The Live Like Jesus website is registered to Daniel Decker who is part of The Jon Gordon Companies. Jon Gordon, author of The 10-Minute Energy Solution, is a proponent of New Age thought. In his book, Gordon shows how to improve energy levels through meditation, yoga, breathing exercises, and other such techniques. Throughout the book, Gordon quotes favorably from the Dalai Lama, meditator Daniel Goleman, Thich Nhat Hanh, New Agers Marilyn Ferguson and Wayne Dyer, and from A Course in Miracles.* Gordon promotes panentheism (God in all) by saying things such as: “You came from this source [speaking of God] and you are this source” (p. 207).
Last week, we issued an article titled The Secret Behind the Secret. The article quoted Jon Gordon regarding a conversation he had with Erwin McManus about the big hit film, The Secret (promoted by Oprah). Even though The Secret is an occultic work (inspired by the teachings of Abraham, a group of spirit guides), McManus and Gordon discussed it in a positive light and made these comments public in Gordon’s newsletter (see article link above).
While the Live Like Jesus blog has Christian terminology and language, viewers should use discernment because the site is recommending meditation promotion sites, including The Secret, and Evotional.com (the site of contemplative proponent Mark Batterson) as well as Erwin McManus’ site.
Note: The 10-Minute Energy Solution by Jon Gordon was endorsed by New Age sympathizer Ken Blanchard. Incidentally, Gordon’s newest book, The Energy Bus, carries a foreword by Blanchard. Blanchard is part of the Hoffman Institute, a New Age think tank.
