Kirk : [to phony “God”] Excuse me… Excuse me… I just wanted to ask a question. What does God need with a starship?
Have always loved Star Trek, love it still. Despite Gene Roddenbury’s humanist tendencies I never felt the show dishonored God, though it did ask questions. In the movie The Final Frontier my beloved captain was able to discern that a “force” claiming to be “god” could not in fact be so, as God would not need THEM, (thus implying that they would need God). As a Christian, watching this film over again many years later, I was impressed that my captain had gotten just exactly right.

Not long ago I watched the very first episode of the original TV show, and was shocked at the seminal statement as to its purpose. I had heard that Gene Roddenberry was a staunch humanist, and that statement proved that claim to be true, IMHO.

I use to watch Star Trek many years ago. I enjoyed watching Science Fiction because I thought it was entertaining, it was make-believe to me. The writer of Star Trek Gene Roddenberry had other plans for his t.v. Show. Gene was a humanist, criticisms of God got worse as the years passed on. God was just a legend to him. His Vulcans in the show said “God was not very impressive and a poor excuse of a supreme being”. Not sure if it was God or The Devil who was in charge”. What Blasphemy! ! The new Star Trek Discovery today shows 2 new characters, aTransgender and a Non-Binary character that is boy-girl together!!! God is mocked again!!! Satan owns Hollywood, the media, political parties, governments, the medical world, the banking world, the apostate religions of the world and will soon demand worship from all of the world! The Gospel is still open to those who will repent and put their trust/faith in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ. What can wash away my sin, nothing but The Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ!
