Catherine Brown’s is a story that no mother wants to face but every mother should read. This woman struggles with being a young mother, dealing with her husband’s alcohol addiction, and raising her children with her own instincts and God’s guidance. Like a lioness she will do anything to protect her children, and the depth of that is put to the test when the children begin to talk about what they’ve experienced from the hands of trusted adults.
This story takes you into a legal system and court proceedings that are an eye opener to why mothers flee with their children. One reason – to protect them from the worst possible sin against children, sexual abuse. This is not an overly graphic depiction of sexual abuse, the reader’s imagination will sicken you without the blatant details. This is not an overly religious story, but you will see the author walk hand in hand with the only salvation there is – God. You’re not being preached at, you’re only shown the subtle path she walks to do the only important thing – save her children. Laughter Calls Me is a poignant and powerful story, told by a woman who has come to peace with it. Her strength and courage are to be commended. An excellent form of writing, straight forward and honest. Laughter Calls Me will captivate you from beginning to end. (From an Anonymous Reader) For more book information and to order, click here.
