Prayer Request for Warren B. Smith

Please pray for Lighthouse Trails author and co-laborer Warren B. Smith and his wife, Joy. They were hit with a house fire and have another potential risk from a nearby forest fire. Yesterday on July 3rd, their home, located in central California, suffered severe fire and smoke damage due to a faulty cooling system. They lost four pets in the fire as well as personal possessions. The house is uninhabitable in its present state. Now, today, we have learned that there is a fast-moving forest fire currently about a mile from their property. Warren and Joy are away from the vicinity and told us, “We are OK.” We know they are putting their trust in the Lord.

(UPDATE: JULY 5TH, Within a few hours of when we sent out this notice for people to pray, local forest fire fighters put the forest fire out. We thank the Lord for HIs mercy.)

For those of you who are familiar with Warren’s ministry and writings, you know he has sacrificially laid down his life for the edifying and exhortation of the body of Christ for many years now as he warns of the danger of the New Age and its impact on the church. As a former New Age follower himself, he also ministers to many people who have come out of the New Age. We find it very disheartening and sad to learn of the fire that has damaged their home and the forest fire nearing their place. Please pray for this dear beloved couple who mean so much to Lighthouse Trails and to thousands of people touched by Warren’s life and ministry.

As you pray for Warren and Joy, please also pray that they will have clear guidance from the Lord as to how to handle this situation and as to whether they will need to relocate. As we write this prayer request and think of them, we are reminded of the following verses:

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).
