The head of the Pacific Justice Institute says a non-binding resolution just introduced in the California legislature raises a “red flag” that the state is on the verge of telling Christian pastors and counselors what they can and cannot say to certain people in deep pain.
Assembly Concurrent Resolution 99 proclaims that the state’s legislators have “found that being [LGBT] is not a disease, disorder, illness, deficiency, or shortcoming”; contends that attempts to help a person struggling with same-sex attraction are harmful; and blames churches and faith-based counselors for the epidemic of suicides within the LGBT community. The public schools, colleges and even some Christian colleges are teaching students how to be the opposite sex. 32 yrs. ago a junior college in CA was having students roleplay this in class. Many yrs. ago I read in Christianity Today that Wheaton University had a gay student union. They have strayed far from the Bible. Very sad.
Could this all be an affront to the real goal? Is America free anymore, was it ever? That’s all I hear, how we are all free. Churches and the American flag, pastors in the pulpit singing ‘God Bless America’. But seems to me there is not much you can do in this ‘free society’ so called and not be put in jail for it. This erosion just like rust on an old car has an end, the crushing of God’s people as foretold in scripture. Psalm 2. This country is not even mentioned in the Bible but as a ‘nation’ . But be of good cheer, we have overcome the world!
California legislature introduces resolution ACR-99 proclaiming: ‘being LGBT is not a disease, disorder, illness, deficiency, or short coming.’ It would pave the way to force pastors and faith-based counselors to take a stand for the Gospel of Christ(or not stand, but still it would determine whether they are Christ-centered or anti-Christ).
Perhaps the LGBT lifestyle is not disease, disorder, illness, defiance, or short coming but it IS sin. Adultery, fornication, sexual immorality, witchcraft, lying, murder(and such)…are sins also. First Corinthians 6:9-11 is one example. The cure is to accept Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, Repent from sin(turn away from sin;) Study the Bible scriptures and perhaps start with: Ephesians 6:11-18. Christians can never accept or excuse a sinful lifestyle.
