophecy fit together perfectly—but indisputably from opposite camps and perspectives.
This is very logical when one sees, as Paul proclaimed, that they will fall away to “the mystery of iniquity” (2 Thessalonians 2:7). The word mystery in Greek, when used in the context of evil (iniquity), means hidden or occult!
Could this revitalization of Christendom fit in with Bailey’s “new and vital world religion”—a religion that would be the cornerstone of the New Age? Such a religion would be the spiritual platform for the New Age “coming one.” This unity of spiritual thought would not be a single one-world denomination but would have a unity-in-diversity, multicultural, interfaith, ecumenical agenda. The panentheistic Catholic priest Thomas Merton made a direct reference to this at a spiritual summit conference in Calcutta, India when he told Hindus and Buddhists, “We are already one, but we imagine, we are not. What we have to recover is our original unity.”10
Satan’s plan has always been to deceive people into believing they can become like God, and God has given Satan the freedom to carry out his diabolical plans, with certain powers to recruit humans in attempting to complete it. While Scripture clearly tells us that Satan is the father of lies, it is not inconceivable that Satan would reveal these things to whomever he wishes for the purpose of attaining his goals. I believe Alice Bailey may be one of those through whom he chose to lay out his master plans. Therefore, Bailey’s predictions could indeed be more than just the fanciful meanderings of an overactive imagination. When the depth and intricate detail of her work is studied, it cannot be dismissed as trivial. One author made the following keen observation regarding this point:
Alice Bailey’s gigantic corpus of wisdom could not have been invented by human minds; the teachings are undoubtedly superhuman in origin.11
In a manner of speaking, I consider Alice Bailey as an apostle of New Age occultism, and her writings as mystical revelations. She is telling the world the path it will be taking and how it is going to be done—in essence, a combined manifesto and blueprint. The fact that much of what she predicted has indeed actually happened gives even greater credence that her work really could be the design for the one Paul called “the son of perdition.”
Various church statements reflect Bailey’s dark prophecies that speak to the “revitalization” of the churches. Even now a recent Catholic dictionary states: “Current ideas about mysticism underscore that it is for the many, not just a chosen few.”12 An article in America, a national Catholic magazine, shows the result of this mysticism in regard to evangelization. The article, titled “Rethinking Mission in India,” states the spirit is active in Hinduism as much as Christianity, and therefore both religions “are co-pilgrims on the way to fulfillment.”13 The significance of this is clearly revealed in the following view from the same article:
Any claims to superiority are damaging. Religions need not be compared. All we are expected to do is to serve man by revealing to him the love of God made manifest in Jesus Christ.14
What is happening here is a complete turnaround regarding the meaning of evangelization. In truth, if you want to reveal to man the love of God, made manifest in Jesus Christ, you proclaim the blood of Christ (Him crucified – 1 Corinthians 2:2) for salvation!

Dominionism, Kingdom Now, 7-Mountain Mandate, and What Does the Bible Say?
|
LTRP Note: The following is from Mike Oppenheimer’s 2019 booklet. For those who are trying to understand what terms like “dominionism,” “kingdom now,” “7-mountain mandate,” and more mean and where they came from, this booklet explains them along with the implications of going down those paths. Today, most Christians have a legitimate concern about the declining moral and spiritual condition of our world. Perhaps more than ever before, believers in Jesus Christ need clear direction from the Lord on how we are to live faithfully and pleasing to Him in such a world.
You may print this article or order a copy of it in booklet format to share with others.
“The church becoming a powerful force, taking over the world to establish the kingdom of God on Earth is not the way Jesus spoke it would take place in the last days.”
By Mike Oppenheimer
“To Rule the World”
In the mid-1980s, a British band called Tears for Fears came out with a song titled, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” While we can see this take place throughout man’s history, it is not a desire that should be found among believers in Christ. But in what is called Dominionism or Kingdom Now, that is exactly what followers are taught.
Dominionism came into Pentecostalism through certain teachings from the Latter Rain movement of the late 1940s. In a nutshell, Dominionism downplays and in most cases rejects the idea of an apocalyptic end-time tribulation but rather teaches that Christ will return after the church has established God’s kingdom on the earth by Christianizing the world. Dominionists believe this will be accomplished through signs, wonders, and miracles from “the manifest sons of God” who will take control and rule the world.
The main eschatological (end times) model in Dominionism today is “spiritual warfare” prayer used to remove demonic hindrances in the spiritual realm. This proposes that if we demolish the devil’s kingdom and atmosphere over homes, cities, and countries, our world will change. This is the first of several steps for the church to take dominion with this “warfare” prayer that is directed at things, principalities, and powers through declarations and decrees.
What’s more, today’s Latter Rain Dominionists believe a worldwide revival unlike any other in history will soon take place which will propel this kingdom into existence.1 At the National Men’s Shepherds Conference in 1975 in Kansas City, Missouri, Ern Baxter (who accompanied “the prophet” William Branham on many campaigns) expressed this desire to defeat Satan by a new breed of overcomers when he stated:
God’s people are going to start to exercise rule, and they’re going to take dominion over the Power of Satan. They’re going to bring diabolical princes down. . . . As the rod of His strength goes out of Zion, He’ll change legislation. He’ll chase the devil off the face of God’s earth, and God’s people together, doing the will of God, will bring about God’s purposes and God’s reign.2
In his 1966 book Subdue the Earth, Rule the Nations, Latter-Rain leader Franklin Hall said:
The man-child group of the sons of God will be required “to rule all nations with a rod of iron” (Revelation 12:5).3
We hear the teaching that Satan stole the “keys of dominion” when he deceived Adam and Eve; and when Christ gave the “keys of the kingdom” to Peter (Matthew 16:19), Dominionists say it means dominion had been returned to the church. Distorting Genesis 1:28, they teach it is a continued mandate for Christians to control the world and that the government has finally come into the church, promising more power and more anointing to establish the kingdom.
The late church-growth pioneer C. Peter Wagner (d. 2016) stated:
See, the problem is, is that Satan has had too much of his way in our society because he has a government! And the only way to overthrow a government is with a government.4
Wagner speaks of “apostles in the workplace”5 and says:
This gate will be opened when we understand about the church in the workplace, that the church has a government, that it takes a government to overthrow a government, and when we understand this, if we renew our minds, if we embrace this paradigm shift . . . the revival we’ve been praying for is just around the corner.6
Alice Bailey’s Kingdom Now
In order to gain a more clear understanding of Dominionism and Kingdom Now Theology, let’s take a look at some of the teachings of occultist Alice Bailey7 who received channeled messages from a demon she called Djwal Khul. One of those messages was:
This Church will be nurtured into activity by the Christ and His disciples when the outpouring of the Christ principle, the true second Coming, has been accomplished.8
In her book The Externalization of the Hierarchy, Bailey stated:
The church must show a wide tolerance, and teach no revolutionary doctrines or cling to any reactionary ideas. The church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held) show their true and inner spiritual significance. The prime work of the church is to teach, and teach ceaselessly, preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages. Teachers must be trained; Bible knowledge must be spread; the sacraments must be mystically interpreted, and the power of the church to heal must be demonstrated.9 (emphasis in original)
The esoteric interpretations of the New Age are used, and the undiscerning church attendee does not notice what is being taught. The goal is “preserving the outer appearance in order to reach the many who are accustomed to church usages.”
Below I have listed a few quotes by Alice Bailey, showing her views on “the kingdom.” These are significant because we hear the same viewpoint in the church by Dominionists:
But Christ founded a kingdom on earth.10
This world is the kingdom of God.11
Christ . . . came to found the kingdom of God on earth. . . . His mission has not failed. The kingdom is now organised upon earth.12
In contrast, when Jesus stood before Pilate, He made it clear His kingdom is not on Earth, “My kingdom is not of this world . . . but now is my kingdom not from hence” (John 18:36). Yet Alice Bailey taught:
It is time that the Church woke up to its true mission, which is to materialise the kingdom of God on earth, today, here and now. The time is past wherein we can emphasise a future and coming kingdom. People are no longer interested in a possible heavenly state or a probable hell. They need to learn that the kingdom is here, and must express itself on earth.13
[Referencing John 3:3] This is the second birth, and from that moment vision comes with increasing power. . . . The Christ is being born today in many a human being, and increasingly will the sons of God appear in their true nature, to take over the guidance of humanity in the New Age.14
The true Church is the kingdom of God on earth.15 [Comment: The true church is not biblical Christianity according to Bailey.]
. . . the long-awaited kingdom of God is simply the appearance of soul-controlled [i.e., demonized] men on earth in everyday life and at all stages of that control.16
. . . the bringing in of the Kingdom of God, the preparation for the coming of the Christ and salvaging of mankind . . .17
Bailey also stated when this “Kingdom of God” is “restored,” it would unify all faiths.”18 Again, in contrast, the Bible speaks of a mystery of iniquity coming to its zenith. “Mystery Babylon” is an amalgamation of all the religious systems of the world. It is a unity of all religions with one exception— real Christianity (i.e., biblical Christianity). In Hebrew, this pseudo-Kingdom of God is called Babel—after the judgment (Genesis 11:1-9) conveying confusion. Alice Bailey’s channeling demon did not speak of the Kingdom which is created by the Creator of the Universe.
Just as Babylon was built for mankind to unite without God and make a name for themselves, so will this end-times Babylon. The Bible has identified Mystery Babylon, which began after the flood when God sabotaged man’s attempt to unify, built around false religion. It will repeat again in the last days.
This is known in the New Age as “The Plan.” There is a difference between God’s plan in prophecy written in the Bible and man’s plan given by “new revelation,” dreams, visions, and interpretations from the perspective of other religious/spiritual teachings.
Bailey’s New Age teachings on the kingdom of God are eerily similar to those of the teachings of Dominionism.
Jesus said when he stood before Pilate, “[I]f my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight” (John 18:36). The early church did not take up the sword but instead laid down their lives. But it wasn’t many centuries later when a misled church that lost its focus desired to take over the world both religiously and politically, trying to bring the kingdom on Earth. The church that was once underground became a legal religion in Rome and eventually merged religion with politics. By doing this, the church forfeited being the church that Christ founded.
7 Mountains
A teaching that has ingrained itself in the church through the New Apostolic movement is called the 7M Mandate, referring to seven mountains identified in culture. In a chapter titled “Apostles in the Workplace” in Peter Wagner’s book The Church in the Workplace, he details the “strategy for war” for marketplace transformation and asks for leaders to “standardize our terminology” for the “7 spheres,” “7 mountains,” or “7 gates” of society that must be transformed (religion, family, education, government, media, arts and entertainment, and business). Wagner says in the book, “These segments of society should be seen as apostolic spheres.”19 The strategy for this takeover of these areas of society has been laid out in a document from the Wagner Leadership Institute titled Invading the Seven Mountains, which states:
[I]f the world is to be won, these are the mountains that mold the culture and the minds of men. Whoever controls these mountains controls the direction of the world and the harvest therein.20
In order to transform cities, regions and nations, we need to capture and rule the 7 mountains that shape each area’s culture.21
We are an association of people brought together for the glory of the Kingdom of God who gives us power to create wealth from the treasures of oil, gas and other resources of the earth to advance the purposes of God in the Earth Realm.22
The strategy of the 7 Mountains Mandate first came by a “revelation” to Loren Cunningham (founder of YWAM) who talks of this privilege along with Bill Bright (founder of Campus Crusade for Christ) who received the same idea (supposedly from God) at the same time. On the Generals International website (the website of Dominionist Cindy Jacobs), it states:
In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), developed a God-given, world-changing strategy. Their mandate: Bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres, or mountains, of societal influence.23
Lance Wallnau, one of the main purveyors of the 7 Mountains teaching, says the kingdom comes gradually and through the efforts of the church taking these mountains and putting them under our control; accordingly, Christians will only reap a great world harvest if the church captures these “mountains” for Christ.
As Gentiles Exercising Control
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12)
And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. (Luke 16:14-17; emphasis added)
What is highly esteemed? Places of position, power, and control. Jesus addressed this specifically when He stated:
Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: (Matthew 20:25-27)
He then gave Himself as the example.
Many well-known people are involved in promoting this Dominionist strategy such as Jim Garlow and Lou Engle (The Call/The Send). [LT note: In October 2025, Lou Engle was involved with an event in Washington, DC called Communion America.]
Another promoter of the 7 mountains system is Rick Joyner, who says that Lance Wallnau has supernatural strategies for engaging the darkness covering the Earth with the light of the kingdom of Heaven. His series, “The Seven Mountain Strategy” is on CD and in books and video.
Wallnau’s network is advertised on the Elijah List: “Take your place, help your nation fulfill her unfinished assignment. Join the 7M community network [cost is $7.77 a month] and transform your nation.”24
Cindy Jacobs, as a general in C. Peter Wagner’s apostolic/prophetic “army” speaks of herself and others as generals strategizing for the 7 Mountain takeover. Cindy Jacobs says of Isaiah 9:6, “We’re talking about establishing the government of God in the Earth.”25 When you compare such talk with Scripture, there is no mandate given to the body of Christ to form a government and have generals. [LT Note: Paula White (President Trump’s appointed spiritual advisor) is also a leading figure in the 7M movement.]
No Rapture or Tribulation
C. Peter Wagner did not believe in the rapture as can be seen in his radio interview with Terry Gross in speaking about the return of Jesus:
GROSS: What are you expecting? Like, what do you think will happen?
WAGNER: I think the world is going to get better and better, not worse and worse. And I think that. . . .
GROSS: So you don’t believe in the Rapture and the tribulations.
WAGNER: I used to.
GROSS: But now?
WAGNER: But I don’t—I don’t see how it fits now into what God is showing us. . . . no, I don’t believe in that.26
When Wagner says God is showing them, it means by new revelation (which happens to go contrary to what God has shown the true prophets that have written the Scripture).
Wagner has the church ruling over the world without a physical return of Christ. This is why they use spiritual warfare as step one to defeat Satan to capture the 7 mountains.
Johnny Enlow is the founder and former pastor of the 7 Mountain church, Daystar, in Atlanta. In his book, The Seven Mountain Prophecy, Enlow likens the army of the Lord to a “spiritual tsunami” called the “Elijah Revolution” which he says will “sweep through the church and recover that which is good while washing away that which is polluted.”27
Enlow says that “the Father says to the Son”:
Once You have purchased redemption for mankind, You will sit at My right hand. You will have done Your part on Earth “till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” You will remain up here as the Head, and Your body on Earth will crush Your enemies. The last generation will be the “foot” generation and will rule on Earth over Your enemies. Until they do so, You are not going back to rescue, rapture, save, or anything else. Your body, in fact, will not be a beautiful bride until she has accomplished this crushing of Satan.28
Enlow, describing his own interpretation, distorts the Scripture, saying:
This will change as the Elijah Revolution is released upon the nations. Sons and daughters of the King who understand the call to take the seven mountains will rise to the mountaintops.29
Enlow promises that “the Elijah Revolution will change the landscape of society; everyone will have to make at least some kind of adjustment.”30
This is not what the Bible teaches; rather, it says that we are to instruct the people in the teachings of Jesus Christ, not foundations of culture. It is the Gospel that transforms people by the new birth. What these 7 M “prophets” are espousing is not Christianity as taught in Scripture. I see no distinction between their goals and those of New Agers who want to produce what they believe to be a Utopian kingdom on Earth.
To gain a better understanding of how these prophets of culture plan to change the world, we can read the following by John Enlow written in 2015:
I believe that American Pharoah [a race horse] winning speaks prophetically of a place and role that America is about to more fully step into as it relates to world affairs and the world economy . . . I see the 37 years (time since last triple crown) as connecting to Genesis 37 when Joseph is first introduced to us and given the coat of many colors. In my book, The 7 Mountain Mantle: Receiving the Joseph Anointing to Reform Nations, I write much about this chapter telling of the coming Josephs who would arise in every mountain and be instrumental in the reforming of society. It’s also significant that Joseph was 37 years old when the famine started that ultimately impulsed Egypt to an even more lead nation status. Because of the Joseph solutions implemented by Pharaoh, it says that “all nations came to Joseph,” Egypt, and Pharaoh for their own survival (see Genesis 41:57).
I believe that the United States position in world economics is about to be greatly strengthened and that there will also be a corresponding weakening of many other nations’ economic positions—with the United States increasingly being in a place of dictating terms of economic rescue for many nations. Significant economic shakings are coming, but they will end up greatly strengthening the United States’ position in the world and not weakening it.
We will now see a significant acceleration of change in every area of culture, as great shining ones will arise as never before.31
Great shining ones? This sounds more like New Age or secret society rhetoric than anything the Bible describes. What’s more, whatever change is now occurring in America and in the rest of the world is not good.
Societies are becoming more sinful as Jesus Christ is left out of the equation just as the Bible predicted.
Those who believe this church triumphalism are walking into a strong delusion. But they don’t see this as they listen to the new prophets speak of power and authority for them.
Authority Given
The devil has authority and is able to give this authority to whom he pleases. He lifts people up quickly to positions they were not prepared to handle or offers a shortcut. He even tried this ploy on Jesus:
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. (Luke 4:6-7)
Contrary to this, God spoke in Psalm 2:6-8:
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
The devil offered Jesus the kingdoms of the world at the beginning of His ministry; God the Father had promised this to His Son when He was resurrected which He will commence in the millennium. Dominionists wrongly apply eschatological passages for Israel and the millennium to the church today. The devil’s purpose in offering it to Jesus was to give Him a shortcut, without the Cross; but Jesus refused. God has not given us (the church) the nations; that is promised to His only begotten Son. Jesus is “to rule all nations with a rod of iron” (Revelation 12:5).
How many people throughout history have succumbed to the devil’s temptation for authority to fulfill their own desired goals and aspirations? The devil gives individuals authority to rule over other people. This has been offered to man since the fall in the garden. Satan opposed God’s work by offering man authority and dominion over the Earth by having Eve believe man could be as God. Thousands of years later, he has not changed his overall strategy but has certainly increased the various ways to accomplish it.
Continuing in the Faith/Enduring to the End
After explaining and then showing the disciples an example of a servant (John 13:4-17), Jesus states:
Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Luke 22:28-30)
In this life, there are many trials for the Christian believer. It is for us to continue in the faith through these trials. The kingdom of God, according to Jesus, is inherited by humility, not by taking things through force. The Scripture says, “When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed” (John 6:15). We cannot force God’s kingdom to be established on Earth.
The church becoming a powerful force, taking over the world to establish the kingdom of God on Earth is not the way Jesus spoke it would take place in the last days. Dominionists have taken biblical truths and distorted them to reinforce their justification for building the kingdom here now. This idea of a powerful ruling church taking over the world is a spiritual hoax.
Peter writes of what it will be like in the last days. They ask where is the promise of Jesus Christ’s coming (referring to His return to Earth, bringing in the kingdom):
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished. (2 Peter 3:2-6)
When we think of mockers, we think of atheists or skeptics scoffing at the creation account, but this is not whom Peter is addressing. These are people familiar with the Scriptures—they believe in creation, they point to the fathers of the faith (patriarchs, saints) who are sleeping, which is the biblical word for the dead resting until the resurrection. They are the church! They lack the patience and perseverance required. They think they will change a world that God already said in His word He would judge; to put it bluntly, they do not believe the Word.
The Last Empire—A Counterfeit
The Lord told Daniel:
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. (Daniel 12:10)
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32)
God’s wisdom is crucial for having skill for living in these last days. Our effectiveness in the end is linked to being faithful and having an understanding of what is actually written about the end.
Daniel sealed the vision, and he wrote some of the clearest prophecies about what it will be like when Jesus comes again. Consider the following:
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. . . . the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. (Daniel 2:40-45)
We know from Scripture that clay is a symbol of man (God is the potter, and we are the clay), yet Daniel states that it does not mix with iron. The iron is a symbol of strength and authority; this last kingdom made of iron is a counterfeit of Christ’s kingdom; mixed with clay, it has a false authority of man ruling. Speaking of Jesus, Revelation 12:5 says, “And she brought forth a man child [Jesus Christ], who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron.” And in Revelation 19:15, it says, “[H]e shall rule them with a rod of iron.” God the Father has given Christ the God/man to be the ruler of the kingdom (Psalm 2:8).
Daniel is speaking of a fourth kingdom with kings that will rule the earth unlike any other time. Considering the agenda of the globalists, the New Age movement, and Kingdom Now promoters inside the church, it is not that far-fetched to believe there will be some type of inclusion of the church with the governments of the world (Revelation13). Even now, a hybrid spirituality is being formed with the world and its religions.
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. (Daniel 7:23)
Why would the fourth kingdom be so different from the others? For the Dragon (Satan) gives him, the beast, “his power, and his seat [throne], and great authority” (Revelation 13:2). He is the last Gentile ruler of the times of the Gentiles; he is called the Beast. At a certain point, his rule will combine spirituality with political might unlike that of any other government or religion in history. During the fourth kingdom’s rule, this leader will proclaim himself to be God and expect to be worshiped (Matthew 24:15). The ten kings of the world will give their allegiance to the beast, and the beast is worshiped (Daniel 7:24; Revelation 17:13,17).
This fourth kingdom is unlike any other; it takes the Ancient of Days to come and break his rule before the saints can possess the kingdom. The saints needed to be rescued; they were not ruling (Daniel 7:25).
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. (Daniel 7:21-22)
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (Revelation 13:7)
There is no church government to rule triumphantly now nor will there be in the future prior to Christ coming back. The apostasy described in Scripture fits in perfectly with the “kingdom now” scenario. Can it be that it will be part of this fourth kingdom? Many Kingdom Now advocates believe the church will be given unparalleled power to convert the masses through miracles. Some go so far as to say we will be immune to disease and even death, transformed to immortality before Jesus comes back.
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. (Psalm 2:1-3)
Here we have God’s perspective of these leaders united together without the Messiah, willfully resisting His rulership.
While the fourth kingdom constitutes iron mixed with clay, Christ instead will rule His kingdom with a rod of iron (meaning with unbreakable rules, absolutes; and disobedience will bring swift repercussions). Notice that those ruling the earthly kingdom when He comes will be broken like clay vessels. Why? Because they will not set up His kingdom but their own.
Dominion Given to the Saints When Jesus Returns
The Messiah returns and destroys both the last ruler and last kingdom of man. It is the stone cut out of the mountain without hands “which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces” (Daniel 2:34); speaking of the ruler at this time, “he shall be broken without hand” (Daniel 8:25), meaning not by the church or any other human institution.
When the real kingdom comes, Christ is present on earth and we serve Him:
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. (Daniel 7:27)
There is no kingdom of God come to Earth without our King Jesus being physically present to rule. The only 7 mountains the Bible speaks of is in Revelation 17:9: “The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” The description in this passage is about the “harlot” church.
The day of man’s government will come to an end when the God/man comes back as King. The church has never been given a mission to rule over the world and “Christianize it” but to rescue people (in a spiritual sense) out from it. It is done through the Gospel which transforms a person’s heart by a spiritual birth, not by Christianizing the culture that is already in the world system.
It is not God’s plan for the church to take over and implement dominion over this present evil world before He returns. We have too much confidence in ourselves and very little in God’s prophetic plan. We need to see it as it is written. The world is getting worse as man continues in his stubborn rebellion against the Creator and Savior, and no sanctified earthly spiritual government of man will turn it around no matter how good their intentions may be. If one eliminates this crucial understanding of the last days, he will have no defense against the coming deception that is to sweep the Earth and trap its inhabitants for God’s judgments in the Tribulation.

“U.S. Holocaust Museum Director Rebukes Gazans Identifying as ‘Holocaust Survivors’”
LTRP Note: The following news story is posted for informational and research purposes.
By Aaron Bandler
Jewish News Syndicate
Those who say that Gazans are “holocaust survivors,” having endured Israel’s defensive war against the Hamas terror organization, are to be “widely condemned,” according to Sara Bloomfield, director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
“Falsely comparing the Holocaust to Israel’s response to Hamas’s terrorist attack is an outrageous weaponization of the genocide of European Jewry by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, who systematically murdered six million Jews,” Bloomfield told JNS. “It’s antisemitic, inaccurate, highly offensive and must be widely condemned.” Click here to continue reading.

Letter to the Editor: A Warning About the “Rooted Pilot Course”
LTRP Note: Lighthouse Trails identified Mariner’s Church, the creators of the “Rooted Pilot Course,” as an “emergent/contemplative” church as far back as 2009. With current teaching pastors such as Christine Caine, Ed Stetzer, and Doug Fields, and with their “Rooted” program, they remain in that category. This letter to the editor from one of our readers is an important warning because of the popularity of Rooted.
Dear Lighthouse Trails Editors:
My church is testing a program called “Rooted Pilot Course.” An examination of the participants’ workbook, Rooted: Connect with God, The Church, Your Purpose, and articles on the Rooted Network’s website shows unbiblical teachings and practices in it. Mariner’s Church in California adapted this program for westerns from a course developed by Pastor Muriithi Wanjau and Mavuno Church in Nairobi, Kenya.
Aesthetically, the workbook is a winner. It is a ‘just right’ size and weight and a pleasure to hold; its print and layout are attractive. Contents include 10 weeks of material for group and individual settings. It teaches basics of the Christian faith using extensive quotations from Scripture. I can see how leaders would be eager to use this material in their churches, but a careful look shows that “Rooted” introduces and emphasizes “contemplative” concepts and practices. Participants are tutored in “7 Rhythms” to practice in community and on an ongoing basis after the course concludes. A “Rooted Covenant” on page 15 is to be signed by participants, giving their agreement to attend all group meetings and keep things shared therein confidential.
Week three is “How Does God Speak to Us?” On page 54 of the workbook, God’s omnipresence is acknowledged, but readers are warned
. . . there is no certainty you are engaging Him. It is possible to have dinner with your spouse, but because you are distracted, never enter into his or her presence. We can do that with God, too.
Prayer as a “conversation” is introduced as the “give and take” of prayer (speaking and listening). “Prayer is not just talking to God, it is giving space for Him to communicate back to us” (pg. 54). Page 55 continues:
Listening to God can be a bit mysterious. . . . By slowing down, emptying our minds, and praying, God can communicate directly to us through thoughts and ideas. (emphasis added)
Further tutoring in prayer techniques states:
To yield means to be quiet after you have spoken to God and to listen for what He might say to you. If you regularly take time to listen, you will begin to hear God’s voice.
Journal use is encouraged to record these thoughts and promptings as “keeping record of what God says to you” (pg. 61).
Articles on Rooted Network’s website refer to Spiritual Formation, Ignatian exercises, and the use of experiential prayer practices including lectio divina and prayer labyrinths. An article on the site titled “5 Benefits of a Centralized Prayer Experience” states:
[W]e wanted to stretch our Rooted participants through Lectio Divina (pages 108-109 of the Facilitator Guide). We also designed a prayer labyrinth and other experiential elements for the experience. One of our joys has been seeing people grow in comfort with these ancient practices and desire to use them. (source)
There are other pitfalls with Rooted, but an identification of its “contemplative” elements alone shows it should be marked and avoided.
Ori
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17)

InterVarsity’s “2030 Calling” – Raising Up Young Evangelicals to Be the Mystics of Tomorrow
For many years, Lighthouse Trails has tried to warn the church about evangelical publishing houses that are releasing countless materials which promote and teach contemplative spirituality (via Spiritual Formation). One of the publishing companies that is at the forefront of this effort to bring the New Age/new spirituality practice of contemplative prayer into the church is InterVarsity Press, which has a particular focus on young evangelicals. In light of this, our concerns only heightened when learning of InterVarsity’s “ 2030 Calling,” especially when we consider how contemplative spirituality is one of the most robust vehicles that lead young evangelicals into an anti-biblical, anti-moral outlook.
What is Contemplative Prayer?
For those unfamiliar with the term “contemplative prayer,” it is a mystical prayer practice which uses repetition of a word or phrase (or focus on the breath) to enter the “silence,” “stillness,” or so-called “sacred space” in order to, supposedly, hear the voice of God. In fact, contemplative proponents like Beth Moore say you cannot even be close to God without this inner stillness. However, as author and researcher Ray Yungen points out, it is a great deception for Christians to believe this is a safe and legitimate method of communing with God, and nowhere in Scripture are we admonished to do this. In actuality, though one’s intent may be to seek the Lord, practicing something that is virtually identical in method to New Age/eastern meditation practices such as Transcendental Meditation is dangerous and will get the same result as TM practitioners—and that is to reach a spiritually demonic realm. And as Yungen explains, the “fruit” and the roots of contemplative prayer are interspirituality (all paths lead to God) and panentheism (God is in all).
InterVarsity Press—A History of Promoting CP
Lighthouse Trails began tracking the contemplative propensities of InterVarsity Press (IVP) nearly 20 years ago!
In 2006, we examined the connection IVP had developed with the now defunct Conversations Journal (a “Forum for Authentic Transformation”). The Journal, founded by three contemplative advocates (Larry Crabb, Gary Moon, and David Benner) and promoted by many contemplative emergents such as Dallas Willard, John Ortberg, Richard Foster and Catholic mystic Basil Pennington, hoped to “transform” Christian believers into Christian mystics through contemplative prayer.
Also in 2006, we wrote an article that listed some of the books contemplative publishers had recently (at that time) published. InterVarsity’s list contained The Garden of the Soul by Keri Wyatt Kent, Sacred Companions by David Benner, Invitation to Solitude and Silence by Ruth Haley Barton, Meditative Prayer by Richard Foster, and Solitude and Silence by Jan Johnson. These authors are some of the major heavyweights in the contemplative prayer (aka Spiritual Formation) movement, and IVP was right in the middle of this all-out effort to transform the church.
Over the next 14 years, Lighthouse Trails often included InterVarsity Press in articles and reports on contemplative spirituality in the church as IVP consistently continued publishing these materials. Today, Meditative Prayer by Foster and Invitation to Solitude and Silence by Barton are still on IVP’s book list. The following is from our booklet Is Your Church Doing Spiritual Formation? just to give a small snapshot of what contemplative figures in the church today teach:
[In his book] Meditative Prayer, Foster says that the purpose of meditative prayer is to create a “spiritual space” or “inner sanctuary” through “specific meditation exercises” (p.9). Foster references several mystics in the book who can point the way to these exercises: Madame Guyon, Teresa of Avila, Francis de Sales, Henri Nouwen, and Thomas Merton. Foster breaks the contemplative process down into three steps. He says:
“The first step [into meditative prayer] is sometimes called “centering down.” Others have used the term re-collection; that is, a re-collecting of ourselves until we are unified or whole. The idea is to let go of all competing distractions until we are truly centered, until we are truly present where we are.”(p.9)
Foster suggests that practicing visualization methods helps us center down. In the second step of meditation, Foster suggests that mystic Richard Rolle experienced “physical sensations” (p.17) (kundalini) during meditation which perhaps we may or may not experience as well. (p.18) Step three of meditation, Foster says, is that of “listening” to God. Once the meditative exercises have been implemented and the “spiritual ecstasy” is reached, this entered realm is where the voice of God can be heard. (p.23) However, as any New Age meditator knows, this ecstatic state is an altered state of consciousness where everything is supposed to be unified and one with God. Foster acknowledges the interspiritual attribute linked to contemplative prayer when he states: “[Jesus] showed us God’s yearning for the gathering of an all-inclusive community of loving persons.” (p.5) Foster defines more of what he means by “all-inclusive” in his book Streams of Living Water when he says this “all-inclusive community” includes everything from a “Catholic monk” to a “Baptist evangelist.” (p.12)
InterVarsity Press Today
Today, you will find that InterVarsity Press has not just continued on the contemplative publishing path, it has embraced it wholeheartedly to the nth degree. IVP books feature everything from Enneagrams to labyrinths to many forms of meditation practices, and as is the “natural” course for those practicing contemplative prayer, IVP also includes a growing number of books and authors that promote social justice and all that goes with it including Critical Race Theory.
Thus, when we read about IVP’s goal for the year 2030 (“2030 Calling”), knowing that the main target is young evangelicals, we shudder. Here is the description of “2030 Calling”:
Longing for revival, we catalyze movements that call every corner of every campus to follow Jesus [the mystical contemplative “Jesus”] For over 75 years, InterVarsity has worked to establish witnessing communities on almost 700 campuses. But did you know that of the 2,500 US college campuses (with 1,000+ students), more than half have no known campus ministry presence? God has given InterVarsity the 2030 Calling, to reach all 2,500 campuses by the year 2030. To do this, we will start ministries on new campuses, mobilize millions to pray, and partner with other ministries and churches. (source, emphasis added)
The Mystics of Tomorrow
Catholic mystic and panentheist Richard Rohr (who is praised on the IVP website) said once that one of his publishers told him his biggest audience is young evangelical men. That would suggest that the future pastors, fathers, and leaders of the “Christian church” are going to be mystical meditators! So mystic Karl Rahner was right (as Ray Yungen often pointed out) when Rahner said, “The Christian of the future will be a mystic or he will be nothing.” Did we mention that one of IVP’s authors, Ron Highfield wrote a book titled Great is the Lord: Theology for the Praise of God, Barth and [Karl] Rahner: Toward an Ecumenical Understanding of Sin and Evil, God, Freedom & Human Dignity?
In the last chapter of Ray Yungen’s book, A Time of Departing titled “The Christian of the Future,” Yungen states:
Within the evangelical world, contemplative prayer is increasingly being promoted and accepted. As a result, it is losing its esoteric aspect and is now seen by many as the wave of the future. . . .
Contemplative advocates propose that there has been something vital and important missing from the church for centuries. The insinuation is that Christians have been lacking something necessary for their spiritual vitality; but that would mean the Holy Spirit has not been fully effective for hundreds of years and only now the secret key has been found that unlocks God’s full power to know Him. These proponents believe that Christianity has been seriously crippled without this extra ingredient. This kind of thinking leads one to believe that traditional, biblical Christianity is merely a philosophy without the contemplative prayer element. Contemplatives are making a distinction between studying and meditating on the Word of God versus experiencing Him, suggesting that we cannot hear Him or really know Him simply by studying His Word or even through normal prayer—we must be contemplative to accomplish this. But the Bible makes it clear that the Word of God is living and active, and has always been that way, and it is in filling our minds with it that we come to love Him, not through a mystical practice of stopping the flow of thought (the stillness) that is never once mentioned in the Bible, except in warnings against vain repetitions. . . .
Mysticism neutralizes doctrinal differences by sacrificing the truth of Scripture for a mystical experience. Mysticism offers a common ground, and supposedly that commonality is divinity in all. But we know from Scripture “there is one God; and there is none other but he” (Mark 12:32).
In one book that was being sold on IVP’s website (of which they are distributors, not the publishers) titled The Teenage Prayer Experiment Notebook by Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, it states, “Each chapter of the book introduces a prayer practice, eg using labyrinths, Lego Bible modelling, prayer beads, prayer walking.” The book also includes a chapter titled “Breathing Meditations” and one on the meditative prayer exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (founder of the Jesuits). They have since removed the book from their site but still feature the author.
As InterVarsity Press races to reach millions of young people by 2030 with its mystical message, please do what you can to educate and equip your children and grandchildren before they pick up an IVP book or attend an IVP meeting in college and have their lives and their spirituality turned upside down.
Important Note: If you know a person who is attending a Christian college or going to be attending a Christian college, Lighthouse Trails is offering a free copy A Time of Departing. Just e-mail us at editors@lighthousetrails.com, and we will send you a copy of the book (which fully defines contemplative prayer/Spiritual Formation and its dangers) so you can give it to this person.

Letter to the Editor: “False Teachings of Dustin Nemos Has Deceived My Husband”
Dear Lighthouse Trails:
I live in Victoria, Australia. I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ since 1979.
I have subscribed to Lighthouse Trails for many years and always look forward to receiving your Newsletters that always contain truthful information.
Today, I am writing to seek your advice on Dustin Nemos (dustinnemos.com). I wonder if you have heard of his ministry?
I have researched him for some time and believe he is a false teacher and living in the Old Covenant! I am concerned for my husband, James,* as his relationship with the Lord has waned since taking on board this man’s teachings—particularly absorbing Nemos’ diabolical rhetoric and interpretation on the history of the Jews, and that the Jews today are not of God—even stating that Jesus is not a Jew! Plus many deceptive videos Nemos puts on the Bitchute website. Until he started watching Dustin Nemos, my husband was very supportive of Israel and the Jews. Sadly, James has no real understanding of God’s Covenant with Israel.
Nemos is ensnaring Christians who are ignorant of Bible truth to take their eyes off Jesus and focus on Dustin Nemos. There is no talk of salvation or eschatology coming from his “pulpit”! His Uncensored Church is open to deception and counterfeit Christianity; I believe he is currently writing his own Uncensored Bible, which is a concern! Even his Serapeum logo “HISTORY” is demonic, entangled with a snake and Jesus on the cross!
He states he is willing to lay down his life for the truth! I ask which truth?
During the last 12 months, I have compiled four in-depth pages on the spiritual background of Nemos, and the above info is only the tip of the iceberg on his false teaching.
However, my concern is my husband’s total absorption with Dustin Nemos. I have shared biblical truths, relevant Bible verses, and attempted to explain that this man is false. He will not listen to me; he says I am deceived, as well as all churches for they do not seek truth concerning the history of the Jews. Nemos talks about the “evil Talmud” and the “satanic Rabbis” of today who are involved in child-sacrificing, governments of every nation.
What grieves me also is that James forwards all this information to our friends and family. Unfortunately, because of his deceptive influence from Dustin Nemos, we are now walking down separate spiritual paths. (Amos 3:3).
I am continually in spiritual warfare, praying and fasting that the Lord would take the scales from my husband’s eyes. Sadly too, our outreach ministry has been put on hold due to my husband’s attitude towards the Jews.
As James is adamant that he will not listen to any pastors’ opinions, I do feel confident, however, that he may listen to information from an independent source like Lighthouse Trails. I, therefore, would be very grateful for any information that could support my claim that Dustin Nemos is a false and deceptive teacher.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read my email.
May God bless Lighthouse Trails.
Yours in Christ,
Julia*

Lighthouse Trails Response:
Dear Julia:
Thank you for your email. It is heart wrenching to read what has happened with your husband. And we ourselves have seen this happen to others, and it truly breaks our hearts. We actually just lost a dear friend (a LT friend) to such teachings. It just so happens that our author Mike Oppenheimer has written a booklet (which we hope to release very soon) on Mike Adams (the “Health Ranger”), and Mike Oppenheimer told us in the past that Adams and Nemos share the same views.
Have you heard that Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens (both considered conservative Christians who gained a big following during the Covid years)? They have come out very antisemitic and have absorbed many of the teachings you describe. Well, Dennis Prager of Prager U. wrote an open letter to Canace last fall addressing some of these beliefs. It’s a very well-done letter, and we are attaching it so you can see if your husband will read it. Perhaps he’s even heard of Prager. At least he can see that there are reputable people who are refuting these horrible teachings against Israel and the Jews.
When we first encountered these antisemitic views about ten years ago, we spoke with a long-time LT reader on the phone about it. He said, “Well, if the Jews are the ones controlling the whole world, why are there only 14 million of them in the world?!” And just show your husband the map (see below). Look at the size of Israel!
Hitler convinced the German people that the Jews were horrible and even animal like. He duped them, just like Nemos is duping many. This really is extremely satanic. We pray your husband’s eyes will be opened. We took a look on Mike Oppenheimer’s site (Let Us Reason Ministries) and found that he has written a 4-part article on Nemos this year. It’s not in its fully edited format, but we are sending you the links:

Heavenly Visions of Jesus Or “Lying Signs & Wonders” of a False New Age Christ?—Akiane Kramarik and Heaven is for Real
By Warren B. Smith
Go, therefore, and teach ye all nations, spreading far and wide, The New Gospel: We Are All One.1
—False New Age “God” channeled by Neale Donald Walsch
We are all One, no matter in what form, space or time. We are not the same, but we are all One split into many.2
—AkIane Kramarik, “Visionary” Artist
“We are all One” is the foundational bottom-line teaching of the New Age/New Gospel of the coming false Christ. Best-selling author and self-described psychic medium Neale Donald Walsch has been hailed by New Age influencer Oprah Winfrey as one of her “ten most memorable thinkers.”3 She has described his Conversations with God, Book 1, as her “favorite book.”4 Yet in Walsch’s CWG series, “God” tells him that the New Gospel of “Oneness”—God “in” everyone—will transition the world into a “golden” New Age. He writes:
Go, therefore, and teach ye all nations, spreading far and wide, The New Gospel: We Are All One.5
The twenty-first century will be the time of awakening, of meeting The Creator Within. Many beings will experience Oneness with God and with all of life. This will be the beginning of the golden age of the New Human, of which it has been written; the time of the universal human, which has been eloquently described by those with deep insight among you.
There are many such people in the world now—teachers and messengers, Masters and visionaries—who are placing this vision before humankind and offering tools with which to create it. These messengers and visionaries are the heralds of a New Age.6
Akiane Kramarik
One of the “messengers” and “visionaries” heralding this golden New Age is a thirty-one-year-old American artist named Akiane Kramarik, a former child prodigy who was receiving dreams and visions from “Jesus” and started drawing at age four. At the age of eight, she completed her now-famous Prince of Peace portrait of the “Jesus” she met and interacted with in her mystical mind. With the help of a mysterious seven-foot-tall model who suddenly showed up at her front door, her portrait is a stunning representation of the “Jesus” she saw in her dreams and visions.
Akiane and her paintings went instantly viral in 2003 after she appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show at the age of nine. For most of the millions watching, her paintings were an absolute wonder to behold. How could a young child produce such amazing artwork? And now, with her Prince of Peace portrait, did the world finally have a true picture of what Jesus actually looks like? Or was Akiane’s “Jesus” one of the false Christs the real Jesus Christ warned us about in Scripture?
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
And a Little Child Shall Mislead Them?
Some of the teachings that have emerged from Akiane’s interactions with “Jesus” are posted on her website. Akiane describes herself as a Christian and states that Jesus is her Lord—but what Jesus? Some of the teachings she has posted are not the true teachings of biblical Christianity. Instead, they present the New Age Gospel of “Oneness” that falsely proclaims, “We are all One” because we all share a capital “S” Self—a universal “Divine Self.” Akiane’s website states:
Relationship with our Selves is our relationship with our universe. . . .
This world rarely meets our expectations, and our forgetfulness of our Divine Self and purpose for us is a true mystery. . . .
Comprehending the significance of our living here forms peace and assurance of our oneness with everyone, the conviction that we are all part of that collective puzzle, part of one and the same Spirit, part of The Divinity, part of each and every one we will meet today on a train, in a bookstore, in a hospital or in a neighborhood park.
We are all One, no matter in what form, space or time. We are not the same, but we are all One split into many. And as One we can change the world in a ripple effect if we start changing just one single action. Just one single word or just one single thought.7 (emphasis added)
Contrary to what Akiane states, we are not “all One.” Humanity does not have a naturally indwelling “Divine Self.” God is not “in” everyone. These teachings are completely false and definitely New Age. In these few paragraphs alone, Akiane has publicly aligned herself with all the many occultists, theosophists, spiritists, psychics, and New Age channelers who have expressed these same unbiblical beliefs down through the years.
Given Akiane’s New Age beliefs, why would any biblical Christian believe that Akiane’s portrait of “Jesus” has anything to do with the real Jesus Christ? Yet there are church leaders, many in the Christian media, and countless day-to-day Christians who do believe that her portrait is an accurate picture of the true Jesus Christ. And one of the main reasons they believe this is because of a best-selling book by a Christian pastor titled Heaven is for Real. In it, Pastor Todd Burpo writes about his three-year-old son Colton’s alleged trip to “heaven” during an emergency medical procedure and how it was there in “heaven” that his son, like Akiane, met and interacted with “Jesus” face-to-face. But most significantly, he writes that the “Jesus” his son met and conversed with looks just like Akiane’s portrait of “Jesus.”8
Heaven is for Real and the Burpos
Heaven is for Real was published in 2010 and remains a very popular book today. It has sold millions of copies, and in 2014 it was made into a feature movie. Both the book and the movie of the young boy’s story make people think that Akiane’s “Jesus” is an accurate picture of the real Jesus. In fact, the film, Heaven is for Real, literally begins with Akiane starting to paint her now-famous work and dramatically ends with a zoomed-in close-up of her completed “Jesus” portrait filling the entire movie screen.
The Heaven is for Real story seems to gain credibility when Colton accurately describes what each of his parents were separately doing when he was being operated on for a burst appendix. Further credibility appears to be gained when he reportedly encounters a miscarried “sister” in “heaven”—a miscarriage that his parents had never told him about. His sudden knowledge of the miscarriage shocked his parents and seemed to offer them more proof that he had actually gone to “heaven.”
In addition, Colton said he saw his great-grandfather in “heaven”—a relative he had never met because the great-grandfather had died years before Colton was even born. Colton said that everyone in “heaven” was young, including his great-grandfather. When his father showed him a photograph of his great-grandfather as an older man, Colton didn’t recognize him. But when he was later shown a younger picture of this same great-grandfather, Colton recognized him right away. This amazed his parents and seemed to lend further credibility to Colton’s story.
However, the most convincing “evidence” that seemed to prove that Colton had indeed gone to “heaven” was when he recognized Akiane’s “Jesus.” He said the “Jesus” she painted from her heavenly dreams and visions was the same “Jesus” he had seen in his visit to “heaven.” Colton’s recognition of Akiane’s “Jesus” astounded his parents. Maybe their son really had gone to heaven!
The CNN Story
In Heaven is for Real, Colton’s father writes that his son first saw Akiane’s portrait of “Jesus” in a CNN piece about the young artist. A link to the CNN video had been forwarded to the Burpos by a friend because of some apparent parallels in Akiane and Colton’s experiences in “heaven.”
At one point, the CNN segment featured Akiane’s Prince of Peace portrait of “Jesus.”9 According to his father, Colton had seen “hundreds” of pictures of “Jesus.”10 However, none of them looked like the “Jesus” Colton had seen in “heaven.” His father paused the CNN clip showing Akiane’s painting of “Jesus.” He then called Colton over to take a look. Shocking his father, Colton said, “Dad, that one’s right.”11
After Colton’s recognition and affirmation of Akiane’s “Jesus,” his mother and father felt they had finally seen the actual face of Jesus Christ—or, at least, a near facsimile. Pastor Burpo wrote:
Knowing how many pictures Colton had rejected, Sonja and I finally felt that in Akiane’s portrait, we’d seen the face of Jesus. Or at least a startling likeness.12
Thus, readers of Heaven is for Real were being told by a Christian pastor that the “Jesus” his son met and conversed with in his trip to “heaven” was the same “Jesus” Akiane encountered in her visions of “heaven.” And while it apparently was the same “Jesus,” it was definitely not the true Jesus Christ. Based on things she was saying, Akiane had obviously learned the foundational teachings of the New Age/New Gospel from the many interactions she had with her “Jesus.” And now here was Colton seeming to authenticate and validate her New Age “Jesus?”
What becomes clear is that Akiane’s “Jesus” and the Bible’s Jesus Christ are two different Jesuses presenting two different gospels. The Bible warns us not to be deceived by those who come with “another Jesus,” “another spirit,” and “another gospel” that does not line up with the true gospel of the true Jesus Christ:
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:4)
New Age Deception
Most Christians don’t understand just how far our Spiritual Adversary will go in deceiving people—even little children. As former New Agers, my wife and I were deceived by a similar counterfeit “Jesus.”13 The following are just a few examples of what this false “Jesus” taught us about our supposed “Oneness” and our God “in” everyone “Divine Selves.” This “Jesus” states:
God’s Oneness and ours are not separate, because His Oneness encompasses ours.14
The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself. There is no separation of God and His creation.15
For Christ takes many forms with different names until their oneness can be recognized.16
The oneness of the Creator and the creation is your wholeness, your sanity and your limitless power.17
But then comes the real kicker—this false New Age “Jesus” told us that we save ourselves by awakening to our “Oneness” with God, by awakening to our “Divine Selves”—by awakening to the “God within.” He heretically and blasphemously told us:
A slain Christ has no meaning.18
The journey to the cross should be the last “useless journey.”19
Do not make the pathetic error of “clinging to the old rugged cross.”20
Because of our own deceptive mystical experiences, we had learned firsthand that this counterfeit “Jesus,” and his deceptive spirits, have many devious devices in their supernatural bag of tricks. This false Christ does not come with a pitchfork, a tail, and a set of horns. Rather he comes as an “angel of light,” often pretending to be Jesus Himself. And in this guise of “Jesus,” he can even appear as the Prince of Peace in a portrait painted by an eight-year-old child.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (Matthew 24:4-5)
We came to learn that our Spiritual Adversary will go to any lengths to further his evil agenda. For him, spiritually manipulating two little children with false dreams and visions and deceptive experiences is no big deal. In fact, deceiving them with his powerful “signs and lying wonders” is right up his supernatural alley:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. (2 Thessalonians 2:9).
Misleading Two Innocent Children
For our Adversary to deceive Akiane and Colton—two innocent and unsuspecting children—was both cruel and wickedly ingenious. In fact, it was spiritual child abuse of the highest order. How would young children know anything about “false Christs” (Matthew 24:24),“seducing spirits” (1 Timothy 4:1), and “the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9)? How would they know about spiritual deception and the need to test the spirits to see if what they were experiencing and being told is really from God (1 John 4:1-3)? No, they did what any child would do under these circumstances—they trusted what they were being shown and told. Then, speaking from their hearts, they simply reported what they experienced. However, the problem, I believe, is that what they experienced was not from God, and it was not what it seemed to be.
Deceived and Deceiving
Heaven is definitely real, but I believe the “heaven” Akiane and Colton experienced was not the real heaven. And while Jesus Christ is definitely real, the “Jesus” they met and interacted with was not the real Jesus Christ. The true Jesus Christ would never convey the “We are all One” New Age message of “Oneness.” They had been cleverly deceived by cunningly orchestrated false dreams (Jeremiah 23:32) and false visions (Ezekiel 13:7). But, again, how were two children supposed to know anything about the Bible and its warnings about spiritual deception without first being taught? Because Akiane’s parents were atheists, they were of no help when it came to spiritually discerning her visions of “heaven” and her encounters with “Jesus.” And while Colton’s parents were Christians, his father a pastor no less, they were apparently unaware of the warnings about deception in Scripture and just how far the spirit world would go in deceiving their son, themselves, and the millions of people who would read Heaven is for Real and watch the movie.
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 2:11)
Again, just like Akiane and Colton, my wife and I really believed what we were experiencing and being taught by our false New Age “Jesus.” And like Akiane and Colton, we truly believed that we were following the true Jesus when we were actually following one of the false Christs the real Jesus Christ warns us about in the Bible. Yet we eventually came to see that our “Jesus” and his Doctrine of Oneness was not from God but from our Spiritual Adversary and his seducing spirits.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1)
A Billion Views!
After Akiane’s “Jesus” was recognized and confirmed by Colton Burpo, his father had an immediate concern. What if other people who went to “heaven” and saw “Jesus” didn’t agree with Akiane and Colton? In a church interview posted on YouTube, Pastor Burpo said he wondered if those others would report seeing a different “Jesus” than the one seen by Akiane and Colton. But that didn’t happen. Colton’s father said that of the “thousands” of people who contacted him about their own near-death experiences and personal visions of “Jesus,” all of them said their “Jesus” looked “exactly” like Colton and Akiane’s “Jesus.” In fact, not one person reported otherwise. Pastor Burpo said:
I anticipated all kinds of people to contact me and say, well I saw Jesus, I went to heaven, and he didn’t look like that. I’ve had zero people do that. What, 13 million copies later, I’ve had thousands of people say that’s exactly what he looks like.21
Amazingly, almost unbelievably, Akiane’s website reports that over a billion people have viewed her online gallery that features her Prince of Peace portrait.22 And for over twenty years, traveling in over thirty countries, doing major television and media interviews almost everwhere she went, Akiane’s “Jesus” has been seen by millions upon millions of additional people. Because of this, Akiane’s “Jesus” is now the most globally accepted “go-to” picture of “Jesus.” Untold numbers of people around the world are now convinced they have seen the actual face of Jesus Christ. But what has gotten lost in all of this is that a false New Age Christ has not only made another entrance into the world, but thanks to Colton and Akiane, he has made a dramatic entrance into the church itself. Thus, the spiritual implications of Akiane’s portrait are enormous. People everywhere are coming to believe that Akiane’s portrait is a true and accurate representation of the Bible’s Jesus Christ.
Akiane and the “Heaven is Real” Conference
The Beloved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas, is dedicated to promoting “faith through art.” It was founded after the $850,000 purchase of Akiane’s Prince of Peace portrait, where it is now housed with a number of her other paintings. Playing off of the Akiane and Heaven is for Real connection, the gallery’s 2024 conference was titled “Heaven Is Real.” One of the highlights of the conference was pastor and best-selling author John Burke’s interview with Akiane. During their discussion, Burke shared that of the many people he has had contact with about their own “heavenly” experiences, countless numbers of them reported that Akiane’s “Jesus” is the same “Jesus” they saw in “heaven.”23 As Akiane’s “Jesus” portrait was shown on an overhead screen, Pastor Burke suggested that Akiane must be telling the truth:
Well, and I think you know, the world recognized that you must be telling the truth because how can an eight-year-old paint that?24
But maybe an eight-year-old child didn’t paint that—at least not all by herself. Maybe she had some supernatural help. Many people are aware of an occult practice known as automatic writing, but very few are aware of the occult practice of automatic painting.
Automatic Writing
In The Titanic and Today’s Church, I wrote about a Titanic passenger named William Stead. This well-known British journalist died when the seemingly unsinkable Titanic sank on its maiden voyage in 1912. Stead, a professing Christian, was, in reality, a deceived spiritualist. Among other things, he believed in talking with the dead through an occult process known as “automatic writing.”25 In particular, he described receiving letters delivered from the “spirit” of a deceased friend named Julia Ames. Through the process of automatic writing, her alleged “spirit” would take control of Stead’s writing hand and produce letters that included messages from her spirit guides—and even “Jesus.”
In his book, After Death: Letters From Julia, Stead wrote of the time “Julia” had a secret message from “Jesus” that she wanted to pass on to Stead. The teaching was the same one that Akiane’s “Jesus” impressed upon her—“We are all One” but we have forgotten our “Divine Selves,” and now we have to remember our divinity and personally develop our “God within.” Writing through Stead, “Julia” elaborates on this message from “Jesus”:
The object of life is to evoke, to develop the God within.26
Thus, what Akiane was being taught was what Stead and other spiritualists, occultists, and New Agers have also been taught through the years—“We are all One” because we are all connected by the “Divine God within.”
It was also communicated through “Julia’s” automatic writing that a huge worldwide revival—“a great spiritual awakening among the nations”27—would be taking place in the future; and this “great” revival would gain huge momentum as humanity awakened to their “Divine Selves”—to the “God within.” But, biblically speaking, this would be a false revival because it would be fueled by the false “We are all One” teachings of the false New Age Christ. Thus, it would not be a “great” revival but rather a great deception—perhaps even the massive global deception prophesied in the Bible’s Book of Revelation (Revelation 18:23). And just as the spirit world had a literal “hand” in producing automatic writing, it also had a literal “hand” in the occult practice of automatic painting.
Automatic Painting
Automatic writing is a supernatural, mystical, occult process. And just as automatic writing is delivered from a deceptive spirit world, so is a similar phenomenon known as “automatic painting.” In an online article titled “Automatic Painting,” Dutch occultist Marinus Jan Marijs describes an automatic painter cited in Stanislav Grof’s book When the Impossible Happens.28 In his book, Grof writes about a Brazilian artist named Luiz Antonio Gasparetto. The artist openly states that he was channeling the “spirits” of famous dead painters as he produced a variety of paintings in each of the famous painter’s characteristic styles.
Grof, a residential psychologist at the New Age Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, writes of the time Gasparetto came to Esalen and performed before an audience that included Grof himself. With just a small red light in an otherwise darkened hall, Gasparetto and his dead painter “spirits” went to work painting. Grof explained:
Luiz started to paint and, with astonishing speed, he kept producing one remarkable painting after another, each in the style of a different famous painter—van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin, Rembrandt, Monet and many others. He was using both of his hands, at times painting two pictures simultaneously, one with each hand. Much of the time, he was not looking at the paper at all; he kept closing his eyes and bending his head backwards or to the side. He actually painted a Manet* portrait upside down, under the table, and with his right foot, without looking at all. Luiz’s stunning performance lasted a little over an hour. When he stopped painting, the floor around him was covered with large paintings, twenty-six of them altogether. In spite of the red light in the room, all the paintings were painted in appropriate colors.29
Thus, the spirit world is not only capable of producing automatic writing but automatic painting as well. Ironically, the Grof book describing Gasparetto’s automatic painting is titled When the Impossible Happens, and Akiane’s online video describing how she painted the Prince of Peace is titled Painting the Impossible.
In Marijs article on automatic painting, he describes how the painting “spirits” work in a number of different ways with different automatic painters. Some painters work in a trance, while others are influenced in much more subtle and less noticeable ways.
Given what we have come to know about Akiane’s foundational New Age beliefs, it would not be overstepping the line to suggest that deceptive spirits had a definite role in producing her dreams and visions and, in particular, her interactions with “Jesus.” It would also be fair to suggest that unseen spirits may have had a literal hand—using Akiane’s own hand—in producing her paintings too. The spiritual influence is very apparent in the titles she has given to some of her paintings—New Age terms like Co-Creation, Light-Bearers, Follow Your Heart, Unity, Connectedness, Aura, Enlightenment, Spiritual Flow, and Dharma among others. But this unseen spiritual influence is perhaps most evident in a painting that she titled Quantum World.
Quantum Deception
Akiane describes how as a twelve-year-old girl, she had no idea what she was doing when she painted a mysterious picture she titled Quantum World. In various interviews, she said she felt a lot of “energy” painting Quantum World and how the painting almost seemed to paint itself. She also relates how a quantum physicist later visited her family home and told them that her Quantum World painting portrayed some important aspects of quantum physics.30
Not surprisingly, occult/New Age leaders have been trying for years to use quantum physics to prove that “We are all One” because, they say, divine quantum energy interpenetrates and interconnects all of creation. Professing Christian and prominent church leader, Leonard Sweet, has been trying to bring this quantum New Age physics into the church for several decades. In his 1991 book titled Quantum Spirituality, he praises New Age leaders like M. Scott Peck and Matthew Fox as two of his “personal role models” and “heroes.”31 He also describes “the father of the New Age movement,” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, as “Twentieth-century Christianity’s major voice.”32 Sweet heretically writes that “God” is embodied “in” creation, and he actually calls this embodiment a “doctrine.” He also quotes Catholic mystic Thomas Merton to illustrate his “We are all One,” Quantum doctrine of Oneness worldview. Leonard Sweet writes:
Quantum spirituality bonds us to all creation. . . .This entails a radical doctrine of embodiment of God in the very substance of creation.33
We are already one. But we imagine that we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity.34
The attempt by New Age sympathizers like Sweet to have the church make a quantum leap into a Quantum/New Age/New Gospel/New Spirituality should sound alarm bells throughout Christendom. God is not embodied in His creation, and we are not all spiritually “One.” In writing to Timothy, the apostle Paul warns of those “who have erred concerning the faith” as they opposed the truth with “science falsely so called”:
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. (1Timothy 6:20-21)
What If?
What if a man looking exactly like Akiane and Colton’s “Jesus” were to suddenly appear on the world scene before a battery of microphones and television cameras? What if he introduces himself to the world as the Bible’s “Jesus?” What if the countless people seeing him on their various devices instantly recognize him as the “Jesus” from Akiane’s Prince of Peace portrait or from their own mystical experiences? What if he tells everyone that he has been greatly misunderstood for the last two thousand years? What if he says he has returned at this time to “set things right” by delivering the true Gospel, which in actuality will be the New Age/New Gospel/New Spirituality of Oneness?
Before these What if scenarios are too quickly dismissed, consider this. For untold millions of people—thanks to Akiane’s painting—this “Jesus” would seem to be stepping right out of her portrait and into their hearts and homes. Because of their familiarity with Akiane’s “Jesus” and being ignorant of the Bible’s warnings about a false Christ, much of the world could easily believe that this “Jesus” is the true Jesus and not the false Jesus he really is. And if the “Jesus” Akiane and Colton saw does someday appear, the deceptive visions and experiences the children were given will seem like small potatoes when fire is called down from heaven, and by supernatural sorcery all nations are deceived.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. (Revelation 13:13)
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. (Revelation 18:23) (emphasis added)
The coming of the ultimate false Christ—Antichrist—is not some wild speculation. The Bible’s Book of Revelation is a description of the events that will definitely unfold some time in the future—perhaps much sooner than people might think. The coming of Antichrist is not a vague possibility—it is a prophetic certainty. And the prophecy is given to us by the real Jesus Christ Himself, who says:
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3)
Saved by Grace—Not Our “Divine Selves”
The Bible makes it clear that we are not all “One” and we do not have a “Divine Self.” However, we are all “one blood” because we come from an original set of parents—Adam and Eve (Acts 17:26). Also, God does not inherently dwell “in” everyone and everything. Rather, the Holy Spirit is sent to dwell in us when we place our faith and trust in the one true Jesus Christ and His one true Gospel. We are not saved by “remembering” our “Divine Selves” and “awakening” to our universal “Oneness.” We are saved by grace through the true Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
My Unheavenly Reception
Soon after the movie version of Heaven is for Real came out in 2014, I was asked to give the Sunday message at a rural church outside of Winnipeg, Canada. In my talk, I focused on some of the deceptive “Christian” books that were primarily based on personal experiences rather than the Bible. One of the books I talked about was Heaven is for Real.
While not doubting what young Colton Burpo had experienced, I told the group I questioned what produced his experience, the truth of what he experienced, and the spiritual conclusions that were being drawn about “heaven” and “Jesus” based on his experience. I had a number of concerns, but I said my chief concern was Colton Burpo’s recognition of Akiane’s New Age “Jesus” and how the basic teachings of that “Jesus” were contrary to Scripture. It was a very sober message for an otherwise sunny Sunday morning.
After I concluded my talk, the pastor asked if I would greet people as they left the sanctuary. As I shook hands with people passing by, I noticed I was getting a very cool reception from some of them. One lady in particular gave me a dagger-like look that seemed to shoot right through me. After the church emptied, I told the pastor I had never received so many dirty looks after giving a message. With a slight, almost apologetic smile, he said if he knew I was going to talk about Heaven is for Real, he would have warned me. He said the Heaven is for Real movie was filmed around many of their farms and ranches and that some of them had grown very attached to the story that had been filmed in their midst. That certainly explained why I had received the less than enthusiastic response to my message!
Conclusion
Akiane and Colton’s publicly and commercially proclaimed experiences in “heaven” are a far cry from the apostle Paul’s silence regarding his experiences in heaven. Paul was specifically kept from talking about what he had seen and been told. Yet, in contrast, Akiane and Colton talk freely about their experiences in “heaven” and are usually exalted and treated like royalty. Quite a contrast to Paul. No public acclaim or worldly success. No best-selling books or high-priced paintings regarding his experience. Rather, because of his courageous stand on preaching the true Gospel and speaking truth, he was hunted, whipped, beaten, jailed, and constantly persecuted. His reward wasn’t selling a painting of Jesus for $850,000 or getting royalties from the sale of thirteen million books. His reward was “a thorn in the flesh” to keep him humble and from being “exalted above measure” (2 Corinthians 12:7).
For those who take exception to any criticism of Akiane and Colton’s “heavenly” visions—especially of their “Jesus”—they might consider doing what Joshua and the Israelites did not do when they were being deceived by the Gibeonites. After the fact, Joshua said they had been deceived because they “asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord” (Joshua 9:14). In short, they did not pray about what they were experiencing and being told.
Before we just jump on the bandwagon of people’s near-death experiences, trips to “heaven,” and meetings with “Jesus,” let us remember to be good Bereans by searching the Scriptures to see if what we are encountering is really “so” (Acts 17:11). Let us “watch and pray” so that we don’t enter into temptation (Matthew 26:41). And let us beware of “lying signs and wonders” that are not from God.
We have a Spiritual Adversary who has moved very rapidly into a very undiscerning church. The Bible warns us that his plan is to replace the true Jesus Christ with his Antichrist imposter and his antichrist system. What we are now witnessing is how this coming false Christ has intruded himself into almost every aspect of our lives in the most cunningly inventive supernatural ways. He is doing it through books, movies, games, television, social media, podcasts, friends, family, church leaders, and even through the lives of unsuspecting and innocent children—like Akiane Kramarik and Colton Burpo.

Donating to Lighthouse Trails
SUPPORTING LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS: For those who would like to support Lighthouse Trails, we always appreciate both your prayers and your giving. And for those who have faithfully done that over the years, we thank you with all of our hearts. We know that some people may have the impression that Lighthouse Trails does quite well financially because we sell products that we publish and because our resources have had such a far reach; but, the truth is, it takes everything made through sales to keep Lighthouse Trails operating. Publishing, at least for small presses such as ours, is rarely a high-profit business. It would take a best seller to see that, one that the masses of people love. And because we are not just a business, but even more so a ministry, we keep our prices as low as we can, give away many resources, and have also made much of our material available for free on the research site and blog. That's not how big corporations run things as that would hurt the bottom line (profit), but we see the needs out there, and we trust God to keep us going as long as He sees fit.
We thank you in advance for seeing the value in a ministry like Lighthouse Trails and coming along side us with your prayers and support.
It is our prayer that we will faithfully be humble servants of the Lord’s work for years to come should the Lord tarry. If you would like to donate to Lighthouse Trails, you may send a donation by mailing it to: Lighthouse Trails, P.O. Box 307, Roseburg, Oregon 97470. Or you may call 866/876-3910. There is also a donate option on our store website.
Lighthouse Trails is not a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, so your donations will not be tax deductible. |

INFORMATION ABOUT LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS
In 2010, Lighthouse Trails began a small organic tea division as a way to help support the ministry of Lighthouse Trails. Thus the creation of Shepherd's Bible Verse Tea with five different organic blends (each our very own creation). Each tea bag (produced in an organic facility) has a string with a tag, and on each tag is a KJV Bible verse (95 verses used). Since the tea division began, we have had many people tell us how much they love our tea. We hope you will consider getting a box or a bag and trying it out. It makes a wonderful gift too and helps to remind people about God's wonderful Word.

A note to our Canadian readers: As many of you know, in 2019, we were informed by the Canadian government that some of our booklets cannot be sent across the border into Canada because they would be considered "hate propaganda" according to Canadian law changes on homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and transgenderism. However, we also learned that it is currently not illegal for Canadians to have possession of these booklets (we just can't send them across the border). Therefore, Canadian readers may call 866-295-4143, the number of our Canadian distributor, to obtain copies of all of our booklets.
