Note: Footnote Material on Ancient Wisdom Article

Lighthouse Trails is meticulous about our footnotes in our books and articles. We check and double check every footnote we use. After we posted the article last week, “The Advent of the Ancient Wisdom,” written by Ray Yungen, a Lighthouse Trails reader wrote us this:

Subject: http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/newsletters/2011/newsletter20110627.htm – The Advent of the “Ancient Wisdom” by Ray Yungen

“An October 2006 Time magazine article on what America believes, reveals that fourteen percent of the U.S. population sees God as ‘a Higher Power or Cosmic Force’.9″ –>  9) Nancy Gibbss, “An In-Depth View of America by the Numbers” (Time magazine, October 22, 2006).

I read this article in Time here: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1549322,00.html … but I see nothing like “fourteen percent of the U.S. population sees God as ‘a Higher Power or Cosmic Force.'” Is this a mistake? Can you ask ray Yungen about it? God bless you and your team! M.V.

Our response: The footnote is correct, but it does not appear to be on the online issue on Time magazine’s website. The main article,  “An In-Depth View of America by the Numbers” is online, as our reader pointed out. But in that article there is a section that is not online (it is in their print version). For anyone who is trying to find that section, we have scanned two pages of the Time magazine article, and you may view them by clicking here and here (or see them below). We never mind a reader contacting us if there is any question about our documentation. We want to be as accurate as we possibly can; so we thank this reader for checking on this.
