We are presently in a church split as many are contending for conservitive evangelicalism as opposed to the Emergent direction the current Pastor is promoting endorsing such teachers as Dallas Willard. Thank you Lighthouse Trails for your help in making your available to open the eyes of many in our Calvary Chapel in Mission Viejo. Please pray for us as some in leadership see us as causing “Satanic ddivision”

Lighthouse Trails. Thank you for this article. I agree with you 100%. Church, we need to be on our toes, so much false doctrine is being presented. I have a friend who keeps sending me videos etc of false prophets and false ministers that she follows. Btw she led me to the Lord several decades ago. When I push back on these things she thinks I’m wrong. Pray every day for discernment.

Sad, but not surprising. I got saved at a Calvary Chapel in the early 90s. They taught us the Word and they had incredible worship songs from the Maranatha singers… It was truly Heaven on earth for us. We never wanted to leave the building. When we weren’t at church we all listened to all those great Calvary teachings on Kwave or were having Bible studies… Those where the men that The Lord used to put His Word deep within our hearts… It’s out of fear, not wanting any persecution and to be socially acceptable that this kid is making such comments… He who seeks to save his life shall lose it. He who loses his life for my sake shall find it… Truly sad.. I feel bad for all the good Calvary Chapel pastors that have to continually deal with these false teachers.

Maybe I am wrong on this, but wasn’t it Chuck Smith who told his own son to disengage from the Calvary Chapel “association” because of what he considered unacceptable theology and practices on his son’s part?
I remember when Brian B took over and all of Chuck Smith’s sermons were “unavailable” as a resource.
It seems that there is no strong peson/body leading the CC’s any longer. Of course, Satan is going to strike at any weak point. It is a shame, because with the downward slope of so many ot the Baptist churches, which have in the past been the remaining bulwark of conservative thought, the CC’s, at least under Chuck Smith, were pretty biblically reliable. Maybe a separation is needed – the WCCs (Woke Calvary Chapels) vs the OCCs (Original Calvary Chapels).
Will He find ANY faith left when He returns?

This pastor of Calvary Chapel is NOT like many most CC. There are some excellent ones, such as Jack Hibbs, Barry Stagner, and many others and none of them believe God is done with Israel. So my message is we need to know the Word of God for ourselves so we can discern false teachers.

This is so sad to see. Not a surprise yet incredibly sad. Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa along with the many Calvary Chapels that they influence are transitioning from a slide into apostasy to a free fall into apostasy.
I am surprised that there were no responses to this article. Even more, but not surprised by it, there are no responses from leadership. Silence in the face of grave error speaks volumes.
