Rick Warren on Fox News Tonight

LTRP Note: We received this letter tonight from one of our researchers. It is addressing Rick Warren’s appearance on Fox tonight.

Letter to the Editor

“Well,…I just finished watching & recording Warren’s special on Fox.

“The first line in his Purpose Driven Life is “It’s not about YOU!” Well,…this was all about RICK!, and sadly, … it didn’t have anything to do with Jesus. Oh, the word “God,” … or more likely “god,” was used throughout the hour, but I was left with the feeling that this god Warren referred to, could be any god.

“And Jesus?…to the best of my knowledge, his ‘Name’ was mentioned twice, once when Kay Warren was in prayer, and the second by the show’s host in the final shot of the show. In both,…it was off handed and non-descript. Jesus as Savior, redeemer, His shed blood, Lamb of God, the only hope of forgiveness and Heaven, and mankind’s absolute need for Him? ….never mentioned, … not even close! I at least expected Warren to make his famous and disturbing statement,… “God loves us so much, He sent His Son here to earth to forgive our Past!” But even this escaped this so called special. Political Correctness & the all inclusiveness of post modern ecumentalism reigned supreme!

“This special adds to a long list of televised opportunities Warren has had, to preach the pure, simple message of salvation, and he’s obviously considered it unimportant! If my Pastor was afforded the same opportunity, there would be people saved around the globe, … why … because he wouldn’t have frittered away the airtime selling books and a dominionist peace plan, … he would have humbly shared God’s simple plan of salvation. And when preachers do just that, the simple words of God are infused with God’s Holy Spirit, which is the only power on earth capable of changing minds, and causing repentance, a repentance that leads to salvation!

“Warren’s presentation is so smooth, so polished, and his persona so unassuming and yes … likeable, I found myself feeling pangs of sympathy, and understanding toward this amiable guy in a Hawaiian shirt & sockless docksiders. Several times I found myself pulling back on the stick, before the ground met up with my wandering concentration. And if I, knowing his false message and agenda, can be affected, even if just momentarily, what chance would un-churched Harry & Mary stand?

“God warns us that, if possible, even the very elect are in danger of being fooled in these last days, … I think I’ve just had a very small taste of the overwhelming power to come.

“I remember reading the account of a Jewish journalist attending a 1938 Hitler rally in Nuremberg. He elaborated on the fact that he was well aware of the agenda the Nazi’s had to destroy the Jewish people, but he found himself being drawn to the very spell & spirit of what was before him, … being seduced to the very thing that would insure his death!

“I’m not comparing Warren to Hitler,..I’m not calling Warren the antichrist! But that Jewish journalist’s story was the first thing that entered my mind. I am comparing people’s blindness back then to people’s blindness today. How can so many be so misled?

“I fear for all those who are caught up in this purpose driven perversion, and the peace plan which is nothing more than a humanistic form of Christianity, … form without substance. Men relying on the power of mankind to identify & prioritize the world’s problems,..and then through their power solve the same, wearing a banner referring to God, but void of the power of God.

“The power that Warren openly refers to of late, is the combined power of Government, transnational corporations, and the “Church” — in other words, the late Peter Drucker’s “Three Legged Stool”! In recent articles he’s put forward his confidence in this fascist alliance, to combat the five giants, and if you can find God in there somewhere, … you’ve got more perception than I.

“Will they ever hear a clear simple presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, amongst the human good works, membership covenants, the presentation of an anemic, convoluted gospel, that leaves those that eat of it … hungry, … or worse … artificially full? And most dangerous of all, starving his disciples’ by weaning his “small groups” off the study of prophecy,… “a more sure word”….the protein of faith!”
