LTRP Note: The following letter was sent to us by a woman in Florida, whose family has been helped by reading Carolyn A. Greene’s novel, Castles in the Sand, the only novel ever published that exposes the dangers of contemplative spirituality. We hope this letter will encourage others to get this book and share it with their families and friends who may be delving into this mystical spirituality).
Dear Lighthouse Trails, just want to pass on some input about Castles in the Sand:
–From a friend I had loaned the Castles book to:
“I finished the book … I’m ordering some extras to pass out, too.”–From another friend I had loaned a copy to:
“This is scary! May I buy this book from you? I want to mark in it and show the info to all my friends and my children.”–From my niece in rural Kentucky who had read a copy of Castles that I had loaned her:
“Because I had read that book you loaned me, I was able to recognize what a lady who spoke in our church was saying. She was promoting contemplative prayer and other such things. Had I not read Castles, I would not have known what she was talking about and would not have been concerned. I plan to speak with our pastor about this.”–From Me:
My daughter read the book while visiting us. She liked it so much she had me order one for her to loan to her friend in Tennessee. She told her friend about it before the book came in. A bit later, her friend told her that, because of what my daughter told her about the book, she recognized the problem areas in a book she had checked out from her church library for her 4 YEAR OLD. It was about snakes and yoga. My daughter’s friend is now reading the book. Her husband is the Christian Ed teacher at a Christian school, so I’m hoping he’ll also read the book so he can beware.My son, who doesn’t usually read things like that (he’s a history reader) read it — at my insistance. He said–without my prompting– that it was a book that many should read so they can know what is out there!!!
I’m so proud of my late 30s children–that they truly have a biblical worldview, and I know it is because of sound Bible teaching and understanding the need for books like Castles in the Sand.
Please pass this on to the author. I am giving each of my two visiting friends copies of the book this week. They are from two different churches in Kentucky so, hopefully, the info will go out from them to many. Thanks for your ministry! M.R. in Florida.
