The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) formally named Leith Anderson as President, a post he has held as interim since November 2006. Anderson is a well-known pastor, author, seminary lecturer, and missions leader.

The NAE board voted unanimously to approve the selection of Anderson at their October 11 Fall Board Meeting held at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel, across the Potomac River from the Capitol. The meeting was held in conjunction with a “Global Leaders Forum,” which drew international guests from nearly fifteen countries and included addresses by Ban Ki-moon, General Secretary of the United Nations and Ronald Tschetter, Director of the U.S. Peace Corps.
