A pro-family organization is concerned that changes proposed by the Internal Revenue Service would suppress the ability of conservative organizations to communicate with the public about public policy matters.
In November the IRS announced new rules that would give it the authority to restrict voter guides, legislative scorecards, get-out-the-vote campaigns and even the voter registration activities of non-profit groups. The federal agency calls such civic engagement as “candidate-related political activity.”
Tea party groups believe the rules are an effort to curb conservative activism and drown out conservative voices for the upcoming elections. Click here to continue reading.
